Abstract
Description
視力とは、目で物体を識別できる能力のことである。視力低下の原因は、屈折異常や調節異常である。屈折異常や調節異常とは目の中の水晶体の形状により網膜の光の焦点に問題があることである。最も一般的な屈折異常は近視、遠視、乱視、老眼である。
毛様体筋とは、水晶体の形状を調節してピントを合わせる筋肉である。筋肉自体は毛様体の中にある。視力の低下は、毛様体筋の筋力低下が原因と考えられる。
細胞の分裂回数は有限であり、ヘイフリック限界と呼ばれている。細胞の分裂回数は染色体の端にあるテロメアで決まり、細胞分裂を繰り返すたびにテロメアが短くなり、ある程度短くなるとヘイフリック限界に達する。
酵素テロメラーゼはテロメアを伸長させる酵素である。酵素テロメラーゼを毛様体筋に投与することにより毛様体筋内の筋肉細胞のテロメアを伸長させ、再び筋肉細胞分裂を復活させる状態に回復させる。
酵素ASB7は細胞分裂を正常に行う酵素である。酵素ASB7を酵素テロメラーゼと同時に毛様体筋に投与することにより、再び毛様体筋内の筋肉細胞分裂を復活させる。その結果、毛様体筋の筋力を向上させて、さらに水晶体の形状調節の能力も向上させて、視力の回復をする。
毛様体筋を標的部位とするリポソーム医薬品であって、酵素テロメラーゼと酵素ASB7の両方を有効成分として含む、視力回復薬を目薬として目に入れる。
視力回復薬の投与の量は視力回復の進捗状況を見ながら適宜決める。
