Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a method for recovering fuel debris, and more particularly to a method for recovering nuclear fuel debris generated in an accident at a nuclear power plant from the inside of a nuclear reactor.
In the technical field of sludge treatment, air or the like is supplied as bubbles in the treated wastewater, and an object to be treated (for example, suspended particles or the like) contained in the treated wastewater is attached to the interface of the bubbles to float and separate. The method (separation method) is already known. As this technique, for example, there is one described in Patent Document 1.
By the way, in order to recover (remove) the fuel debris generated by the accident at the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station from inside the reactor, in order to minimize the exposure of workers, the above fuel should be submerged inside the reactor. Debris needs to be collected. If the fuel debris recovery work is performed without flooding, the crushed fuel debris (for example, uranium) may become dust and fly into the air, and the worker may be exposed to radiation.
It is expected that this fuel debris to be recovered will be deposited at the bottom of the reactor, which was destroyed by the accident and has a complicated structure. Therefore, when the method described in Patent Document 1 is used for the recovery of the fuel debris, it is expected that it is difficult for bubbles such as the supplied air to reach the fuel debris and it is difficult to recover the fuel debris. Will be done. In other words, the inside of the destroyed nuclear reactor has a complicated structure, and there is a problem that it is difficult to reliably deliver bubbles to the fuel debris by the method described in Patent Document 1.
The present invention has been made in view of such circumstances, and is a method for recovering fuel debris that can recover fuel debris accumulated at the bottom of a nuclear reactor that has been destroyed by an accident and has a complicated structure. The purpose is to provide.
In order to solve the above problems, one aspect of the present invention is a method for recovering fuel debris accumulated in a reactor, in which the fuel is placed in the reactor controlled so that the first pressure is maintained. A liquid injection step of injecting a gas-dissolved liquid that is a liquid in which a gas is dissolved so that debris is immersed, or a liquid injection step of injecting a substance that makes a liquid already existing in the reactor into the gas-dissolved liquid, and the liquid injection. After the step, it has a foaming step of foaming the gas-dissolved liquid, and after the foaming step, a recovery step of recovering the fuel debris generated in the gas-dissolved liquid to which bubbles containing the gas adhere and float. This is a method for recovering fuel debris.
Here, the above-mentioned "foaming a gas-dissolved liquid" means generating a gas dissolved in the gas-dissolved liquid in the gas-dissolved liquid, and supplying the gas from the outside into the gas-dissolved liquid to generate bubbles. Is not to cause.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, a crushing step for crushing the fuel debris may be further provided after the liquid injection step and before the recovery step or at the same time as the foaming step.
Further, in this method of recovering fuel debris, the first pressure may be lower than the atmospheric pressure.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, in the foaming step, the inside of the reactor may be depressurized from the first pressure to the second pressure to foam the gas-dissolved liquid.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, the first pressure is in the range of 0.500 atm or more and 0.999 atm or less, and the second pressure is lower than the first pressure. It may be that.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, in the foaming step, the temperature of the dissolved gas liquid may be raised to foam the dissolved gas liquid.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, in the foaming step, the fuel debris may be crushed to generate fuel debris fragments, and the generated fuel debris fragments may be used as a nucleus to foam the gas-dissolved liquid. ..
Here, the above-mentioned "nucleus" means a so-called seed when foaming a gas-dissolved liquid.
Further, in this method of recovering fuel debris, the first pressure may be lower than the atmospheric pressure.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, the gas-dissolved liquid may be a gas-dissolved liquid in which a saturated amount of the gas is dissolved.
Here, the above-mentioned "gas-dissolved liquid in which a saturated amount of gas is dissolved" means a liquid in which a maximum amount of gas is dissolved.
Further, in this method for recovering fuel debris, the gas is one or more gases selected from the group consisting of carbon dioxide, hydrogen, ammonia, nitrogen, oxygen, and argon, and the liquid in which the gas is dissolved is water. It may be one or more liquids selected from the group consisting of an ionic liquid and an inert liquid.
According to the method for recovering fuel debris according to the present invention, it is possible to recover fuel debris accumulated at the bottom of a nuclear reactor which has been destroyed by an accident and has a complicated structure.
<構成>
FIG. 1 is a conceptual diagram showing a configuration of a nuclear fuel debris recovery device according to an embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, the configuration of the nuclear fuel debris recovery device according to the embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. 1.
<Structure>
FIG. 1 shows a reactor storage vessel 2, a
The reactor containment vessel 2 is a reactor containment vessel generally called "Mark I type". The reactor containment vessel 2 includes a storage portion called a "sphere portion 2a" and a storage portion called a "cylindrical portion 2b" arranged above the storage portion (upper side of the drawing). A cylindrical

<Collection method>
(First Embodiment)
FIG. 2 is a flow chart showing a flow of a method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the first embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a conceptual diagram showing a state in which bubbles are attached to the nuclear fuel debris. Hereinafter, a method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3.
First, the inside of the reactor containment vessel 2 is maintained at a preset pressure (hereinafter, also referred to as “first pressure”) using the pressure control device 22 (S11). The first pressure may be a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure, but is preferably a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure (for example, 0.500 to 0.999 atmospheric pressure). If the first pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure (that is, the inside of the reactor containment vessel 2 is negative pressure), it is possible to effectively prevent radioactive materials from scattering to the outside of the reactor containment vessel 2. can.
Next, with the
Subsequently, the
Subsequently, after the
"Pressure" is one of the variables of the solubility of a gas (that is, the degree of dissolution of a gas with respect to a liquid). More specifically, when pressurized, the solubility of the gas increases, and when the pressure is reduced, the solubility of the gas decreases. Therefore, when the pressure is reduced, the gas previously dissolved in the liquid cannot be completely dissolved and becomes
Further, the

(Modification example)
In each of the above-described embodiments, the case where the step of reducing the pressure is carried out only once has been described, but the present invention is not limited thereto. For example, the steps of pressurization and depressurization may be repeated a plurality of times between 0.99 atm and 0.98 atm. By repeatedly pressurizing and depressurizing, the foaming of the

(Second Embodiment)
Hereinafter, the method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 4 is a flow chart showing a flow of a method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the second embodiment of the present invention.

Hereinafter, the method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the third embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 5 is a flow chart showing a flow of a method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to the third embodiment of the present invention.
First, the inside of the reactor containment vessel 2 is maintained at a preset pressure (hereinafter, also referred to as “first pressure”) using the pressure control device 22 (S31). The first pressure may be a pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure, but is preferably a pressure lower than the atmospheric pressure (for example, 0.99 atm). If the first pressure is a negative pressure, it is possible to effectively prevent radioactive materials from scattering to the outside of the reactor containment vessel 2.

(Application example 1)
No air bubbles are generated from the inside of an underwater structure (for example, rubble). Therefore, by creating a bitmap of bubbles floating on the surface of the water and analyzing the distribution without using a shock wave, the shape of the structure in the water can be inferred. Further, by applying a shock wave while changing the focal position in water, the location where bubbles are generated can be controlled three-dimensionally.
By doing so, if the focal position of the shock wave is scanned three-dimensionally to create the distribution of the locations where bubbles are generated, the shape of the structure in the water can be known.
(Application example 2)
In each of the above-described embodiments and application example 1, the case where water in which CO 2 is dissolved (that is, carbonated water) is used has been described, but argon (Ar) may be dissolved in water instead of CO 2. good. Ar is an inert gas to 0.0336ml / ml dissolved in water (H 2 O) in an environment of 1 atm · 20 ° C.. Further, Ar (hereinafter, also referred to as “Ar40”) having a mass number of 40, which is a natural element having an abundance of 99.6%, is a gas having a specifically high thermal neutron capture cross section.
Neutrons emitted from uranium and plutonium present in nuclear fuel debris are easily decelerated by water to become thermal neutrons, and the thermal neutrons collide with Ar40 to generate Ar41. This Ar41 is a beta-decayed nuclide with a half-life of 1.82 hours, and 99.1% of gamma rays of 1.29 MeV and a weak amount of gamma rays of 1.677 MeV are generated per becquerel. These gamma rays have high material permeability and are easy to identify and quantify with a gamma ray detector. The spatial distribution of Ar41, which is the source of gamma rays, and its temporal changes are visualized and measured like an X-ray. be able to. Normally, Ar does not exist inside an underwater structure (for example, rubble, etc.) unless it is enclosed with a special intention. Therefore, by arranging a plurality of gamma ray detectors around the reactor and measuring the difference in the amount of detected gamma rays, the state of the structure in water can be discriminated as a stereoscopic image such as CT (Computed Tomography). FIG. 6 is a conceptual diagram showing a state in which a plurality of gamma ray detectors are arranged around a nuclear reactor.
When the spatial distribution of the gamma ray emission source can be regarded as stationary in time, the image resolution (spatial resolution) can be increased by lengthening the measurement time.
In addition, gamma rays emitted by radioactive sodium generated by activation of natural sodium (Na) existing in the nuclear reactor may cause noise in the above measurement. More specifically, Na (Na23) having a mass number of 23 is activated by neutrons to become Na (Na24) having a mass number of 24. This Na24 produces 1.369 MeV gamma rays at a emission rate of 100% per decay and 2.754 MeV gamma rays at a emission rate of 99.8% with a half-life of 15 hours. That is, since the 1.369 MeV gamma ray generated from Na24 existing in the reactor has an energy value close to that of 1.29 MeV gamma ray of Ar41, the measured gamma ray is caused by Ar41 or Na24. It is difficult to distinguish (discriminate) whether it is a thing. Therefore, it is possible to measure the gamma rays of 2.754 MeV simultaneously generated from Na24 and discriminate the contribution by using the measured intensity, and it is possible to selectively detect only the gamma rays caused by Ar41.
(Application example 3)
Furthermore, the gaseous Ar and the Ar dissolved in water have different neutron capture rates per unit volume, and therefore the gamma dose emitted also differs. As an application example of this property, as described in each of the above-described embodiments, when the pressure in the reactor is changed to generate bubbles containing Ar, the structure such as rubble causes a lid-like shape (concave position is inverted). It is possible to detect the existence and shape of the space that has trapped the rising Ar bubbles. In addition, the focal position of the shock wave emitted from the shock wave generator shifts due to multipath due to the influence of rubble on the way, but it is necessary to measure the focal position of the shock wave in order to correct this shift, and it can be applied to this. .. That is, since Ar bubbles are concentrated and generated at the focal point of the shock wave, the position of the focal point of the shock wave can be measured.
(Application example 4)
If Ar gas generated by the method described in Application Examples 1 to 3 and floating on the water surface (activated by nuclear fuel debris) is collected, the total amount of its radioactivity is measured, and its "specific activity" is measured, the nuclear fuel Information on the amount of neutrons emitted by debris can be obtained. It is possible to know the state of the nuclear reaction occurring in the nuclear fuel debris. The isotope ratio of Ar also shows the nuclear reaction occurring in the nuclear fuel debris.
Furthermore, if non-radioactive Ar gas is sprayed locally on the nuclear fuel debris in a gas or water-dissolved state, the composition distribution of uranium, plutonium, iron, etc. in the nuclear fuel debris can be found. That is, it is possible to obtain information on the spatial distribution of the amount of nuclear fuel material contained in the nuclear fuel debris. In addition to the spraying method, the Ar concentration in the air or water may be locally increased. There is also a method of arranging a dummy solid substance containing no Ar to reduce the Ar concentration at that location in a pseudo manner.
<Verification experiment and its result>
A verification experiment was conducted on the method for recovering nuclear fuel debris according to this embodiment. The details will be described below.
In this verification experiment, carbonated water (commercially available) in a 500 ml PET bottle with a height of 21 cm was used as the carbonated water. Further, as a substance imitating molten uranium fuel (nuclear fuel debris), a small piece of gold made from pure gold (specific weight: 19.30 g / cm 3 ) having almost the same specific gravity into small pieces of about poppy grains was used. Specifically, in this verification experiment, a small piece of gold having a size of about 2 mm × 8 mm and a thickness of about 0.3 mm was used. One piece of this gold piece was put into the above-mentioned PET bottle containing carbonated water, and its behavior was observed.
Immediately after the subsidence in the carbonated water, bubbles (CO 2 gas bubbles) were generated and started to adhere to the surface of the small pieces of gold. Further, when the gold subsided to a position of about 10 cm (5 cm from the bottom of the bottle) from the liquid surface, sufficient air bubbles adhered to the surface, and the small pieces of gold began to rise. When the gold pieces rose to the liquid surface, the bubbles adhering to the gold pieces were separated from the gold pieces, and the gold pieces began to sink again.
After putting a small piece of gold in the above-mentioned PET bottle containing carbonated water, when the cap of the PET bottle is completely closed, the inside of the PET bottle becomes pressurized and the substance that becomes the core (seed) of bubble generation (book). In the verification experiment, no bubbles were generated even if small pieces of gold) were present.
The degree and size of bubbles attached greatly depended on the shape of the small pieces of gold. In other words, it was found that even with the same weight, the larger the surface area, the larger bubbles adhere without peeling. It was also found that larger bubbles adhered to the shape with a dent.
As described above, in this verification experiment, it was confirmed that a small piece of gold having a size of about 2 mm × 8 mm square and a thickness of about 0.3 mm floats due to bubbles generated in carbonated water.
As for the nuclear fuel debris having a size that cannot be floated by bubbles, the nuclear fuel debris may be repeatedly crushed until the size is such that the debris can be floated by bubbles.
Further, even if the nuclear fuel debris cannot be completely levitated, if bubbles are attached to the nuclear fuel debris, the weight of the nuclear fuel debris can be reduced by the buoyancy of the bubbles. Therefore, the nuclear fuel debris can be recovered by using the circulating flow of carbonated water.
Further, even the nuclear fuel debris crushed into powder can be recovered because it rides on the circulating flow of carbonated water like the nuclear fuel debris of fine small pieces.
