Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an optical sensor having a light emitting element that irradiates an image carrier with light and a light receiving element that receives reflected light of light emitted from the light emitting element, and an image forming apparatus including the optical sensor.
Color image forming devices such as copiers, printers, and facsimiles that employ a tandem system have a correction function for correcting positional deviation (color deviation) and image density deviation for each color. The image forming apparatus forms a measurement image for correcting color deviation and density deviation, reads the measurement image with an optical sensor, detects the amount of color deviation and density deviation based on the reading result, and corrects the image. .. The image for measurement is formed on an image carrier such as a photoconductor or an intermediate transfer body. The optical sensor is placed in the vicinity of the image carrier. The optical sensor includes a light emitting element and a light receiving element. The light emitting element irradiates the measurement image on the image carrier with light. The light receiving element receives the reflected light from the measurement image of the irradiated light. The amount of color shift and the amount of density shift are detected based on the amount of reflected light received by the light receiving element.
Patent Document 1 discloses a technique for miniaturizing an optical sensor. In this optical sensor, a light emitting element and a light receiving element are directly mounted on a substrate. In this configuration, the distance between the light emitting element and the light receiving element can be shortened as compared with the configuration in which the light emitting component and the light receiving component are mounted by the lead frame, and the entire optical sensor can be miniaturized. When the optical sensor is miniaturized by mounting the light emitting element and the light receiving element directly on the substrate, the mounting components other than each element and the connector for connecting to the external device are mounted on a surface different from the mounting surface of each element. Therefore, the size of the substrate can be suppressed.

Further miniaturization of the optical sensor can be realized by integrating the mounting components for control into an integrated circuit and connecting them to the substrate by wire bonding by the chip-on-board method. However, in this case, the following problems occur.
The chip-on-board method can reduce the circuit area, but the wire may be peeled off due to heat or the like. Therefore, it is necessary to perform the soldering process of other mounted components before wire bonding. Wire bonding is performed by a dedicated device. At the time of wire bonding, the dedicated device brings a portion called a head close to the substrate, sends out the wire, and connects the integrated circuit and the substrate with the wire by load and heat. When the integrated circuit and the board are connected by a plurality of wires, the head moves around the board around the integrated circuit. Therefore, the head may interfere with other tall mounting components (for example, connectors) mounted on the same surface.
The present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and a main object of the present invention is to provide an optical sensor that is smaller than the conventional one.
The optical sensor of the present invention includes a substrate, a light emitting element mounted on the first surface of the substrate to irradiate the measurement target with light, and a light receiving element mounted on the first surface to receive the reflected light from the measurement target. A first mounting component mounted on a second surface different from the first surface of the substrate by wire bonding, a second mounting component mounted on the second surface, and a second mounting component mounted on the second surface. A connector is provided, and the first mounting component is arranged farther from the connector than the second mounting component.
According to the present invention, it is possible to realize an optical sensor that is smaller than the conventional one.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

The

An
The toner images of each color transferred from the

FIG. 9 is an example diagram of an arrangement state of mounting components mounted on the
As described above, the electrodes of the
The other mounting
If another mounting
Further, the arrangement of the mounting components shown in FIG. 9 is an example in which the
