Abstract
Description
多孔性ポリマーゲルモノリシックブロックは、米国特許出願第15/728,385号に開示されているような手順により得られた。ラジカル架橋ポリマーネットワークで構成され得るエアロゲルを形成するプロセスは、安定フリーラジカル重合(SFRP)、原子移動ラジカル重合(ATRP)、可逆的付加フラグメンテーション連鎖移動(RAFT)、及び連鎖移動剤の使用などの制御されたラジカル重合プロセスを含む、ラジカル重合プロセスを含むがこれらに限定されない多くの異なるプロセスの1つを含んでもよい。
25gのメタノール及び6.2gの水内で、テトラメチルオルトシリケート(10.4g)とメチルトリエトキシシラン(9.3g)とを混合することにより、透明エアロゲル材料を調製した。この混合物を12時間撹拌した。pHが9.0に達するまで、アンモニア溶液の液滴を徐々に添加した。この混合物を48時間放置した。次に、この溶媒をアセトンと交換した(2回、それぞれ12時間)。
ドクターブレードを使用して、市販のUV硬化性インクの層をPETプラスチック基材上に堆積させた。別の実施例では、インクジェットプリンタでゲルUV硬化性インクを印刷した。次に、実施例1及び2で生成されたものなどのセンサ粒子を、UV硬化性インクの表面上に散布して付着させた。365ナノメートルの波長のUV光に暴露することで、硬化を行った。次に、表面に付着しない粒子を収集して、再循環させた。
実施例1〜3に記載しているように製造された図4に示すセンサを、アンモニアガスに暴露した。センサに印刷されたメッセージ42は、図5に示すように、2秒未満のうちに極めて急速に発色した。これに対して、市販のアンモニア検知バッジであるChromAir Ammonia Safety Badge(Morphix Part#380003−10)は、目で検出できる発色となるのに約40秒かかった。
実施例1〜3に記載しているように製造されたセンサを、実施例4に記載しているようにアンモニア蒸気に暴露すると、発色した。次に、図6に示すように、発色したセンサを塩酸蒸気に暴露すると、約10〜15秒で変色した。発色/変色サイクルを繰り返すことができた。このことは、センサの可逆性と、概ね使い捨てセンサである一般的な市販のセンサの代わりに、本センサが再利用可能となる可能性があることとを示している。他のセンサは不可逆的である可能性がある。
Claims (20)
- ある表面上に堆積される第1の材料と、前記第1の材料の表面上に堆積される検知粒子であって、前記検知粒子は、多孔性ホスト構造体内に分散された検知種を含み、これによって前記検知粒子の少なくとも一部が周囲環境に暴露される、検知粒子とを含む発色センサであって、前記第1の材料は前記検知粒子を前記面へと付着させる、発色センサ。
- 前記第1の材料は透明である、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記第1の材料は硬化性インクで形成される、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記多孔性ホスト構造体は、少なくとも100m2/gの比表面積を有する、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記多孔性ホスト構造体はポリマー材料、金属酸化物、又はセラミック材料のうちのいずれか1つである、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 被検物質の存在下では、前記検知粒子は色変化し、前記色変化は200〜4000nmの波長範囲で起こる、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 被検物質の存在下では、前記検知粒子は色変化し、前記色変化は200〜800nmの波長範囲で起こる、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記多孔性ホスト構造体はラジカル架橋ポリマーネットワークを含む、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記検知種は有機分子、ポリマー、塩、無機錯体、ナノ粒子、又はそれらの組み合わせを含む、請求項1に記載の発色センサ。
- 前記検知種は、被検物質と化学的に反応するという特徴を有する、請求項9に記載の発色センサ。
- 発色センサの形成方法であって、ある基材上に第1の材料を堆積させることと、多孔性検知粒子を提供することであって、前記検知粒子は、多孔性ホスト構造体内に分散された検知種を含む、ことと、前記堆積した第1の材料の表面上に前記多孔性検知粒子を埋め込むことであって、その際、前記第1の材料は、前記検知粒子の少なくとも一部が周囲環境に暴露されるように、前記検知粒子を前記基材へと付着させる、ことと、を含む発色センサの形成方法。
- 前記多孔性検知粒子を散布した後、前記第1の材料の硬化又は乾燥のうちのいずれか一方を行うことにより、堆積パターンを硬化させることを更に含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記第1の材料を堆積させることは、前記パターンをインクで印刷することを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記センサの知覚される色変化を増大させるように、前記インク又は前記基材のうちのいずれか一方を選択している、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記多孔性検知粒子を提供することは、多孔性エアロゲルを形成することと、前記多孔性エアロゲルの粉砕か、又は前記多孔性エアロゲルの直接合成のうちの一方を行って、多孔性エアロゲル構造体の粒子を形成することと、前記多孔性エアロゲルに検知種を添加することとを含む、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記多孔性エアロゲルを形成することは、安定フリーラジカル重合、原子移動ラジカル重合、可逆的付加フラグメンテーション連鎖移動、及び連鎖移動剤の使用からなる群から選択される1つの方法によって、前記多孔性エアロゲルを形成することを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記検知種を添加することは、前記エアロゲルに前記検知種を注入することを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記検知種を添加することは、前記エアロゲルを形成するために使用される前駆体溶液の一部である溶媒中に、前記検知種を配置することを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記検知種を添加することは、前記エアロゲルの形成中又は形成後に、前記検知種をエアロゲル壁に化学的にグラフト化することを含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記エアロゲルは、対象の被検物質を吸着するか、又は他の物質上で前記対象の被検物質を選択的に吸着するかのいずれか1つを行う、請求項15に記載の方法。
