その後に、操作具50に付設のレバー51にワイヤー8の端を固定し、もう一方の端を操作具1aの挿通穴5、アウター筒8、そして制動具60の操作具1bの順に通して制動具60に固定してある。
この状態で、レバー51を引くと、その引き量はワイヤー8を介して制動具60側に伝わり、制動具60を作動する引き量となるが、この引き量はワイヤー8が伸びた場合には、伸び量分の損失が発生するため不足し、逆にアウター筒9が接続具1から外れた場合には過剰となり、何れもブレーキの動作不良の原因となる。
このことについて、図4及び図5で簡単に説明すると、アウター筒9は経路に合せた長さで、操作具50側の接続具1aと制動具60側の接続具1bで両端を固定し、これにワイヤー8を挿通して緩みの無い状態で両端を前記操作具と前記制動具にそれぞれ固定してある。
しかし、使用を継続しているうちに前記状態からワイヤー8が伸びて、緩みを発生したり、重力や振動などの外力によりアウター筒9が接続具1aや接続具1bから抜け出したりする。
本願発明の接続具では、ロックネジ7がアウター筒9の先端に付けたキャップ10を止めて抜けることを阻止してあり、ワイヤー8の緩みは調整ネジ3で張ることができる。例えば、図5の接続具1aを前記接続具に付設の調整ネジ3を緩めてアウター筒9の方向に移動することで、前記ワイヤーは前記アウター側に引っ張られるため、前記調整ネジを前記ワイヤーの緩み量分だけ緩めることで緩みを解消することになる。
