本発明は、以上のような欠点をなくすために考えたものである。

本発明は、透水性ブロックの例えば底面や側面の一部を防水などの加工処理を施しているだけなので、雨水の透水する機能は温存される。新たに貯水機能を付加した透水性と貯水性という二つの特性を兼ね備えたブロックの完成を見るのである。また、このような防水などの加工処理を施せば透水性の機能を持ったあらゆる造形物に応用できる。
防水などの加工処理の一例として一般に市販されている防水機能があるペンキなどを透水性ブロックの目的とされる部位に塗布することで工業的に大量に加工可能である。
