本発明は、一酸化窒素治療のためのシステム及び方法に関する。
一酸化窒素(NO)は、ニトロシルラジカルとしても知られており、重要なシグナル伝達分子であるフリーラジカルである。例えば、NOは、血管の平滑筋を弛緩させ、これにより血管が拡張し、該血管を通る血流が増加する。NOは、2、3秒の寿命の間は非常に反応性に富むが、体内で迅速に代謝されるため、これらの影響は、小さい生物学的領域に限定される。
一般に、一酸化窒素を患者に送達するためのシステムは、該患者の血中酸素濃度を監視するように構成された患者モニター、該患者で監視される血中酸素度に基づく投与量の二酸化窒素を有するガス流を供給するためのガス源、該ガス源に機能的に結合された、二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換する1つ以上の変換装置、及び該変換装置に機能的に結合された、投与量の一酸化窒素を該患者に送達する患者インターフェイスを含み得る。

Claims (9)
- 患者に一酸化窒素を送達するためのシステムであって:
該患者の血中酸素濃度を監視するように構成された患者モニター;
該患者で監視される血中酸素濃度に基づく投与量の二酸化窒素を有するガス流を供給するためのガス源;
該ガス源に機能的に結合された、二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換する1つ以上の変換装置;及び
該変換装置に機能的に結合された、該投与量の一酸化窒素を該患者に送達する患者インターフェイスを含む、前記システム。 - 前記ガス源が人工呼吸器を含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記人工呼吸器と前記1つ以上の変換装置との間に配置された加湿器を更に含む、請求項2記載のシステム。
- 前記患者モニターが、酸素パルスオキシメータを含む、請求項1記載のシステム。
- 前記酸素パルスオキシメータの測定値に基づいて一酸化窒素の用量を調節するフィードバック制御装置を更に含む、請求項4記載のシステム。
- 一酸化窒素を患者に送達するための方法であって:
該患者の血中酸素濃度を監視するステップ;
該患者で監視される血中酸素濃度に基づく投与量の二酸化窒素を供給するステップ;
該二酸化窒素を一酸化窒素に変換するステップ;及び
該投与量の一酸化窒素を該患者に供給するステップを含む、前記方法。 - 前記ガス源が人工呼吸器を含む、請求項6記載の方法。
- 前記一酸化窒素を含むガスを加湿するステップを更に含む、請求項7記載の方法。
- 前記患者が、酸素パルスオキシメータで監視される、請求項6記載の方法。
