Abstract
Description
The present invention is a technique for making warpage and cracking less likely to occur when cedar is used for housing building materials and furniture.
Cedar is often used for construction and furniture, but most cedar has a moisture content of around 20%. However, when our cedar board material low-temperature drying method is performed,
There is almost no change in the shape (warp, crack, etc.) of the material containing moisture in the air unique to wood, and it will be reborn as a material that can be used as a plate for various purposes.
Cedar board material low-temperature drying procedure 1. When purchasing cedar wood, the water content (*) is 30-40%.
* Moisture content in wood
Generally 18-20% for building materials
For furniture, around 10% 2, piled at the time of arrival of cedar materials, so in order to create a gap between each piece of board material, piers (25mm square × 1.500mm) for each cedar material about Place cedars on top of each other at intervals of 90 cm, and again place a pier.
This is repeated so that the height does not exceed 1 m. In addition, two to three sheets are arranged so that the width does not exceed 1.5 m. The time interval is at least 50 mm.
3. In the wood dryer, avoid gaps as much as possible in the dryer. If there is a gap, put your own timber.
4. Fill in the drying schedule (see attached sheet)
5. Start drying Start drying with a dryer.
Dry in a dryer for 9 days a day for 27 days. (Check the drying schedule each time)
Steam for drying is sent from the company's boiler.
6. The moisture content was measured with a measuring instrument (manufactured by KETT Kagaku Co., Ltd.) on the 26th and 27th working days of the dryness confirmation.
Measure moisture content (because it is not exposed to air)
When the moisture content has reached a predetermined value (8 to 10%), the drying in the dryer is completed on the 27th day of operation.
7. Curing period On the day following the end of drying in the dryer, open the lower part of the dryer's door about 100 mm and let it cure for 1 day. To prevent moisture content from exceeding the specified value by sucking
8. Cedar wood that has passed the dry curing period can be used for various purposes such as furniture and building materials without exceeding 12% moisture content even if time passes.
◎ Reason for reducing the moisture content of wood Basically, wood absorbs moisture in the air, and even after it becomes a building material or product, its moisture tends to cause shape changes such as warping.
By suppressing the moisture content, the material is changed to a material that is less likely to warp or change shape.
