リーブオンの毛髪についての結果を図1(ハリ)及び図2(コシ)に示す。また、リーブオンの毛髪の毛束の写真を図3に示す。図1及び図2に示すように、損傷処理を行うことにより、毛髪のハリ・コシは低下したが、ジュンサイ粘質物溶液3%水溶液に浸漬することにより、ハリ・コシが改善した。また、目視による観察でも、図3に示すように、損傷毛髪は毛髪の広がりが大きいが、ジュンサイ粘質物溶液3%水溶液により、広がりが抑えられた。
リンスオフの毛髪についての結果を図4(ハリ)、図5(コシ)及び図6(引張強度)に示す。図4及び図5に示されるように、ジュンサイ粘質物溶液5%溶液は毛髪のハリ・コシを改善した。また、さらに図6に示されるようにジュンサイ粘質物溶液は毛髪の引張強度を改善した。また、増粘剤であるHECと比較したところ、ジュンサイ粘質物溶液はHECより毛髪の質を改善した。
以上により、ジュンサイの粘質物は、優れた髪質改善剤として使用することができ、毛髪化粧料原料として使用することができることが確認された。
