ヘッド部4は、図1に示すように、ヘッドカバー11と、ヘッドカバー11内の回転ブラシ12と、ヘッドカバー11に取り付けられて延長パイプ10を接続させる接続パイプ13と、ガイドローラ14と、下方に開口した吸塵口15とを備える。

着脱手段17は、図3に示すように、例えば、面ファスナー19からなり、発見器本体18をヘッド部4のヘッドカバー11の上面に着脱可能にする。面ファスナー19は、例えば、ヘッドカバー11の上面に背面が所定の固着手段(例えば、両面テープや接着剤)で固定されるループ面部19Aと、発見器本体18の下面に背面が所定の固着手段(例えば、両面テープや接着剤)で固定されるフック面部19Bとからなる。ループ面部19Aとフック面部19Bとは、互いに係合・離脱するものである。
なお、発見器本体18は、ヘッドカバー11の上面に限られず、ヘッドカバー11の前面や側面等にも取り付けることができ、また、延長パイプ10などの他の箇所にも着脱可能に取り付けることができる。
また、着脱手段17としては、面ファスナー19に限らず、例えば、フック、ベルトなどで構成することも可能である。

電源スイッチ23は、バッテリ22に接続され、塵埃発見器16をオン又はオフするものであって、塵埃発見器16の各部への電力を供給又は遮断するように操作される。
発光体24は、例えば、LEDなどからなって朝日の光に近い白色を発生し、ヘッド部4の前方で且つ床面上の塵埃を照らすものである。発光体24は、支持部28に支持される。発光体24は、発見器本体18に、例えば、図4(A)に示すように、1個だけ設置したり、又は、図4(B)に示すように、複数個設置することも可能である。
塵埃検出センサ25は、例えば、発光素子・受光素子からなる光学的センサであり、塵埃で光が乱反射するなどにより、ヘッド部4の前方で且つ床面上の塵埃を検出可能なものである。塵埃検出センサ25は、例えば、図3に示すように、発光体24の近傍に配置される。なお、塵埃検出センサ25としては、光学的センサ以外で、超音波センサなどの他のセンサとすることも可能である。
方向変更用アクチュエータ26は、発光体24の支持部28に連結し、発光体24からの光が上下左右のいずの方向へも変更できるように、支持部28を動かすものである。
制御手段27は、発光体24を、点灯、消灯、あるいは点滅するように、制御するものである。
また、制御手段27は、塵埃検出センサ25が塵埃を検出したときに、方向変更用アクチュエータ26を作動して発光体24の支持部28を動かし、発光体24の光を塵埃の存在する方向へ向けるものである。

そして、ヘッド部4を床面上で移動し、塵埃発見器16の塵埃検出センサ25が塵埃を検出したときに、制御手段27が方向変更用アクチュエータ26を作動制御して発光体24の光を床面上に存在する塵埃(床面上に浮遊する塵埃も含む)の方向へ向けることから、図1に示すように、発光体24からの光によって作業者が塵埃をはっきり目視することができる。つまり、発光体24からの光が塵埃を照らすと、光の原理により、その光が塵埃で乱反射したりする等で、人の目にはその塵埃の存在がはっきり映るものである。
その後、作業者は、塵埃が存在する発光体24の光の方向にヘッド部4を移動し、つまり、発光体24の光の方向が作業方向を誘導することから、塵埃をはっきり目視させつつ、塵埃を除去させることができる。
これにより、除去前の塵埃を目視で十分に確認可能として、塵埃除去の作業範囲を確認させることができる。

探査機41は、図8に示すように、遠隔操作者の通信機器43からの指示信号を受ける受信部44と、塵埃発見器16の発光体24からの光が存在する部位を撮影する撮像部45と、撮像部45の映像を外部の通信機器43に送信する送信部46と、撮像部45の映像を記憶する記憶部47とを備える。通信機器43は、探査機41の操作部や、遠隔操作者が見るための画面などを備える。
この実施例2の構造によれば、人が侵入不可能な箇所でも、塵埃発見器16によって塵埃を検出させ、遠隔操作によって通信機器43の画面で塵埃を確認したり、あるいは、探査機41を水槽42内から回収した後に、記憶部47に記憶した映像で塵埃を確認することができ、簡便である。
