Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a projector arrangement method for a head-up display (hereinafter referred to as HUD as appropriate) attached to a completed vehicle, for example, and a HUD in which the projector is arranged using this method.
There is a so-called built-in type in which a projector is arranged in a dashboard of a vehicle.
On the other hand, in recent years, a so-called add-on type HUD in which a projector is arranged on a dashboard and is retrofitted to a completed vehicle has also become widespread.
For example, in a conventional add-on type HUD described in Patent Document 1, a projector is disposed on a dashboard, and a combiner is attached to an upper portion of the projector.
In the conventional HUD of the add-on type, there is a problem that the field of vision in front of the user is obstructed by the projector.
For example, in the HUD described in Patent Document 1, since it is necessary to provide an optical system for guiding display light to the upper combiner inside the projector, the size of the projector in the height direction is always increased. For this reason, a part of the user's field of view is blocked by the projector, and the forward visibility may deteriorate.
Some add-on type HUDs have a combiner and a projector provided independently on a dashboard, and a projector disposed in front of the combiner projects an image.
In the HUD having this configuration, an optical system that guides display light to the upper combiner is unnecessary, and therefore the size in the height direction of the projector can be reduced by the amount of the optical system. That is, the space obstructed by the projector is shifted in the vertical direction, and the forward visibility is improved by the amount shifted in the vertical direction.
However, in a conventional add-on type HUD, the projector is placed on the dashboard in front of the combiner. For this reason, the projector overlaps the line connecting the viewpoint of the user who sees the combiner from the rear of the projector and the combiner, and a part of the user's field of view is blocked by the projector. As a result, a part of the image projected on the combiner may not be visible.
SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is to solve the above-described problems, and to obtain a projector arrangement method and a HUD of a HUD that can reduce the obstruction of a user's view by the projector.
The HUD projector arrangement method according to the present invention includes a projector that outputs display light and a projection member that projects the display light output from the projector, and the projector and the projection member are arranged on a support surface. A head-up display provided independently of each other is characterized in that the projector is arranged on the support surface while being shifted to the left side or the right side from the line connecting the viewpoint and the projection member.
According to the present invention, since the projector is located at a position shifted to the left or right from the line connecting the viewpoint and the projection member, there is an effect that obstruction of the user's view by the projector can be reduced. In particular, in the case where a part of the user's field of view is obstructed even if the space obstructed by the projector is shifted in the vertical direction as described above, in the present invention, the projector is provided on the left side or the right side in addition to the vertical direction. Therefore, the visibility of the projection member is improved, and the convenience of the HUD is improved.

FIG. 1A is a view of HUD 1 according to the first embodiment as viewed from above, and FIG. 1B is a view of HUD 1 as viewed from the viewpoint A side.

FIG. 2 is a diagram showing a
As shown in FIG. 2A, in the
In this state, the

As described above, the

As described above, the
