Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrostatic touch panel control device that detects contact of a human finger or the like based on a change in capacitance of a touch panel.
The electrostatic touch panel control device compares the capacitance value of the electrostatic touch panel with a threshold value, and detects contact with a human finger or the like. Since the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel change with time and temperature, the detection accuracy is improved by making the threshold value follow the characteristic change of the electrostatic touch panel (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
However, since the conventional electrostatic touch panel control device is configured to update the threshold value based on the capacitance value when a human finger or the like is not in contact, the human finger or the like is in contact. There was a problem that it was not possible to follow the characteristic change of the electrostatic touch panel in the middle.
For example, an in-vehicle electrostatic touch panel has a different temperature range from that of an electrostatic touch panel mounted on a general commercial product, and must be assumed to be used in an environment of −40 degrees to 85 degrees. However, a person's body temperature is stable at around 35 degrees, and when the person and the electrostatic touch panel are in contact with each other with a temperature difference, the temperature of the surrounding touch panel rapidly changes. At this time, the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel greatly change due to a temperature change, causing an erroneous determination of the presence or absence of contact.
This invention was made in order to solve the above problems, and the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel changes during the touch due to the temperature difference between the electrostatic touch panel and the touch object, and the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel change. The purpose of this is to prevent erroneous determination of whether or not there is a touch.
An electrostatic touch panel control device according to the present invention includes a capacitance detection unit that detects a capacitance value of an electrostatic touch panel, and compares the capacitance value detected by the capacitance detection unit with a threshold value to make a touch object. A touch determination unit that determines presence or absence of touch, a characteristic change detection unit that detects a change in characteristics of a touch detection range that is determined to be touched by the touch determination unit, and a touch detection range that is detected by the characteristic change detection unit. When a characteristic change is detected, a threshold value control unit that controls the threshold value according to the characteristic change is provided.
According to the present invention, the threshold value is controlled in accordance with the change in the characteristic of the touch detection range determined to be touched. Therefore, the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel during the touch is caused by the temperature difference between the electrostatic touch panel and the touch object. It is possible to prevent erroneous determination of the presence / absence of touch, which occurs when the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel change.
Embodiment 1 FIG.
As shown in FIG. 1, the electrostatic touch panel 1 has a plurality of electrodes X1 to X4 and Y1 to Y4 arranged in directions of the X axis and the Y axis which are orthogonal to each other. The touch
Here, a configuration example in which four electrodes are arranged on the X axis and the Y axis is shown, but the number of electrodes is not limited thereto. The electrode driving method is not limited to the above example. For example, the electrodes on the X-axis side may be sequentially driven and the electrodes on the Y-axis side may be simultaneously driven.
The
Hereinafter, a person's finger or the like that contacts the electrostatic touch panel 1 is referred to as a “touch object”, and contact of the touch object with the electrostatic touch panel 1 is referred to as “touch”.
The
The
Hereinafter, a range including electrode intersections determined to be touched by the
When the temperature of the touch object is higher than the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1, the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 rises. Conversely, when the temperature of the touch object is lower than the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1, the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 decreases. Since the dielectric constant of the electrostatic touch panel 1 is temperature-dependent, the capacitance value changes when the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 changes, and it is determined that there is no touch even though the touch object is touched. A misjudgment occurs. In the present invention, the characteristic change of the electrostatic touch panel 1 is detected by the characteristic
The characteristic
In the first embodiment, the characteristic change is a change in the capacitance value at the electrode intersection included in the touch detection range. For example, the characteristic
The
FIG. 2 is a block diagram illustrating an internal configuration example of the
In the following, one electrode intersection point (for example, the electrode intersection point of electrodes X1 and Y1) will be described as a threshold control target, but the same operation is performed for other electrode intersection points.
(1) The 1st threshold value
The
The
(2) Second Threshold Control Performed when Touch is Determined The threshold value at the previous drive time of the target electrode intersection is notified from the
When the
Note that the
On the other hand, when the

The
FIG. 3 is a graph showing a change in capacitance when only the first threshold control is performed by the
When there is no temperature difference between the electrostatic touch panel 1 and the touch object, the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 does not change and the characteristics do not change even during the touch period in which the touch object is touching the electrostatic touch panel 1. Only changes in the capacitance value can be detected. Therefore, even if only the first threshold control is performed, the presence / absence of touch can be accurately determined.
FIG. 4 is a graph showing a change in capacitance when only the first threshold control by the
When the temperature of the touch object is higher than that of the electrostatic touch panel 1, heat is transferred from the touch object to the electrostatic touch panel 1 during the touch period, and the capacitance detection value also changes as the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 changes before and after the touch. To do. In FIG. 4, since the second threshold control is not performed, the capacitance detection value exceeds the threshold due to the temperature rise of the electrostatic touch panel 1, and it is determined that there is no touch despite the touch period.
In addition, after a touch thing leaves | separates from the electrostatic touch panel 1, 1st threshold value control works and a threshold value approaches an electrostatic capacitance detection value. However, due to the filter characteristics of the
FIG. 5 is a graph showing the change in capacitance when the first and second threshold control by the
Since the second threshold value control is performed, when the temperature of the touch object is higher than that of the electrostatic touch panel 1, the change in the capacitance value of the touch detection range is detected by the characteristic change detection unit 7 (FIG. 5). At time t1), the threshold value changes in accordance with the change of the capacitance detection value accompanying the temperature change of the electrostatic touch panel 1. For this reason, the capacitance detection value and the threshold value are not reversed during the touch period, and the touch determination operation is stabilized.
Moreover, since the first threshold value control is performed and the threshold value is ensured in a stable state even after the touch object is separated from the electrostatic touch panel 1, the accuracy of the touch determination is not deteriorated.
Although illustration is omitted, even when the temperature of the touch object is lower than that of the electrostatic touch panel 1, the temperature of the touch object is transmitted to the electrostatic touch panel 1 and the capacitance detection value changes. Even in this case, the second threshold value control enables accurate touch determination during the touch period without the capacitance detection value and the threshold value being reversed.
As described above, according to the first embodiment, the
In the first embodiment, the characteristic
FIG. 6 is a diagram in which electrode intersections where the electrodes X1 to X5 and the electrodes Y1 to Y7 of the electrostatic touch panel 1 intersect each other are expressed as a grid. The capacitance detection level detected at the electrode intersection is expressed by shading. The larger the detection level, the darker the grid color. FIG. 7 is a graph showing a change in capacitance detected at the intersection of the electrodes X3 and Y2 and the intersection of the electrodes X3 and Y4. The horizontal axis of the graph is time, the vertical axis is the capacitance value, and the solid line is the capacitance value (detected value) detected by the
When the touched object touches a plurality of electrode intersections, the center of the touch (intersection of electrodes X3 and Y4 in the examples of FIGS. 6 and 7) can stably detect the capacitance value. On the other hand, the capacitance value decreases as the distance from the center of the touch decreases, and the capacitance value is likely to fluctuate due to the influence of how the touch object is pressed (in the example of FIGS. 6 and 7, the intersection of the electrodes X3 and Y2). ). In the second embodiment, the characteristic

By generating the threshold value of the touch peripheral part using the capacitance value of the touch center part capable of stable detection, it is possible to stably determine whether or not the touch peripheral part is touched.

In the first and second embodiments, the configuration is such that the change in the capacitance value of the touch detection range is detected as the characteristic change of the electrostatic touch panel 1. However, in the third embodiment, when the temperature of the touch detection range changes. It is treated as if the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel 1 have changed.
FIG. 9 shows a configuration example of the touch panel system according to the third embodiment. 9, parts that are the same as or equivalent to those in FIG. 1 are given the same reference numerals, and descriptions thereof are omitted. In the third embodiment, the
The
In addition, since the absolute value of the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 is not necessary as temperature information, it is only necessary to know whether or not there is a temperature change, so the

When the target electrode intersection is touched and there is a temperature change, it is considered that the capacitance value changes according to the temperature change during the touch. In this case, the
On the other hand, when the target electrode intersection is touched and there is no temperature change, it is considered that the capacitance value does not change during the touch. In this case, the
As described above, according to the third embodiment, the characteristic
Here, a modification of the third embodiment will be described.

FIG. 12 shows a configuration example of the touch panel system according to the fourth embodiment. In FIG. 12, the same or corresponding parts as those in FIGS. 1 and 9 are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted. In the fourth embodiment, the
In the first to third embodiments, the
For example, when the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 is equal to the temperature of the touch object (for example, 30 degrees to 40 degrees), the change in characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel 1 during the touch is negligible. Do not implement. On the contrary, when the temperature difference between the electrostatic touch panel 1 and the touched object is large, the characteristics of the electrostatic touch panel 1 change during the touch and the accuracy of the touch determination is lowered. Therefore, the second threshold control is performed.
The temperature range for switching between the first threshold control and the second threshold control is determined by, for example, measuring the correspondence between the temperature of the electrostatic touch panel 1 and the capacitance value, and setting it in the characteristic

As described above, according to the fourth embodiment, the
