Description

The present invention relates to a connector that prevents foreign matters such as dust, dust, and flux from entering inside and adhering to contact terminals and the like.

The connector described in Patent Document 1 is provided on one surface of a housing, a female contact terminal that fits into a protruding contact inserted from the outside, a housing that houses the female contact terminal, A shield member made of an insulating elastic material that covers the front of the insertion end of the female contact terminal and substantially seals the female contact terminal from the outside, and is formed at a position facing the insertion end of the female contact terminal of the shield member. It has a notch. The notch is closed by elasticity when the protruding contact is not inserted, and the notched portion protrudes by elasticity when the protruding contact is inserted into the female contact terminal through the notch from the outside. In close contact with the surface of the contact.

In such a conventional connector, in the state where the protruding contact is not inserted into the connector, the cut is almost completely closed by the elasticity of the shielding plate, while blocking the entry of foreign matter from the outside, When a protruding contact is inserted through the female contact terminal of the connector, the inside of the connector is almost completely cut off from the outside by sticking to the contact surface by the restoring force of the cut. Structure.

Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 6-223681

However, in the above conventional connector, the band-shaped shielding member is adhered and fixed to only one surface of the thin housing so as to cover the front surface of the insertion end of the female contact terminal. The area is small. Therefore, if the adhesive strength of the shielding member is insufficient or the shielding member is adhered and fixed in a state slightly deviated from one surface of the housing, the front surface of the insertion end of the female contact terminal cannot be reliably sealed. There was a possibility that foreign matter could not be blocked.

Therefore, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to reliably prevent dust and dirt from the outside from entering the connector and adhering to the female terminal by reliably covering with the shielding member. It is.

In order to solve the above-described problems, a connector according to the present invention includes a first member having a plurality of male terminals, a plurality of members that are coupled to the first member and are in contact with and electrically connected to the plurality of male terminals. A first member having a female terminal, and a shielding member that covers at least the second member from the female terminal side and is provided with a notch that normally closes the insertion / extraction opening of the female terminal, When the member and the second member are combined, the shielding member is pressed against the first member.

Moreover, in one Embodiment of the connector based on this invention, a 1st member consists of a pin header or a plug, and a 2nd member consists of a pin socket or a receptacle.

In one embodiment of the connector according to the present invention, the shielding member is provided with a ring-shaped concave groove around the notch.

Moreover, in one Embodiment of the connector which concerns on this invention, the long hole which accommodates a female-type terminal is provided in the shielding member, and the said notch is provided in the bottom part of this long hole.

Furthermore, in one Embodiment of the connector which concerns on this invention, the shielding member consists of sponges.

The connector of the present invention covers at least the second member from the female terminal side with the shielding member, and the cut provided in the shielding member normally closes the insertion / extraction port of the female terminal, and the first member, the second member, Since the shielding member is in pressure contact with the first member when it is coupled, dust or dust can be reliably prevented from entering the insertion / extraction port of the second member from the outside, and the female terminal Foreign matter such as flux does not adhere to the surface.

In the connector of the present invention, since the shielding member is made of sponge, the first member and the shielding member are easily compressed and deformed by an external force, and the first member and the second member are joined. It is possible to improve the adhesion.

Hereinafter, a first embodiment of a connector according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3. The connector 1 according to this embodiment includes a first member 2 having a plurality of pin headers 3 and a second member 4 having a plurality of pin sockets 5 for receiving the pin headers 3 when coupled to the first members 2. And a block-shaped shielding member 6 disposed on the second member 4 so as to cover the pin socket 5. The first member 2 is formed by arranging five pin headers 3 at equal intervals on a rectangular plate-like base 7, and the body 3 a of each pin header 3 is inserted and fixed to the base 7.

On the other hand, the second member 4 is obtained by inserting and fixing a housing 5a of five pin sockets 5 on a base 8 having substantially the same shape as the base 7 of the first member 2. The five pin sockets 5 are arranged on the base 8 at equal intervals, and correspond to the arrangement positions of the pin headers 3. A contact 5b is provided in the housing 5a of the pin socket 5 so as to contact the pin post 3b serving as the male terminal of the pin header 3, and the contact 5b serving as the female terminal extends below the base 8. It is connected to 5c. Further, an insertion / extraction opening 5d into which the pin post 3b of the pin header 3 is inserted is provided on the upper surface of the housing 5a.

The shielding member 6 covering each pin socket 5 of the second member 4 is made of a block-like elastic member, and in order to accommodate the housing 5a of the pin socket 5, a long hole 9 having substantially the same shape as the housing 5a is formed. The shield member 6 is provided from the lower surface 6b side. The housing 5a of the pin socket 5 protruding from the upper surface 8a of the base 8 is fitted into each elongated hole 9 of the shielding member 6, and the lower surface 6b of the shielding member 6 is brought into contact with the upper surface 8a of the base 8, thereby The whole 5a is covered with the shielding member 6. As shown in FIG. 1, the shielding member 6 in this embodiment has a rectangular parallelepiped shape having a lower surface 6 b having substantially the same shape as the upper surface 8 a of the base 8, and the lower surface 6 b is bonded to the upper surface 8 a of the base 8. It is fixed.

Further, the upper surface 6 a of the shielding member 6 is provided with a notch 10 communicating with the bottom of the elongated hole 9. As shown in FIG. 1, the notch 10 is cut in a cross shape and is normally closed by the elasticity of the shielding member 6, while being pushed open by the pin post 3 b of the pin header 3.

The shielding member 6 is preferably an elastic body that can be easily compressed and deformed by an external force. For example, the shielding member 6 is a porous material having a large number of fine holes therein, such as a sponge formed by foaming a synthetic resin such as urethane. Made of soft material.

As described above, in the present embodiment, the plurality of pin sockets 5 are covered with the shielding member 6 and the cuts 10 are normally closed by elasticity. Dust and the like do not enter, and adhesion of flux and the like is reliably prevented.

FIG. 3 shows a state in which the first member 2 and the second member 4 are coupled. The pin header 3 of the first member 2 is aligned with the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6 covering the pin socket 5 of the second member 4, and the pin post 3b is pushed into the notch 10 provided on the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6. At this time, the notch 10 is pushed open against the elasticity of the shielding member 6. The pin post 3b is further inserted into the housing 5a from the insertion / extraction opening 5d, and is brought into contact with the contact 5b for electrical connection. By pushing the first member 2 to a predetermined position, the shielding member 6 is appropriately pressed and deformed between the base 7 of the first member 2 and the base 8 of the second member 4. It undergoes compression deformation so that the thickness t between the upper end provided with 5d and the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6 is crushed. In this way, the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6 that has undergone compression deformation appropriately presses the lower surface of the base 7 of the first member 2 and the notch 10 is in close contact with the periphery of the pin post 3b by its restoring force. The insertion / extraction opening 5d of the housing 5 is reliably closed, and it is possible to reliably prevent external dust or dust from entering the housing 5a from the insertion / extraction opening 5d.

FIGS. 4 to 6 show a connector 11 according to a second embodiment of the present invention. Since this connector 11 has the same configuration as the connector 1 according to the first embodiment, except that the ring-shaped concave groove 12 is formed on the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6 disposed in the second member 4, Detailed description is omitted by attaching the same reference numerals. The concave grooves 12 are provided around the notches 10, respectively. In particular, in this embodiment, adjacent concave grooves 12 are connected to each other as shown in FIG. In addition, each concave groove 12 may form an independent ring.

As described above, by forming the ring-shaped concave groove 12 around the notch 10 on the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6, the periphery of the notch 10 of the shielding member 6 is more easily subjected to compressive deformation, and FIG. As shown, when the first member 2 and the second member 4 are joined together, the upper surface 6a of the shielding member 6 is pressed against the lower surface of the base 7 of the first member 2 so as to fit tightly.

7 and 8 show a connector 21 according to a third embodiment of the present invention. The connector 21 has the same configuration as that of the connector 11 according to the second embodiment except that the first member 2 is also provided with a shielding member 16 made of an elastic body. Description is omitted. The shielding member 16 disposed on the first member 2 is made of a rectangular parallelepiped sponge having an upper surface 16 a having substantially the same shape as the lower surface of the base 7 of the first member 2, similar to the shielding member 6 of the second member 4. The upper surface 16 a is bonded and fixed to the lower surface of the base 7. Further, in order to accommodate the pin post 3 b in the shielding member 16, an elongated hole 17 having substantially the same shape as the pin post 3 b is opened from the upper surface 16 a side of the shielding member 6. The entire pin post 3b is covered by fitting the pin post 3b protruding downward.

Furthermore, a cross-shaped notch 18 that communicates with the bottom of the elongated hole 17 is provided on the lower surface 16 b of the shielding member 16, similar to the shielding member 6 of the second member 4, and around the notch 18. A ring-shaped concave groove 19 is provided. Thus, in the present embodiment, the plurality of pin posts 3b are covered with the shielding member 16, and the cut 18 is normally closed by elasticity, so that dust, dust, etc. enter the elongated hole 17 from the outside. In addition, no flux or the like adheres to the pin post 3b.

In the connector 21 according to this embodiment, when the first member 2 and the second member 4 are coupled, the first member 2 is placed on the second member 4, and is provided on both the shielding members 6 and 16. The cuts 10 and 18 overlap in a straight line. Therefore, when the first member 2 is pressed against the second member 4, the pin post 3 b of the pin header 3 pushes open the cuts 10 and 18 that are in a straight line, and is inserted into the insertion / extraction opening 5 d of the pin socket 5. As shown, the pin post 3b comes into contact with the contact 5b and is electrically connected by being inserted into the housing 5a.

In this embodiment, the compressibility of both shielding members 6 and 16 is larger than in any of the previous embodiments, but the material of the shielding members 6 and 16 is sponge-like, and both the shielding members 6 and 16 are cut. Since the ring-shaped concave grooves 12 and 19 are provided around 10 and 18, the shield members 6 and 16 can be flexibly compressed and deformed, and the first member 2 and the second member 4 are in an appropriate positional relationship. The pin posts 3b and the contacts 5b can be reliably brought into contact with each other.

As described above, in this embodiment, when the first member 2 and the second member 4 are not coupled, not only the pin socket 5 but also the pin header 3 can prevent the entry and adhesion of external dust and dirt. When the first member 2 and the second member 4 are joined, the upper surface 6a of the one shielding member 6 compressed and deformed and the lower surface 16b of the other shielding member 16 are in close contact with each other. The opening 5d can be reliably closed, and external dust or dust can be reliably prevented from entering the housing 5a from the insertion / extraction opening 5d.

9 to 11 show a connector 31 according to a fourth embodiment of the present invention. This connector 31 is applied to a narrow pitch connector composed of a plug 32 as a first member and a receptacle 33 as a second member. The plug 32 includes a plurality of male terminals 34 arranged on the left and right at a narrow pitch, and the receptacle 33 includes a plurality of female terminals 35 arranged on the left and right at the same narrow pitch as the male terminals 34. A support wall 33 c is provided between the left and right female terminals 35.

The connector 31 in this embodiment includes a first elastic cover 36 as a shielding member attached to the plug 32 and a second elastic cover 37 as a shielding member attached to the receptacle 33. The first elastic cover 36 has an upper surface 36 a and both side surfaces 36 b that cover the male terminal 34 side of the plug 32. As shown in FIG. 10, the both side surfaces 36b have a height at which the lower ends thereof come into contact with the overhang portions 32b of the housing 32a. Therefore, external dust or dust does not enter the inside from the lower ends of the side surfaces 36b. In addition, a pair of linear cuts 38 are provided along the longitudinal direction at a position corresponding to the top of the male terminal 34 on the upper surface 36a of the first elastic cover 36. The length of the cuts 38 includes all of the plurality of male terminals 34 arranged, and cuts 38 a having a slight width are provided at both ends so as to be orthogonal to the linear cuts 38.

Therefore, the entire male terminal 34 can be covered with the upper surface 36a and both side surfaces 36b by covering the entire plug 32 with the first elastic cover 36 from the male terminal 34 side. The notch 38 on the upper surface 36a is normally closed by an elastic action, and the lower ends of both side surfaces 36b are in contact with the overhanging portions 32b of the housing 32a. Dust and dust do not enter the first elastic cover 36, and adhesion of foreign matter to the male terminal 34 can be reliably prevented.

On the other hand, the second elastic cover 37 attached to the receptacle 33 has an upper surface 37a and both side surfaces 37b so as to cover the entire receptacle 33 from the female terminal 35 side. As shown in FIG. 10, both side surfaces 37b have a height at which the lower ends thereof come into contact with the overhanging portions 33b of the housing 33a, so that external dust and dirt enter the inside from the lower ends of the side surfaces 37b. There is nothing to do. In addition, three linear cuts 39 are provided along the longitudinal direction on the upper surface 37 a of the second elastic cover 37, and both ends of each cut 39 have a slight width so as to be orthogonal to the cuts 39. A cut 39a is provided. The three linear cuts 39 are provided at the center along the support wall 33c between the left and right female terminals 35, and the cuts 38 provided on the first elastic cover 36 at the two sides. It is provided outside the position. This is to prevent both elastic covers 36 and 37 from obstructing when the male terminal 34 of the plug 32 is fitted into the female terminal 35 of the receptacle 33.

Therefore, the female terminal 35 can be covered with the upper surface 37a and both side surfaces 37b by covering the entire receptacle 33 with the second elastic cover 37 from the female terminal 35 side. The three cuts 39 on the upper surface 37a are normally closed by elastic action, and the lower ends of both side surfaces 37b are in contact with the protruding portions 33b of the housing 33a. Thus, external dust or dust does not enter the second elastic cover 37 from the outside, and foreign matter can be reliably prevented from adhering to the female terminal 35. The first elastic cover 36 and the second elastic cover 37 are preferably made of a sponge obtained by foaming a synthetic resin such as urethane, like the shielding members 6 and 16 described in the above embodiment.

10 and 11 show the connector 31 before and after the plug 32 and the receptacle 33 are joined. As shown in FIG. 10, when the male terminal 34 of the plug 32 is fitted into the female terminal 35 of the receptacle 33, the plug 32 is pressed so as to be fitted into the receptacle 33. As a result, the male terminal 34 pushes open the cut 38 of the first elastic cover 36 and the cut 39 of the second elastic cover 37 against the elasticity of the cover, and is fitted into the female terminal 35 as shown in FIG. It is. Thus, electrical connection is achieved by pushing the male terminal 34 to a predetermined position and bringing it into contact with the female terminal 35. Further, at this time, the first elastic cover 36 and the second elastic cover 37 are appropriately compressed and deformed and pressed against each other.

Specifically, as shown in FIG. 10, the first elastic cover 36 includes two cuts 38, and the first elastic portion 40 a, the second elastic portion 40 b, and the third elastic portion 40 c are connected to the receptacle 33. When receiving a pressing action from the side, it is compressed and deformed to become a first compression part 41a, a second compression part 41b, and a third compression part 41c, respectively, as shown in FIG. Further, as shown in FIG. 10, the second elastic cover 37 includes three cuts 39, and includes a fourth elastic part 42a, a fifth elastic part 42b, a sixth elastic part 42c, and a seventh elastic part 42d. When receiving a pressing action from the plug 32 side, as shown in FIG. 11, only the fifth elastic portion 42b and the sixth elastic portion 42c are compressed and deformed, and the fifth compression portion 43b and the sixth compression portion, respectively. 43c, and the outer fourth elastic portion 42a and the seventh elastic portion 42d remain as they are without being compressed and deformed.

As described above, even when the connector 31 is integrally connected, the contact portion between the male terminal 34 and the female terminal 35 and the entire housings 32a and 33a are entirely covered by the first elastic cover 36 and the second elastic cover. 37, and the housings 32a and 33a are in pressure contact with each other, so it is possible to reliably prevent foreign dust and dirt from entering the housings 32a and 33a and foreign matters from adhering to the contact portions between the terminals. Can do.
