端末装置10は、人体の手首2などに装着され内蔵するセンサー部140を手首2に接触させることにより、ランニングやエアロビクスなどの運動時における様々な動作の中であっても正確に脈拍数や活動量などの生体情報や活動情報を測定することができる腕時計型の測定機器である。また、端末装置10は、近距離無線8を介して、ユーザーが使用するロッカー20の開施錠を指示する腕時計型の電子錠の機能を有している。端末装置10は、スイミングプールやシャワーなどの水中においても常時装着して生体情報や活動情報を測定できるように防水構造を有している。
サーバー30では、端末装置10とユーザーが使用するロッカー20との対応付けが行われ、対応付けされたロッカー20のロッカー番号251が端末装置10に送信される。端末装置10は、受信したロッカー番号251をEPD(Electrophoretic Display)などの表示装置であるロッカー番号表示部151に表示する。
ロッカー20は、制御部210(後述する)を備え、制御部210により制御されるロック構造部213、表示部250、通信部280を有して構成されている。ロッカー20は、ロッカー20の識別子であるロッカー番号251と対応付けられた端末装置10が近接すると、通信部280を制御して近距離無線8により通信を行い、端末装置10を装着するユーザーが本人であることが認証されるとロック構造部213のロックを開錠する。
ロッカー20の表示部250には、端末装置10から送信されたユーザーの生体情報や活動情報など、およびサーバー30から送信されたユーザーに有益なトレーニング情報などの情報が表示される。図7(a)に示す表示画面D10は、端末装置10が運動開始前に初めてロッカー20を開錠したときに表示される画面例であり、図7(b)に示す表示画面D20は、当日の運動量などの身体情報が表示される画面例である。表示画面D10では、サーバー30側でユーザーのために選択した「本日のおすすめプログラム」の情報が表示され、表示画面D20では、当日運動した消費カロリーや最大脈拍数などの情報が表示されている。

ブルートゥースアダプターでは、無線LANアダプターよりも通信距離が短く、端末装置10およびロッカー20との間で電波の飛距離が短く設定された送信出力クラスが用いられる。通信部180では、ロッカー20とブルートゥースアダプターの通信中に、ロッカー20と端末装置10との距離が離れたことにより電波を受信できなくなったことを検出する機能を備えている。
