Description

The present invention relates to a structure of a tank for storing a liquid.

An oil pan, which is a tank for storing lubricating oil used in the internal combustion engine, is disposed below the cylinder block. Such an oil pan is provided with a drain hole that communicates the inside and the outside, and drain holes (or drain plugs) are used for drain holes except when it is necessary to drain oil from the oil pan such as oil exchange. It is used in the state that is closed. In order to discharge a larger amount of oil when the oil is changed, it is conceivable to form a drain hole in the bottom wall of the oil pan. However, when the drain hole is formed in the bottom wall of the oil pan, the head of the drain bolt protrudes downward from the bottom wall of the oil pan, which causes the following problems.

In other words, when such a configuration is adopted, the distance from the road surface to the head of the drain bolt is short, the head of the drain bolt hits the road surface when traveling on a rough road, etc., and oil leaks due to loose tightening of the drain bolt. May occur. In addition, in order to secure a distance from the road surface to the lower end of the oil pan at a predetermined distance or more, in the configuration in which the drain hole is formed in the bottom wall of the oil pan, the distance from the road surface to the bottom wall of the oil pan is the predetermined distance. It is necessary to set the distance by adding the height of the head of the drain bolt. That is, since it is necessary to set the internal combustion engine upward as a whole, the center of gravity of a vehicle equipped with such an internal combustion engine is increased, and drivability may be deteriorated.

Therefore, conventionally, the drain hole is provided in an inclined wall that floats more than the bottom wall. By adopting such a configuration, it is possible to prevent the above-described problems caused by the head of the drain bolt protruding downward beyond the lower end of the bottom wall of the oil pan. From the periphery of the drain hole, a drain boss is formed with a female screw for screwing a drain bolt to the inner periphery.

In addition, it is known that the following configuration is adopted in order to discharge a larger amount of oil when the oil is changed. That is, a through hole (lateral hole) that allows the inner and outer circumferences of the drain boss to communicate with each other is formed in the lower end of the drain boss, and oil can be discharged through the through hole (for example, a patent Reference 1).

Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 61-145818

However, the conventional configuration in which a through hole that allows the inner periphery and the outer periphery of the drain boss to communicate with each other at the lower end of the drain boss causes the following problems. That is, such a through hole is likely to be clogged with foreign matter, and when the foreign matter is clogged in the through hole, the through hole is closed. Then, when the oil level reaches the upper edge of the drain boss during the oil change, no more oil is discharged, and much oil remains in the oil pan.

The problems described above are present not only in oil pans that are tanks for storing lubricating oil, but also in general tanks that store liquid in internal combustion engines and the like.

The present invention pays attention to the above points, and an object of the present invention is to suppress the occurrence of a problem that a large amount of liquid remains in the tank when the liquid in the tank is replaced.

In order to solve the above problems, the structure of the tank according to the present invention has the following configuration. That is, the structure of the tank for storing liquid according to the present invention has a bottom wall and an inclined surface that is inclined with respect to the bottom wall and has a drain hole for discharging the stored liquid that floats above the bottom wall. A drain boss on the inner surface side of the inclined wall, the drain boss standing on the periphery of the drain hole and having a female screw for screwing the drain bolt on the inner periphery, and the drain boss on the side closer to the bottom wall of the drain boss A notch cut out from the edge toward the inclined wall, and a guide portion in the vicinity of the lower end of the notch and approaching upward as it approaches the drain hole.

In such a case, when the drain bolt is removed from the drain boss in order to replace the liquid inside the tank, the liquid inside the tank is notched and drained from the upper edge of the drain boss toward the inclined wall. It is discharged from the drain hole through the inside of the boss. Since this notch opens upward, foreign matter is unlikely to accumulate inside the notch, so that the liquid can be discharged to the outside more reliably until the liquid level reaches the lower end of the notch.

In the present invention, the “drain bolt” refers to all male screw members called “drain plugs” for closing drain holes.

ADVANTAGE OF THE INVENTION According to this invention, when replacing | exchanging the liquid in a tank, generation | occurrence | production of the malfunction that many liquids remain in a tank can be suppressed.

One embodiment of the present invention will be described below with reference to FIGS.

The tank of the present embodiment is an oil pan that stores lubricating oil used in an internal combustion engine.

The oil pan, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 4, discharges the stored liquid that floats above the bottom wall 1 and forms the bottom surface of the space for storing the lubricating oil. And a drain boss 3 rising from the periphery of the drain hole 2 a on the inner surface side of the inclined wall 2, and a side wall 4 rising from the periphery of the bottom wall 1.

As shown in FIG. 1, the bottom wall 1 is inclined at the one end edge 1 a side upward as it goes toward the outer periphery. That is, when the oil is exchanged, the bottom wall 1 is formed so that the oil flows toward the other end edge 1b. From the vicinity of the other end edge 1 b of the bottom wall 1, an inclined wall 2 is provided so as to float above the bottom wall 1.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 3, the inclined wall 2 extends obliquely upward while being inclined with respect to the bottom wall 1 from a portion in the vicinity of the other end edge 1 b of the bottom wall 1. A drain hole 2a is formed at a position below the inclined wall 2 and spaced from the lower end. As described above, the drain boss 3 stands upright on the inner surface side of the inclined wall 2 with respect to the bottom wall 1 from the periphery of the drain hole 2a.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the drain boss 3 is formed with a female screw 3 a for screwing the drain bolt 5 on the inner periphery thereof. The drain hole 2a can be closed by screwing the drain bolt 5 onto the female screw 3a.

Further, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the oil pan of the present embodiment was cut out from the upper edge of the drain boss 3 toward the inclined wall 2 at a portion near the bottom wall 1 of the drain boss 3. A notch 6 is further provided.

The notch 6 is open upward and extends from the upper edge to the lower end of the drain boss 3. That is, the inner periphery of the drain boss 3 communicates with the outer periphery through the notch 6 from the upper edge to the lower end.

In addition, as shown in FIG. 3, the oil pan according to the present embodiment further includes a guide portion 7 that moves upward toward the drain hole 2 a in the vicinity of the lower end of the notch 6.

More specifically, the guide portion 7 is provided at the boundary between the bottom wall 1 and the inclined wall 2, and has a first guide portion 71 having an inclination that goes upward as it approaches the drain hole 2 a, and the notch 6. The second guide portion 72 is provided at the lower end and similarly has an inclination that goes upward as it approaches the drain hole 2a.

The oil pan normally stores lubricating oil in a state where the drain bolt 5 is screwed onto the female screw 3a of the drain boss 3 to close the drain hole 2a.

When the state where the drain bolt 5 is screwed to the female screw 3a of the drain boss 3 to replace the lubricating oil stored in the oil pan is released, the inside and outside of the oil pan communicate with each other through the drain hole 2a. In this way, it flows out of the oil pan.

That is, until the liquid level reaches the upper edge 3x of the drain boss 3, the lubricating oil is discharged to the outside from above the drain boss 3 through the internal space of the drain boss 3 and the drain hole 2a.

When the liquid level reaches the upper edge 3x of the drain boss 3, most of the oil remaining in the oil pan flows toward the edge 1b on the side where the inclined wall 2 and the drain boss 3 are provided. When this oil flow approaches the drain boss 3 (drain hole 2a), it is guided by the guide portion 7 and slightly upwards, hits the outer wall far from the bottom wall 1 of the drain boss 3 through the notch 6, and drains. It is discharged to the outside through the internal space of the boss 3 and the drain hole 2a. Further, when the foreign matter mixed in the oil reaches the notch 6, it flows in the notch 6 slightly upward, reaches the internal space of the drain boss 3, and is discharged to the outside through the drain hole 2a.

When the liquid level reaches the lower end 6x of the notch 6, no more oil is discharged to the outside.

As described above, according to the present embodiment, the notch 6 that is notched from the upper edge of the drain boss 3 toward the inclined wall 2 at the portion near the bottom wall 1 of the drain boss 3 is opened upward. Since it is provided, the oil in the notch 6 is easy to circulate, and it is possible to prevent foreign matter from accumulating in the notch 6 and oil from being retained. Therefore, the liquid can be discharged outside until the liquid level reaches the lower end 6x of the notch 6 more reliably.

In the conventional configuration, the oil that has passed through the through hole that connects the outer periphery and the inner periphery of the drain boss 3 during oil replacement may directly reach the drain hole 2a and jump out in a direction close to the horizontal. On the other hand, in the configuration of the present embodiment, the guide portion 7 is provided near the lower end 5x of the notch 6 and urges upward as it approaches the drain hole 2a. The oil flow reaching the vicinity of the drain hole 2a passes through the notch 6 and hits the outer wall far from the bottom wall 1 of the drain boss 3 and is discharged to the outside through the internal space of the drain boss 3 and the drain hole 2a. Therefore, oil can be more reliably collected in the container disposed below the drain hole 2a when the oil is changed.

The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above.

For example, the present invention can be applied to all tanks for storing liquid. A preferable example is a tank for storing transmission oil used in an internal combustion engine.

Moreover, as long as the inclined wall inclines with respect to the bottom wall and floats rather than the bottom wall, you may employ | adopt the shape of a bottom wall and an inclined wall.

In addition, various changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
