Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a radiation detection endoscope that performs high-dose radiation dose range monitoring.
In recent years, there has been a need for decommissioning of nuclear power plant reactors. For example, a nuclear power plant reactor that has been in operation for a long time. In order to proceed with such decommissioning work, it is necessary to inspect the dose in the reactor. However, since the inside of the nuclear reactor cannot be directly visually confirmed, it is assumed that the inspection is performed while viewing the internal state with an endoscope.
In the prior art, there were no radiation detection endoscopes used in nuclear reactors. If it dares to mention prior art, although the industrial field is different, there exists a radiation detection endoscope for detecting medical radiation. For example, what is disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2 is known. The radiation detection endoscopes described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 are both equipped with a radiation detection sensor at the tip.
Among these radiation detection endoscopes, the radiation detection endoscope disclosed in Patent Document 2 will be exemplarily described with reference to FIG. As shown in FIG. 6, the radiation detection endoscope 500 includes a radiation detection sensor 501, a detection optical system 502, a photoelectric conversion element 503, a light source 504, a rotation switching unit 505, an image processing unit 506, and optical fibers 507 and 508. . This radiation detection endoscope 500 is disclosed in FIG.
In this radiation detection endoscope 500, for the detection and diagnosis of cancer, a substance that specifically collects in cancer cells is labeled with a radioisotope, and the radiation detection sensor 501 detects the radiation emitted from the cancer cells. Detect as cells. A radiation detection sensor 501 equipped with a light-transmitting scintillator (a scintillation crystal is adopted in Patent Document 2) at the distal end portion of the radiation detection endoscope 500 that is inserted into the body, and the surroundings of the radiation detection sensor 501 A detection optical system 502 that obtains an optical image is arranged side by side.
When radiation detection is performed, the photoelectric conversion element 503 is selected by the rotation switching unit 505. When radiation enters the radiation detection sensor 501, the scintillator flashes and emits scintillation light. The scintillation light is transmitted through an optical fiber 507 serving as a light transmission unit. A photoelectric conversion element 503 installed at the other end of the optical fiber 507 receives scintillation light from the radiation detection sensor 501. The photoelectric conversion element 503 is, for example, a photomultiplier tube, and converts received scintillation light into an electrical signal and outputs a pulse. An amount proportional to the number of pulses is detected as a radiation dose, and a specific part having a high dose is detected as a cancer cell.
When acquiring an image, the rotation switching unit 505 selects the light source 504, and the irradiation light from the light source 504 irradiates the cancer cell via the optical fiber 507 and the transmissive radiation detection sensor 501, and the detection optical system 502 and The image processing unit 506 outputs an optical signal obtained through the optical fiber 508 as an image signal. Thereby, visual observation around the cancer cell detected by radiation is enabled.
Although the radiation detection sensor 501 is a scintillator type radiation detection sensor equipped with a scintillator, the adoption of a semiconductor type radiation detection sensor is also considered. This semiconductor radiation detection sensor generates a depletion layer by applying a reverse bias to a diode-structured semiconductor, and collects electrons of electron-hole pairs generated when radiation passes through this depletion layer. One pulse is obtained for one radiation. The number of radiations that have passed through the semiconductor radiation detection sensor is proportional to the number of pulses. An amount proportional to the number of pulses is detected as a radiation dose, and a specific part having a high dose is detected as a cancer cell.
In the present invention, a radiation detection endoscope used in a high-dose radiation area is assumed, for example, as a decommissioning operation of an aging nuclear reactor in a nuclear power plant. The dose of radiation handled at a nuclear power plant is high, for example, 1 Sv to several tens Sv. Compared to the dose used in medical endoscopes, it is used in an environment where the dose is very high.
In such a high dose radiation region of 1 Sv to several tens of Sv, there is a problem if the semiconductor radiation detection sensor is mounted on the distal end portion of the endoscope. Semiconductor radiation detection sensors are equipped with electronic circuits such as preamplifiers, linear amplifiers, and comparators. However, there are concerns about the effects of circuit malfunctions and deterioration of electronic components in the high-dose radiation region. As described above, there is a restriction that a semiconductor radiation detection sensor cannot be employed in a high-dose radiation region.
In addition, in order to identify the presence and position of contaminants such as radioactive substances with a higher concentration in the high-dose radiation area, the radiation detection sensor is brought closer to the contaminant, that is, the endoscope distal end is brought closer to the contaminant. There is a need. However, if the distal end portion of the endoscope is brought close to contaminants, the distal end portion of the endoscope may be contaminated. At the distal end of the endoscope, in addition to the radiation detection sensor, an objective lens for obtaining an image of the environment of the distal end, an optical system for illumination, and a forceps unit for taking out an object at the distal end, this forceps unit A forceps channel or the like that is a hole for inserting a screw is installed. If these are contaminated with high-concentration radioactive materials, a large amount of labor such as cleaning is required. Furthermore, there is a possibility that it becomes unusable. There was a request not to approach the pollutant except for the radiation detection sensor.
In addition, when the tip is contaminated with radioactive material contaminants, even if a collimator as shown in FIG. 1 of Patent Document 2 is provided, the radiation detection sensor installed at the tip is not sensitive to the radioactive material to be detected. Therefore, it is difficult to distinguish the radiation from the contaminated portion adhering to the tip portion, and it may be difficult for the user of the endoscope to specify the radioactive substance.
In addition, when the radiation detection sensor attached to the tip of the endoscope is brought close to the contaminated part, the endoscope objective lens also approaches the contaminated part, the field of view becomes narrow, and it becomes difficult to identify the contaminated part. There are challenges.
Therefore, the present invention has been made in view of the above problems, and its purpose is to perform reliable radiation detection by bringing only the radiation detection sensor close to the detection target and to protect other portions from radiation.
At this time, when the
Radiation detection is performed in such a state. When the detection target on the front end surface emits radiation, the radiation transmitted through the
In addition, since the
The present embodiment described above has the following advantages.
The
Even if the
Further, since the
Next, another radiation detection endoscope of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 4 is a block diagram of a radiation detection endoscope according to another embodiment for carrying out the present invention, and FIG. 5 is an enlarged view of the distal end portion.
Compared with the embodiment described above with reference to FIGS. 1 to 3, the only difference is that a forceps portion is added to the configuration of the previous embodiment. In the present embodiment, only the forceps portion will be described, and for the other configurations, the same reference numerals used in the previous embodiment are used, and redundant description is omitted. In this embodiment, in addition to the configuration of the previous embodiment, a
A
The
The
In this embodiment, the grasping forceps that performs the operation of picking as the
Such a radiation detection endoscope 2 is capable of acquiring a sample to be detected in addition to the above-described effects of the radiation detection endoscope 1 described with reference to FIGS. It can be a good endoscope.
The radiation detection endoscope of the present invention has been described above. In the present embodiment, the embodiment including both the illumination optical system and the imaging optical system has been described. However, the illumination optical system may have a form in which an LED bulb is disposed at the tip and a power supply line is disposed in place of the optical fiber in the insertion portion. The present invention can also be applied to such a radiation detection endoscope.
The radiation detection endoscope of the present invention is suitable for use in a high-dose radiation region such as decommissioning work.
