Description

The present invention relates to a terminal fitting and a waterproof connector.

Conventionally, as a terminal fitting, what is provided with a terminal main body connected to a mating terminal and a wire connecting portion arranged on the rear side of the terminal main body and connected to a terminal of a covered electric wire is known. Is described in Patent Document 1 below.

The electric wire connection part which comprises a terminal metal fitting has the covering crimping part crimped with respect to the coating | cover in the terminal of a covered electric wire, and the core wire crimping part crimped with respect to the core wire exposed in the terminal of a covering electric wire. . Of these, the operation of caulking the core wire caulking portion is performed in a state where, for example, the end of the covered electric wire is set so that the tip end portion of the exposed core wire protrudes forward from the front end position of the core wire caulking portion. Thus, the certainty of caulking of the core caulking portion with respect to the core wire is secured.

At this time, the tip of the core wire that is not caulked against the portion caulked by the core caulking portion may be bent to rise, and the raised tip protrudes outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting. There is a risk of becoming. Then, for example, when the terminal fitting is used for a waterproof connector, when inserting the terminal fitting into the insertion hole formed in the batch rubber plug provided in the waterproof connector, the tip of the core wire protruding from the outer shape of the terminal fitting May be caught by the hole edge of the insertion hole and scratched.

This invention is completed based on the above situations, Comprising: It aims at preventing the catch of the core wire with respect to another member, ensuring the caulking certainty of the core wire crimping part with respect to a core wire.

The terminal fitting of the present invention is formed in a form continuous with the core wire caulking portion, the core wire caulking portion that is caulked to the exposed core wire main body excluding at least the tip portion of the core wire exposed at the end of the covered electric wire, and A core wire tip covering portion that is arranged to cover the tip portion of the core wire and has a core wire confirmation opening that opens to the outside.

In this way, when the core wire caulking portion is caulked against the exposed core wire main body excluding at least the tip portion of the core wire exposed at the end of the covered electric wire, the end portion of the core wire that is not caulked by the core wire caulking portion is obtained. There is a concern that it is bent so as to rise with respect to the exposed core body and protrudes outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting. In that respect, since the core wire tip covering portion formed in a form connected to the core wire caulking portion is arranged so as to cover the tip portion of the core wire, the end portion of the core wire is connected to the terminal fitting as the core wire caulking portion is caulked. Thus, it is possible to prevent the tip end portion of the core wire from interfering with other members or the like.

On the other hand, in order to ensure the caulking reliability of the caulking portion of the core wire with respect to the exposed core wire body, it is preferable that the end portion of the core wire exceeds the caulking portion of the core wire. Since it is covered with the portion, it is difficult to confirm the arrangement of the tip of the core wire. In that respect, since the core wire end opening is provided with a core wire confirmation opening that opens to the outside, the arrangement of the core wire at the front end can be confirmed through the core wire confirmation opening. Accordingly, it is possible to ensure the caulking reliability of the caulking portion of the core wire with respect to the exposed core wire main body.

The following configuration is preferable as an embodiment of the terminal fitting of the present invention.
(1) The said core wire front-end | tip covering part is formed in the form protruded on the opposite side to the said core wire crimping | crimped part side with respect to the front-end | tip part of the said core wire. In this way, the tip end portion of the core wire can be more reliably covered with the core wire tip cover portion, so that the tip end portion of the core wire rises outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting with the caulking of the core wire caulking portion. Is more reliably prevented. Thereby, the situation where the front-end | tip part of a core wire interferes with another member etc. can be avoided more reliably.

(2) The core caulking portion is connected to a bottom portion, a pair of side portions rising from both side edges of the bottom portion, and a rising tip portion of the pair of side portions, and sandwiches the exposed core body between the bottom portion. A pair of caulking pieces to be caulked in a form, and the core wire tip covering portion is connected to the pair of caulking pieces and the notches forming the core wire confirmation opening are in communication with each other. It consists of a pair of coating | coated piece part each formed by (1). In this way, the core wire exposed at the end of the covered electric wire is sandwiched between the bottom portion of the core wire caulking portion and the pair of caulking piece portions respectively connected to the pair of side portions rising from the bottom portion. It is caulked by being done. The tip end portion of the core wire is covered with a pair of covering piece portions that form a core wire tip covering portion respectively connected to the pair of caulking piece portions, and rises outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting with caulking. Is prevented. Since the cutouts are formed in the pair of covering piece portions so as to communicate with each other, the arrangement at the tip end portion of the core wire is more preferably confirmed through the core wire confirmation opening formed of the pair of cutouts communicating with each other. can do.

(3) At least the core wire confirmation opening is filled with an anticorrosion part made of an anticorrosive. In this way, since the core wire confirmation opening that opens to the outside in the core wire tip covering portion is filled with the anticorrosion portion made of the anticorrosive agent, it is possible to avoid moisture from adhering to the core wire through the core wire confirmation opening. . Thereby, it can suppress that electric corrosion generate | occur | produces between a core wire and the said terminal metal fitting.

The waterproof connector according to the present invention is disposed on the rear side of the connector housing, the connector housing having a plurality of terminal housings capable of accommodating the terminal fittings described above, and the terminal fittings connected to the ends of the covered wires from the rear. And a collective rubber plug provided with a plurality of insertion holes through which the covered electric wires are inserted in close contact with each other in communication with each of the plurality of terminal accommodating chambers.

In this way, when the terminal fitting connected to the terminal of the covered electric wire is received from the rear in the terminal housing chamber of the connector housing, a plurality of terminals are provided at positions that communicate with each of the plurality of terminal housing chambers in the collective rubber plug. The terminal fitting is inserted through the inserted through hole. Here, the terminal metal fitting is prevented from standing up so that the tip of the core wire protrudes outward from the outer shape of the terminal metal fitting with the caulking of the core caulking part. When the terminal metal fitting is inserted into the insertion hole of the rubber plug, a situation where the leading end of the core wire is caught by the hole edge of the insertion hole and interferes is avoided. Thereby, the situation where the hole edge of the insertion hole of a lump rubber stopper is damaged is avoided, and the waterproof performance of a lump rubber plug is hard to be impaired.

According to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the core wire from being caught with respect to another member while securing the caulking reliability of the core wire caulking portion with respect to the core wire.

<Embodiment 1>
A first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In the first embodiment, a female terminal fitting 10 that can be connected to a male counterpart terminal (not shown) is illustrated. In addition, a part of each drawing shows an X axis, a Y axis, and a Z axis, and each axis direction is drawn to be a direction shown in each drawing. As for the front-rear direction, the left side shown in FIGS. 1 and 2 along the X-axis direction is the front, and the right side is the rear. The vertical direction is based on FIGS. 2 and 4.

The terminal fitting 10 is formed into a desired shape by bending the metal base material in an unfolded state. As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the terminal fitting 10 includes a terminal body 11 having a substantially box shape, a wire connecting portion 12 that is disposed on the rear side of the terminal body 11 and is connected to the terminal of the covered wire W. The connecting portion 13 is arranged between the terminal body 11 and the wire connecting portion 12 and connects them. Among these, the terminal main body 11 has an elastic contact piece 11a (see FIG. 5) which opens in the front and rear and has an elastic contact piece 11a (see FIG. 5) therein. On the other hand, the elastic contact piece 11a is elastically contacted to achieve electrical connection with the mating terminal.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the wire connecting portion 12 includes a core wire caulking portion (wire barrel portion) 14 that is caulked to the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W, and a sheath Wb at the end of the covered electric wire W. A covering caulking portion (insulation barrel portion) 15 that is caulked to the end portion is connected to the front and rear. Of these, the core caulking portion 14 is connected to a bottom portion 14a extending back and forth along the X-axis direction, a pair of side portions 14b rising from both side edges of the bottom portion 14a, and a rising tip portion of the pair of side portions 14b. A pair of caulking pieces 14c for caulking the exposed core wire body Wa2 located on the rear side of the tip portion (front end portion) Wa1 among the core wires Wa exposed at the terminal of the covered wire W together with the bottom portion 14a, It is supposed to consist of The pair of side portions 14b forming the core wire caulking portion 14 has a height dimension (rise dimension from the bottom portion 14a) smaller than the height dimension of the terminal body 11. Among the core wire caulking portions 14, an inner surface (contact surface with respect to the core wire Wa, pressure contact surface with respect to the core wire Wa) is in contact with the core wire Wa in order to ensure the conductivity of the core wire caulking portion 14 with respect to the core wire Wa. Recesses 14d are formed side by side over almost the entire area (see FIG. 5). For example, when the material of the core wire Wa is aluminum, the concave portion (knurl serration) 14d can break the oxide film formed on the surface of the core wire Wa by caulking, and thereby the core wire with respect to the core wire Wa. It is possible to improve the conduction of the caulking portion 14. The covering caulking portion 15 has substantially the same structure as the core wire caulking portion 14 except that the covering caulking portion 15 is not provided with the concave portion 14d as described above, and has a bottom portion 15a, a pair of side portions 15b, and a pair of caulking portions. Of these, the pair of caulking pieces 15c are caulked in such a manner that the end of the covering Wb at the end of the covered electric wire W is sandwiched between the pair of caulking pieces 15c.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the connecting portion 13 is disposed on the rear side of the terminal main body 11 and on the front side of the core wire crimping portion 14 that forms the electric wire connection portion 12, and the terminal main body 11 and the core wire crimping portion 14. Are linked to both. Specifically, the connecting portion 13 includes a bottom portion 13a and a pair of side portions 13b that rise from both side edges of the bottom portion 13a, and the front end portions of the bottom portion 13a and the pair of side portions 13b are connected to the terminal body 11. The rear end portions of the bottom portion 13a and the pair of side portions 13b are connected to the rear end portion and the front end portions of the bottom portion 14a and the pair of side portions 14b forming the core wire caulking portion 14, respectively. The pair of side portions 13b forming the connecting portion 13 has a rising tip portion formed in an inclined shape as viewed from the side so that the height dimension increases toward the front side in the X-axis direction, and is connected to the core caulking portion 14 The height of the end is the lowest, and the height of the front end connected to the terminal body 11 is the highest.

By the way, when caulking the core wire caulking portion 14 to the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W, the front end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is more forward than the front end position of the core wire caulking portion 14, as shown in FIG. If it is arranged so as to protrude, the core wire caulking portion 14 can be caulked more stably and reliably to the core wire Wa. In this state, the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is disposed on the connecting portion 13 located on the front side of the core wire caulking portion 14 in the X-axis direction. When caulking of the core wire caulking portion 14 is performed, the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is not caulked by the core wire caulking portion 14, and thus rises with respect to the exposed core wire body Wa2 caulked by the core wire caulking portion 14. The bent and raised tip protrudes outward in the Z-axis direction (the caulking direction of the caulking piece portion 14c with respect to the core wire Wa) from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10, specifically, the side portion 13b of the connecting portion 13. There was a fear. If so, there is a possibility that a problem may occur that the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa protruding from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10 interferes with and damages other members.

Therefore, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the terminal fitting 10 according to the first embodiment covers the tip end portion Wa <b> 1 of the core wire Wa that is not caulked by the core wire caulking portion 14. A portion 16 is provided. As a result, even when the caulking portion 14 is caulked, the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is covered with the core wire tip covering portion 16, thereby preventing the terminal wire 10 from protruding from the outer shape. Thus, it is possible to avoid a situation in which the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa interferes with other members.

Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the core wire tip covering portion 16 is disposed at a position adjacent to the front side in the X-axis direction with respect to the core wire caulking portion 14, that is, at the rear portion of the connecting portion 13. It is formed so as to be continuous with the core caulking portion 14. The core wire tip covering portion 16 is composed of a pair of covering piece portions 16a that are respectively connected to the front end portions of the pair of caulking piece portions 14c forming the core wire caulking portion 14. The pair of covering piece portions 16a are connected to the front end portions of the pair of caulking piece portions 14c, and are also connected to rising tips from the bottom portion 13a of the pair of side portions 13b forming the connecting portion 13. The end portions on the opposite side to the portions connected to the side portions 13b are abutted with each other. The pair of covering piece portions 16a are inclined when viewed from the side along the rising tip portion of the pair of side portions 13b forming the connecting portion 13, and the height of the rear end portion is the lowest, The height is the highest. In other words, the pair of covering piece portions 16 a has the smallest distance in the Z-axis direction between the rear end portion and the bottom portion 13 a of the connecting portion 13, and the Z-axis between the front end portion and the bottom portion 13 a of the connecting portion 13. The distance about the direction is the largest. Between the pair of covering piece portions 16a and the bottom portion 13a of the connecting portion 13, the end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W is sandwiched. The front end position of the core wire tip covering portion 16 is disposed so as to protrude further to the front side (opposite to the core caulking portion 14 side) than the most forward position that can be assumed with respect to the front end position of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered wire W It is set to become. Thereby, the situation where the front-end | tip part Wa1 of core wire Wa protrudes ahead rather than the core-wire front-end | tip cover part 16 is avoided.

And the core wire front-end | tip coating | coated part 16 has the core wire confirmation opening part 17 opened outside as shown in FIG.3 and FIG.4. As a result, even if the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W is covered with the core wire tip cover portion 16, the X-axis direction in the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa through the core wire check opening 17 Since it can be confirmed from the outside by visual observation or the like, the certainty of caulking of the core wire caulking portion 14 to the exposed core wire main body Wa2 can be ensured.

Specifically, as shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the core wire confirmation opening 17 has a substantially trapezoidal shape when viewed in a plane so that the opening width is wider toward the front side and the opening width is narrower toward the rear side. By opening only along the axial direction on the upper side (the side opposite to the bottom 13a side) shown in FIG. 4, the opening edge forms an endless ring. The core wire confirmation opening 17 is arranged in the rear portion adjacent to the core wire caulking portion 14 in the X-axis direction in the core wire tip covering portion 16, and is arranged in the central portion in the Y-axis direction. Accordingly, in the core wire tip covering portion 16, only the both end portions in the Y-axis direction in the rear portion remain, whereas the front portion remains over the entire width in the Y-axis direction. Thereby, if the tip position of the core wire Wa at the tip part Wa1 reaches the front in the X axis direction with respect to the front end position of the core wire confirmation opening 17, the tip part Wa1 of the core wire Wa covers the entire core tip end in the Y axis direction. It will be covered by the part 16. The core wire confirmation opening 17 is composed of a pair of notches 17a formed in a pair of covering piece portions 16a forming the core wire tip covering portion 16, respectively. The pair of notches 17a are formed so as to open at the butted end portions of the pair of covering piece portions 16a, respectively, so that the opening edges thereof each have an end ring shape. Therefore, in the state where the butted ends of the pair of covering piece portions 16a are butted against each other, the pair of notches 17a communicate with each other to form an endless annular core wire confirmation opening 17.

Then, the operation | work which connects the terminal metal fitting 10 of the above structures to the terminal of the covered electric wire W is demonstrated. Prior to this connection work, the terminal fitting 10 is formed in the shape shown in FIG. 6 by bending each part from the unfolded state shown in FIG. In this state, in the terminal fitting 10, only the caulking pieces 14 c and 15 c of the caulking parts 14 and 15 and the covering pieces 16 a of the core wire tip covering part 16 are not bent, and the caulking pieces 14 c are not bent. 15c rises in parallel to the side portions 14b and 15b of the caulking portions 14 and 15 and the covering piece portions 16a to the side portions 13b of the connecting portion 13 in parallel. On the other hand, the coated wire W is in a state where the core wire Wa is exposed over a predetermined length by cutting off the coated Wb at the terminal. When the terminal of the covered electric wire W in such a state is placed on the bottom portions 14a and 15a of the caulking portions 14 and 15 forming the electric wire connecting portion 12, the exposed core wire body Wa2 of the core wire Wa is covered on the bottom portion 14a. The ends of Wb are respectively arranged on the bottom 15a. At this time, it is preferable that the tip end portion Wa <b> 1 of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W protrudes forward from the front end position of the core wire caulking portion 14 and is disposed on the bottom portion 13 a of the connecting portion 13. Then, by applying caulking processing (crimping) to the electric wire connecting portion 12 on which the covered electric wire W is placed with a caulking tool (crimping blade) SW, the covered electric wire W is applied to the electric wire connecting portion 12 as shown in FIG. Connected. In FIG. 7, only a portion of the caulking tool SW that processes the core caulking portion 14 is illustrated, and a portion that processes the covering caulking portion 15 is not illustrated.

Specifically, when the caulking tool SW is lowered from above in the Z-axis direction with respect to the caulking pieces 14c and 15c of the caulking portions 14 and 15 and the covering pieces 16a of the core wire tip covering portion 16, FIG. As shown in FIG. 4, the caulking tool SW is used to bend the caulking piece portions 14c and 15c and the covering piece portions 16a with respect to the side portions 13b to 15b, and between the bottom portions 13a to 15a, the core wires Wa and The end portions of the covering Wb are sandwiched respectively. At this time, each caulking piece portion 14c of the core wire caulking portion 14 caulks the exposed core wire body Wa2 of the core wire Wa with the bottom portion 14a, whereas each caulking piece portion 15c of the covering caulking portion 15 is connected to the bottom portion 15a. The end of the coating Wb is caulked between the two. On the other hand, each covering piece portion 16a of the core wire tip covering portion 16 sandwiches the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa between the bottom portion 13a of the connecting portion 13 but is inclined so that the distance from the bottom portion 13a increases toward the front side. Therefore, the pressing force acting on the tip end portion Wa1 is sufficiently smaller than the pressing force acting on the exposed core wire body Wa2 at the core wire caulking portion 14. As described above, since the pressing force acting on the distal end portion Wa1 and the exposed core wire main body Wa2 during caulking is greatly different from the core wire Wa, the distal end portion Wa1 is attached to the exposed core main body Wa2 as shown in FIG. Although it is bent so as to stand up, the tip end portion Wa1 is covered from the upper side (opposite side to the bottom portion 13a) in the Z-axis direction by each covering piece portion 16a of the core wire tip end covering portion 16. The situation which protrudes outside from the external shape of 13 is avoided. Thereby, it is supposed that the situation where the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is caught by the other covered electric wires W, the other terminal fittings 10 and the like hardly occurs. In addition, as shown in FIG. 7, the caulking tool SW has a flat shape when a portion (excluding the rear end portion) for caulking each caulking piece portion 14c of the core caulking portion 14 is viewed from the side. On the other hand, the portion of the core wire tip covering portion 16 where the covering piece portions 16a are bent is viewed from the side along the outer shape of the rising tip portion (each covering piece portion 16a) in each side portion 13b of the connecting portion 13. It is inclined.

When the operation of connecting the terminal fitting 10 to the terminal of the covered electric wire W is completed as described above, an inspection operation for inspecting whether or not the connection is properly performed is performed. This inspection work is performed by the operator visually checking the core wire Wa inside the core wire confirmation opening 17 provided in the core wire tip covering portion 16 of the terminal fitting 10 connected to the terminal of the covered electric wire W. . For example, as shown in FIG. 8, when the tip of the tip end portion Wa <b> 1 of the core wire Wa is visually confirmed through the core wire check opening 17, the arrangement of the end of the covered wire W with respect to the wire connection portion 12 in the X-axis direction. Is determined to be inappropriate. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 3, when the tip end of the tip end portion Wa <b> 1 of the core wire Wa is not visually confirmed through the core wire check opening 17, the end of the covered wire W with respect to the wire connection portion 12 is arranged in the X-axis direction. Determined to be appropriate. The terminal fitting 10 that is determined to have an appropriate terminal arrangement of the covered electric wire W in this inspection work is guaranteed that the core wire caulking portion 14 is appropriately caulked to the exposed core wire body Wa2 of the core wire Wa. It will be.

The terminal fitting 10 appropriately connected to the end of the covered electric wire W as described above is used for the waterproof connector 20 having the following configuration. As shown in FIG. 9, the waterproof connector 20 includes a terminal fitting 10 connected to the end of the covered electric wire W, a connector housing 21 in which the terminal fitting 10 is accommodated, and a collective rubber disposed on the rear side of the connector housing 21. The plug 22 and the rubber plug retainer 23 for holding the batch rubber plug 22 are provided at least. The connector housing 21 is made of synthetic resin and has a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers 21a into which the terminal fittings 10 can be inserted from the rear. The terminal accommodating chamber 21a is provided so as to open back and forth along the X-axis direction. At the rear end of the connector housing 21, a cylindrical rubber plug housing portion 21b is extended, and the batch rubber plug 22 can be housed from the rear side in the rubber plug housing portion 21b. Further, at least a pair of lock portions 21c for holding the rubber plug retainer 23 in an attached state is provided on the outer surface of the connector housing 21. In FIG. 9, the uppermost terminal accommodating chamber 21 a is in a state before accommodating the terminal fitting 10, and the terminal accommodating chamber 21 a immediately below is in the middle of accommodating the terminal fitting 10 (terminal fitting). 10 is a state in which the terminal fitting 10 is inserted into the insertion hole 22a of the collective rubber plug 22, and the terminal housing chamber 21a in the lower two stages thereof is shown in a state in which the terminal fitting 10 is accommodated.

The collective rubber plug 22 is made of synthetic rubber or the like, and as shown in FIG. 9, the terminal fitting 10 and the covered electric wire are provided at positions individually communicating with the terminal accommodating chambers 21 a of the connector housing 21. A plurality of insertion holes 22a through which W can be inserted are provided. On the inner peripheral surface of each insertion hole 22a, three wire seal lips 22a1 bulging inward are provided side by side along the X-axis direction. The wire seal lip 22a1 is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the covered covered wire W while being elastically compressed, thereby preventing water and the like from entering the terminal accommodating chamber 21a from the rear side. Further, on the outer peripheral surface of the collective rubber plug 22, three seal lips 22a2 for the housing bulging outward are provided side by side along the X-axis direction, and these seal lips 22a2 for the housing are provided with rubber. By adhering to the inner peripheral surface of the stopper accommodating part 21b while being elastically compressed, it is possible to prevent water or the like from entering the rubber stopper accommodating part 21b from the rear side. As described above, the collective rubber plug 22 can collectively seal the plurality of terminal accommodating chambers 21 a provided in the connector housing 21 and the plurality of terminal fittings 10 accommodated therein.

The rubber stopper retainer 23 is made of a synthetic resin and has a cap shape that can be fitted to the rubber stopper accommodating portion 21b of the connector housing 21 from the outside, as shown in FIG. The rubber plug retainer 23 has a portion facing the rear surface of the collective rubber plug 22 as a press portion 23a for the collective rubber plug 22, and the collective rubber plug 22 is connected to the bottom surface (front surface) of the rubber plug accommodating portion 21b. It can be held in a sandwiched form. The pressing portion 23 a of the rubber plug retainer 23 is provided with a plurality of communication holes 23 a 1 that respectively communicate with the plurality of insertion holes 22 a provided in the collective rubber plug 22. The terminal fitting 10 and the covered electric wire W are inserted into the insertion hole 22a of the batch rubber plug 22 through the communication hole 23a1. In addition, at least a pair of lock hole portions 23 b that are locked to the lock portions 21 c are provided in a portion of the rubber plug retainer 23 that is directed to the outer surface of the connector housing 21.

When the waterproof connector 20 having the above-described configuration is assembled, the rubber plug holder 23 is attached to the connector housing 21 after the rubber plug 22 is accommodated in the rubber plug accommodating portion 21 b of the connector housing 21. Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 9, the plurality of terminal fittings 10 connected to the terminal of the covered electric wire W are individually accommodated in the plurality of terminal accommodating chambers 21 a provided in the connector housing 21. In order to accommodate the terminal fitting 10 in the terminal accommodating chamber 21 a, the terminal fitting 10 is first passed through the communication hole 23 a 1 of the rubber stopper presser 23 and then through the insertion hole 22 a of the collective rubber stopper 22. Here, when the terminal fitting 10 is inserted through the insertion hole 22 a of the collective rubber plug 22, the wire sealing lip 22 a 1 is elastically contracted or restored by the terminal fitting 10. At this time, the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa in the covered electric wire W connected to the wire connection portion 12 of the terminal fitting 10 is covered with the core wire tip cover portion 16 so that it does not protrude from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10 to the outside. Therefore, it is avoided that the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is caught by the hole edge (wire seal lip 22a1) of the insertion hole 22a of the batch rubber plug 22 to be damaged. Thereby, the waterproof performance of the lump rubber stopper 22 is not easily impaired. Therefore, after that, the terminal fitting 10 is accommodated in the terminal accommodating chamber 21a communicating with the insertion hole 22a, and the wire seal lip 22a1 is in close contact with the outer peripheral surface of the covered electric wire W so that the terminal The storage chamber 21a can be suitably sealed.

As described above, the terminal fitting 10 of the first embodiment includes the core wire caulking portion 14 that is caulked to the exposed core wire body Wa2 excluding at least the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W, and the core wire. A core wire tip covering portion 16 having a core wire confirmation opening portion 17 which is formed in a shape continuous with the caulking portion 14 and is arranged so as to cover the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa and which opens to the outside.

In this way, when the core wire caulking portion 14 is caulked to the exposed core wire body Wa2 excluding at least the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W, the core wire caulking portion 14 caulks. There is a concern that the end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa that is not bent is bent so as to rise with respect to the exposed core wire body Wa2, and protrudes outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10. In that respect, since the core wire tip covering portion 16 formed in a form continuing to the core wire caulking portion 14 is disposed so as to cover the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa, the core wire Wa of the core wire Wa is attached together with the caulking of the core wire caulking portion 14. The tip portion Wa1 can be prevented from rising so as to protrude outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10, so that a situation where the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa interferes with other members or the like can be avoided.

On the other hand, in order to ensure the caulking of the core caulking portion 14 with respect to the exposed core wire body Wa2, it is preferable that the end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is disposed beyond the core wire caulking portion 14; Since the distal end portion Wa1 is covered with the core wire distal end covering portion 16, it is difficult to confirm the arrangement of the distal end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa. In this respect, since the core wire end opening 16 is provided with a core wire confirmation opening 17 that opens to the outside, the arrangement of the core wire Wa at the front end Wa1 can be confirmed through the core wire confirmation opening 17. Accordingly, it is possible to secure the certainty of caulking of the core wire caulking portion 14 with respect to the exposed core wire main body Wa2.

Further, the core wire tip covering portion 16 is formed so as to protrude to the opposite side of the core wire caulking portion 14 side with respect to the tip portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa. In this way, the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa can be more reliably covered by the core wire tip cover portion 16, so that the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is attached to the terminal fitting 10 as the core wire crimping portion 14 is caulked. It is more reliably prevented from standing up to protrude outward from the outer shape. Thereby, the situation where the front-end | tip part Wa1 of core wire Wa interferes with another member etc. can be avoided more reliably.

The core caulking portion 14 is connected to the bottom portion 14a, the pair of side portions 14b rising from both side edges of the bottom portion 14a, and the rising tip portion Wa1 of the pair of side portions 14b, and the exposed core wire body Wa2 is connected to the bottom portion 14a. And a pair of caulking pieces 14c that are caulked in a form sandwiched between the core wire tip covering portions 16 and a notch 17a that is continuous with the pair of caulking piece portions 14c and that forms a core wire confirmation opening 17 respectively. The pair of covering pieces 16a are formed in communication with each other. In this way, the core wire Wa exposed at the end of the covered electric wire W is composed of a pair of caulkings in which the exposed core body Wa2 is connected to the bottom part 14a of the core caulking part 14 and the pair of side parts 14b rising from the bottom part 14a. It is crimped by being pinched | interposed between the one part 14c. The tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is covered with a pair of covering piece portions 16a that form the core wire tip covering portion 16 that are connected to the pair of caulking piece portions 14c, respectively. Standing out to the outside is prevented. Since the notches 17a are respectively formed in the pair of covering piece portions 16a so as to communicate with each other, the core wire Wa is opened at the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa through the core wire confirmation opening 17 including the pair of notches 17a communicating with each other. The arrangement can be confirmed more suitably.

The waterproof connector 20 according to the first embodiment includes a terminal housing 10, a connector housing 21 having a plurality of terminal accommodating chambers 21 a that can accommodate the terminal fitting 10 connected to the terminal of the covered wire W from the rear, and a connector housing. And a collective rubber plug 22 provided with a plurality of insertion holes 22a that are arranged on the rear side of the terminal 21 and that allow the covered electric wires W to be inserted in close contact with each other. In this way, when the terminal fitting 10 connected to the terminal of the covered electric wire W is accommodated in the terminal accommodating chamber 21a of the connector housing 21 from the rear, each of the plurality of terminal accommodating chambers 21a in the collective rubber plug 22 is provided. The terminal fitting 10 is inserted through a plurality of insertion holes 22a provided at the communicating positions. Here, in the terminal fitting 10, the core wire tip covering portion 16 prevents the tip portion Wa <b> 1 of the core wire Wa from protruding outward from the outer shape of the terminal fitting 10 with the caulking of the core wire caulking portion 14. As described above, when the terminal fitting 10 is inserted into the insertion hole 22a of the collective rubber plug 22, the situation where the tip end portion Wa1 of the core wire Wa is caught by the hole edge of the insertion hole 22a is avoided. Thereby, the situation where the hole edge of the insertion hole 22a of the collective rubber plug 22 is damaged is avoided, and the waterproof performance of the collective rubber plug 22 is hardly impaired.

<Embodiment 2>
A second embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. In the second embodiment, the terminal metal fitting 110 is provided with the anticorrosion portion 30. FIG. In addition, the overlapping description about the same structure, an effect | action, and effect as above-mentioned Embodiment 1 is abbreviate | omitted.

The terminal fitting 110 according to the second embodiment is made of, for example, copper which is a metal material, whereas the core wire Wa of the covered electric wire W is made of, for example, aluminum. Metals will be connected. If moisture intervenes at the connection point between such different metals, the different metals may be dissolved as ions in the moisture, and there is a risk of galvanic corrosion in which corrosion of the base metal proceeds due to an electrochemical reaction. In order to avoid such electric corrosion, in this Embodiment 2, as shown in FIGS. 10-12, the anticorrosion part 30 is provided in the connection location of the electric wire connection part 112 and the covered electric wire W. FIG. The anticorrosion part 30 is made of a UV curable anticorrosive, and can be prevented from being electrolytically corroded by being provided so as to cover the connection portion between the electric wire connection part 112 and the covered electric wire W from the outside. The specific formation range of the anticorrosion part 30 will be described. The anticorrosion part 30 includes an outer edge part of each caulking piece part 115c forming the covering caulking part 115 in the wire connection part 112 (see FIG. 12), and the covering caulking part 115. In addition to substantially the entire region between the core and the core wire caulking portion 114 (see FIG. 10), and the outer edge portion of each caulking piece portion 114c forming the core wire caulking portion 114 (see FIG. 10), The unit 116 is also provided. As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the anticorrosion portion 30 is provided at the outer edge portion of each covering piece portion 116 a and is filled in the core wire confirmation opening 117 as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11. ing.

As described above, according to the second embodiment, the anticorrosion part 30 that is filled with at least the core wire confirmation opening 117 and made of the anticorrosion agent is provided. In this way, the core wire confirmation opening 117 that opens to the outside in the core wire tip covering portion 116 is filled with the anticorrosion part 30 made of the anticorrosive agent, so that moisture adheres to the core wire Wa through the core wire confirmation opening 117. Is avoided. Thereby, it can suppress that an electric corrosion generate | occur | produces between the core wire Wa and the said terminal metal fitting 110. FIG.
