ハウジングと、
表面実装用の基板接続部と、挿入されたカードの複数の接続パッドそれぞれに接触して該カードと導通する接点部とを有する複数のコンタクトと、
カード無挿入時に互いに接触しカード挿入により第1の接点部材が該カードに押されて互いに離間することでカードの挿入を検出する、該第1の接点部材と第2の接点部材とからなるスイッチとを備え、
前記第2の接点部材が、前記複数のコンタクトのうちの1つのコンタクトと同一の部材で構成され、該1つのコンタクトの基板接続部を介して回路基板に接続されるものであることを特徴とするカードコネクタ。
