Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a molten salt battery using a molten salt as an electrolyte, and more particularly to a structure for adjusting the temperature thereof.
As secondary batteries with excellent energy density, for example, lithium ion batteries, sodium sulfur batteries, and nickel metal hydride batteries are known, but in recent years, secondary batteries have a strong advantage of nonflammability in addition to high energy density. As such, molten salt batteries using a molten salt as an electrolyte have attracted attention (see
The operating temperature range of the molten salt battery is 57 ° C. to 190 ° C. as described above. However, according to subsequent experiments, the stability of electrical characteristics, the cycle life of the battery, and the temperature durability of the electrode portion From the viewpoint, a more preferable temperature is considered to be, for example, around 90 degrees. In order to obtain such a temperature, a heater is used. However, even if the heater is stopped or kept warm after being heated by the heater, if the self-heating of the molten salt battery due to charging / discharging is increased by a large current, the temperature may be much higher than about 90 degrees.
In view of such a problem, an object of the present invention is to provide a molten salt battery device having a temperature adjustment structure that easily maintains an assembled battery formed by assembling molten salt batteries at an appropriate temperature.
(1) A molten salt battery device of the present invention is an assembled battery formed by assembling molten salt batteries, a heat dissipating part provided under the assembled battery, and having a passage through which fluid moves along a heat dissipating fin, A heating device provided under the heat radiating unit and a flow device forcibly passing a fluid through the passage are provided.
According to such a molten salt battery device, for example, when the flow device is driven in a state where the heating device is stopped and the fluid is forced to pass through the passage of the heat radiating portion, the heat of the heat radiating fins is taken away, and the assembled battery The temperature of can be effectively reduced. Moreover, if a distribution apparatus is stopped and a heating apparatus is operated, an assembled battery can be heated or kept warm via a heat radiating part as a heat conductor.
(2) In the molten salt battery device, the fluid may be air and the flow device may be a fan.
Such a structure is simple, and therefore a molten salt battery device can be manufactured at low cost.
(3) In the molten salt battery device according to the above (1) or (2), the battery container of the assembled battery is integrally formed by a plurality of container spaces each housing a plurality of molten salt battery main bodies. It may be a container.
In this case, the temperature of the assembled battery is substantially equalized by integrating the battery containers of the assembled battery. Therefore, overall temperature management becomes easy.
(4) Moreover, in the molten salt battery device of the above (3), it is preferable that the battery container and the heat radiating part of the assembled battery are formed integrally with each other.
In this case, since heat conduction between the battery container and the heat radiating portion is promoted, thermal integrity between the two is ensured. Therefore, it is easy to adjust the temperature of the assembled battery via the heat dissipation part.
(5) Moreover, in the molten salt battery apparatus in any one of said (1)-(4), it is preferable that the radiation fin is connected from the ceiling part of the thermal radiation part to the bottom part.
In this case, the presence of the heat dissipating part interposed between the battery container of the assembled battery and the heating device does not hinder the heat conduction, so that good heat conduction is ensured. Therefore, it is easy to adjust the temperature of the assembled battery via the heat dissipation part.
According to the molten salt battery device of the present invention, an assembled battery formed by assembling molten salt batteries can be easily maintained at an appropriate temperature.
<Basic structure of molten salt battery>
FIG. 1 is a schematic diagram showing in principle the basic structure of a power generation element in a molten salt battery. In the figure, the power generation element includes a
The material of the positive electrode current collector 1a is, for example, an aluminum nonwoven fabric (wire diameter: 100 μm, porosity: 80%). The
On the other hand, in the
The
In addition, although the material, component, and numerical value of each part mentioned above are suitable examples, it is not limited to these.
For example, in addition to the above, a mixture of NaFSA and LiFSA, KFSA, RbFSA or CsFSA is also suitable as the molten salt. In addition, other salts composed of organic cations and the like may be mixed. In general, (a) a mixture containing NaFSA, (b) a mixture containing NaTFSA, and (c) a mixture containing NaFTA are suitable as the molten salt. . It is also possible to mix two or more of (a) to (c). In these cases, since the molten salt of each mixture has a relatively low melting point, a state in which high-concentration ions are dissolved with a small amount of heating can be realized, and the molten salt battery can be operated.
<Specific structure of molten salt battery>
Next, a more specific configuration of the power generation element of the molten salt battery will be described. FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view schematically showing a laminated structure of the molten salt battery main body (main body portion as a battery) 10.
In FIG. 2, a plurality (six are shown) of rectangular flat plate-like
The

Next, one embodiment of the molten salt battery device of the present invention will be described together with one form of the configuration of the assembled battery.
First, consider that the
FIG. 4 is a perspective view showing the

When it is estimated that the temperature of the assembled
When the temperature of the assembled
In addition, when the assembled
That is, according to the molten salt battery device as described above, when the

However, the heat medium can be a fluid other than air. For example, a liquid such as water or a refrigerant may be used. Therefore, the heat radiating part only needs to have a passage through which the fluid moves along the heat radiating fins. Further, the fan is merely an example, and in short, it is only necessary to include a circulation device that can force the fluid to pass through the

The integrated type has excellent temperature uniformity because there is no gap between cells and there is no variation in the accuracy of assembly. In the integral type, the partition wall between the cells is thickened, so that the heating from below is easily conducted upward. Moreover, the intensity | strength with respect to an internal pressure (gas pressure) is easily securable by making a partition wall thick. Furthermore, the integrated type is excellent in earthquake resistance because it is easy to fix to the installation place and the cells do not become separated.
