Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a Kumite match with less risk like Karate by wearing a protector in training Ryukyu old martial art.SOLUTION: A bamboo-made rokushaku-bo (quarterstaff) for Ryukyu old martial art trusting match is obtained by: stretching a string inside of a bamboo sword from a tip leather and winding the string around a hilt part, thereby suppressing unnecessary suppleness; connecting two bamboo swords by inserting each end of a pipe made of resin; and preventing falling off by a rivet. Furthermore, a cover is mounted on a central part including the resin pipe so as to absorb unevenness at connection boundaries and to improve operability, and a shock at thrusting is suppressed by making the rokushaku-bo lighter and more flexible than a conventional wooden rokushaku-bo.
