本実施形態にかかるフランジ型管継手の組立方法は以下の通りである。まず、フランジ本体10の外筒部20内へ防食コア12の内筒部60が挿入される。外筒部20内への内筒部60の挿入は、装置によるものであってもよいし、人手によるものであってもよい。外筒部20内へ内筒部60が挿入されると、防食コア12の内筒部60の他端部(コア鍔部62が設けられている側の端部)に一端部(外筒部20に挿入される側の端部)方向の力が加えられる。この力は、装置により加えられるものであってもよいし、人手により加えられるものであってもよい。この力を受けた抜止部64は窄まる。包囲片90同士の間に隙間92が存在するためである。包囲片90が窄まり面100を有していることは、抜止部64の窄まりを促進する。窄まった抜止部64は、開口40を通過した後、凹部34に対向する。抜止部64は、凹部34に対向すると、元の形状に戻る。これに伴い、抜止部64は凹部34に嵌まる。包囲片90の引っ掛かり面102が凹部34の内周面に引っ掛かる。これと同時に、防食コア12のコア鍔部62はフランジ本体10の切り欠き32に嵌まる。これにより、フランジ型管継手の組立が完了する。

前記フランジ本体の前記外筒部内に挿入される内筒部、及び、前記内筒部の端部に設けられ前記切り欠きに嵌まるコア鍔部を有する防食コアとを備えるフランジ型管継手であって、
前記外筒部が凹部を内周に有しており、
前記防食コアが、前記内筒部と前記コア鍔部との境界部に配置され前記凹部に嵌まる抜止部をさらに有していることを特徴とするフランジ型管継手。
