以下、本発明の実施の形態について、図面を参照しながら詳細に説明する。

図3を参照して、モニタ6は全体として四角形平板状でLCD等のパネル状の表示部7を有し、四角形の一辺近傍の両端に設けられた同一軸線上の支軸9が本体シュラウド8両側方の軸受に回動可能に支持されており、上方に配設された駆動機構11によって乗客に見易い画面角度に回動展開して使用され、使用後は再びシュラウド8に収納される。
次に、本実施の形態の具体的構成について説明する。モニタ6は、一辺近傍の両端に設けられた支軸9が本シュラウド8両側方の軸受に回動可能に支持されるとともに、支軸9に取り付けてあるリンク10の一端部10Aが回動可能に連結されている。また、このリンク10の他端部10Bは、駆動機構11のボールねじ軸12に結合された連結ブロック13と連結されている。リンク10はモニタ6に対して連結ブロック13及びボールナット14を連結してモニタ6を回動させる部材となっている。そして、ボールナット14はボールねじ軸12の回転により直線移動するのであるが、ボールねじ軸12の軸線はモニタ6の支軸9の軸線と直交するように配設されていて、ボールナット14はモニタ6の支軸9と直交する方向に直線移動することによって、モニタ6を回動展開および回動収納させるようになっている。
尚、回動可能なモニタ6が全開位置を保持する電磁ブレーキを有しても良い。また、モニタ6の全開位置から格納位置へ駆動するスプリングを有しても良い。
次に、外力検出機構について説明する。外力検出機構はモニタ6の表示部7を支えるフレーム16と背面板15と、その間に設けられた導電体17とで構成する。外力検出機構はモニタ6に連結されており、モニタ6と共に回動展開および回動収納するようになっている。前記外力検出機構は、金属等の接触部を設けた液晶を支えているフレームと、金属等の接触部を設けた背面板とで構成する。金属等の接触部は背面板のどの箇所に力が加わった場合でも接触するために該フレームと背面板の四隅に配置されている(図2参照)。モニタ6が開いた状態、または開こうとする状態において、導電体同士が接触したときに駆動機構に通電し、自動的にモニタが格納される。力検出機構では金属等の接触点に代わり、フレーム16または背面板15にメカニカルスイッチを配置しても良い。背面板15とフレーム16の間には、一定の空間を設けるためにバネ機構18を有している。
