Description

The present invention relates to a roof bow provided in a roof portion of a vehicle body.

The roof part which forms the upper body structure of an automobile includes a roof panel and a roof bow. The roof bow is disposed along the lower surface of the roof panel and extends in the width direction of the vehicle body. For example, as disclosed in Patent Documents 1 and 2, a sealer is provided between the roof panel and the roof bow, and the roof panel and the roof bow are bonded to each other by the sealer. Since the specified amount of sealer is supplied to the sealer application part of the roof bow, if the distance (clearance) from the roofbow to the roof panel exceeds the allowable value, the adhesive strength of the sealer supplied to the sealer application part to the roof panel is insufficient. Sometimes. For this reason, it is necessary to keep the distance from the sealer application part of the roof bow to the roof panel within an allowable range.

On the other hand, when a collision load (side collision load) is input from the side surface direction of the vehicle body, it is assumed that a part of the collision load is input to the roof bow via the center pillar. If the strength of the roof bow can be increased by quenching, it can have higher collision performance than before.

When the roof bow is quenched, the sealer application part may be deformed by the heat of quenching, and the distance from the sealer application part to the roof panel may exceed the allowable range. In that case, there is a concern that the adhesive strength of the sealer is lowered.

Therefore, the problem to be solved by the present invention is to provide a roof bow which has high strength and can secure the adhesive strength of the sealer provided in the sealer application part.

The roof bow of the present invention is formed in a region including the step portion except for the sealer application portion, a step portion formed in the vicinity of the sealer application portion and extending in the width direction of the vehicle body, and along the step portion. A quenching portion extending in the width direction of the vehicle body, and a non-quenching portion formed in a region including the sealer application portion.

In one embodiment of the present invention, a recess extending in the width direction of the vehicle body is formed in the sealer application portion, the quenching portion is formed in a region excluding the recess, and the non-quenching portion is formed in the recess. .

One embodiment of the roof bow has an upper member and a lower member joined to the lower side of the upper member, and a closed cross section is formed between the upper member and the lower member. The roof bow of another embodiment may be formed of a single member having a substantially hat-shaped cross section (open cross section) having a flange, and the sealer coating portion may be provided on the flange. Moreover, the roof bow of one embodiment is disposed between a pair of left and right center pillars of the vehicle body, and the stepped portion and the quenching portion are continuous in the width direction of the vehicle body.

According to the present invention, the strength of the roof bow can be increased by the quenching portion including the stepped portion formed on the roof bow. Since this roof bow has a non-quenched part in the area including the sealer application part, it can suppress deformation of the sealer application part due to thermal distortion of the quenching part, and keep the distance from the sealer application part to the roof panel within an allowable range. It is possible to secure the adhesive strength of the sealer.

Hereinafter, a roof portion of a vehicle body provided with a roof bow according to a first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 1 to 5.
FIG. 1 shows a part of a vehicle body 10 of an automobile. The vehicle body 10 includes a pair of left and right side sills 11 and 12 provided at the lower part of the vehicle body 10, side roof rails 13 and 14 provided at the upper part of the vehicle body 10, front pillars 15 and 16, and center pillars 17 and 18. The rear pillars 19 and 20 and the roof portion 25 forming the vehicle body upper structure are included. The side sills 11 and 12 and the side roof rails 13 and 14 extend in the front-rear direction of the vehicle body 10, respectively. In FIG. 1, an arrow X indicates the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body 10, and an arrow Y indicates the width direction of the vehicle body 10.

The roof portion 25 includes a roof panel 30 and a plurality of roof bows 31, 32, 33, and 34. Roof bows 31, 32, 33, 34 are arranged along the lower surface of roof panel 30 and extend in the width direction of vehicle body 10. An example of a roof bow (center roof bow) 32 provided between the pair of left and right center pillars 17 and 18 has a closed cross section.

Hereinafter, the roof bow 32 provided between the center pillars 17 and 18 will be described as a representative.
2 is a perspective view of the roof bow 32, and FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional view of the roof bow 32. As shown in FIG. 3, the roof bow 32 of the present embodiment includes an upper member 40 disposed on the upper side of the vehicle body and a lower member 41 disposed on the lower side of the vehicle body. The upper member 40 and the lower member 41 are each made of a steel plate capable of obtaining a quenched structure (for example, martensite) by a heat treatment of quenching.

The upper member 40 includes a pair of front and rear flanges 50 and 51, stepped portions 52 and 53 that rise from the ends of the flanges 50 and 51, and convex surfaces that are continuous from the upper ends of the stepped portions 52 and 53 through ridge portions 54 and 55. Parts 56, 57, stepped parts 58, 59 having a shape descending from the convex parts 56, 57, and a central surface part 60 formed between the stepped parts 58, 59. The upper member 40 has a substantially hat-shaped cross section.

The convex surface portions 56 and 57 are convex upward with respect to the central surface portion 60 by the height of the step portions 58 and 59. On the convex surface portions 56 and 57, a sealer application portion 62 including a concave portion 61 having a shape recessed downward is formed. The sealer application part 62 is formed at a portion facing the lower surface of the roof panel 30 and extends in the width direction of the vehicle body 10 along the longitudinal direction of the roof bow 32. As shown in FIG. 2, the sealer application part 62 of the present embodiment is formed at a plurality of locations at intervals in the width direction of the vehicle body 10 (direction indicated by the arrow Y).

The lower member 41 includes a pair of front and rear flanges 70, 71, vertical walls 72, 73 connected to the flanges 70, 71, and a lower surface portion 74 formed between the vertical walls 72, 73. That is, the lower member 41 has a substantially hat-shaped cross section. The upper member 40 and the lower member 41 form a closed section 77 by joining the upper flanges 50 and 51 and the lower flanges 70 and 71 to each other by coupling means such as spot welding. Since the shape of the closed section 77 changes in the width direction of the vehicle body 10, it is not limited to the shape shown in FIG.

As shown in FIG. 4, a sealer 80 is disposed in the sealer application part 62 of the roof bow 32. The recess 61 can be used as a positioning or mark when supplying a predetermined amount of the sealer 80 to the sealer application part 62. The sealer 80 is made of, for example, a resin adhesive, and the lower surface of the roof panel 30 and the roof bow 32 are bonded to each other by the sealer 80. Both ends of the roof bow 32 in the vehicle body width direction are coupled to the side roof rails 13 and 14 (shown in FIG. 1) by welding or the like.

In order to increase the strength of the roof bow 32, at least the upper member 40 includes step portions 52, 53, 58, 59 and ridge portions 54, 55 other than the sealer application portion 62, as schematically shown by hatching in FIG. A quenching portion 90 is formed in a region including. A region including the flanges 50 and 51 and the sealer application portion 62 is a non-quenched portion 91. The non-quenched portion 91 of the present embodiment is formed in a region including the inner side of the recess 61 and the periphery of the recess 61 (a region indicated by an arrow W1 in FIG. 3).

FIG. 3 schematically shows an example of the laser hardening apparatus 100. By scanning at a high speed while irradiating the laser beam 101 to the roof bow 32 by the laser quenching apparatus 100, the portion irradiated with the laser beam 101 is rapidly heated to the quenching temperature (for example, the austenitizing temperature at which γ iron is generated). And the heat | fever of the rapidly heated location is rapidly deprived by the surrounding low temperature part, and it quenches rapidly with the temperature gradient which a hardened structure | tissue (for example, martensite) produces. Thus, the quenching portion 90 is formed.

The roof bow 32 of this embodiment has step portions 52, 53, 58, 59 and ridge portions 54, 55 formed in the vicinity of the sealer application portion 62, and these step portions 52, 53, 58, 59 and ridge lines. A quenching portion 90 is formed in a region including the portions 54 and 55 and excluding the sealer application portion 62. The quenching portion 90 continuously extends in the width direction of the vehicle body 10 along the step portions 52, 53, 58, 59 and the ridge portions 54, 55. For this reason, due to the effect of increasing the hardness by the quenching portion 90, the strength of the roof bow 32 can be increased with respect to the side impact load input to the roof bow 32 via the center pillars 17 and 18, and for example, buckling is less likely to occur. it can.

The quenching portion 90 is formed in a region including the step portions 52, 53, 58, 59 and the ridge line portions 54, 55. The region including the sealer application part 62 is a non-quenched part 91, and the concave part 61 is formed in the non-quenched part 91, so that the sealer application part 62 can be prevented from being affected by thermal distortion. . For this reason, it can be avoided that the distance G (clearance shown in FIG. 4) from the roof panel 30 to the sealer application part 62 greatly varies due to the heat of quenching, and the adhesive strength of the sealer 80 can be secured. In addition, the quenching part 90 may be formed in a part of area | region except the sealer application part 62. FIG. Further, the quenching portion 90 may be formed on both the upper member 40 and the lower member 41.

FIG. 6 shows the hardened portion 90 of the roof bow 32A according to the second embodiment by hatching. The quenching part 90 of the roof bow 32 </ b> A is formed in an area excluding the flanges 50 and 51, the sealer application part 62, and the central surface part 60. Since the roof bow 32A is the same as the roof bow 32 of the first embodiment, the same reference numerals are assigned to the common parts of the two, and the description thereof is omitted.

FIG. 7 shows a roof bow 32B according to the third embodiment. The sealer application portion 62 of the roof bow 32B is not formed with the concave portion 61 of the first embodiment, and the convex surface portions 56 and 57 are flat. Since the rest is common to the roof bow 32 of the first embodiment, the same reference numerals are given to common portions, and the description is omitted.

FIG. 8 shows a roof bow 32C according to the fourth embodiment. In this roof bow 32C, a sealer 80 is applied to a sealer application part 62 formed at substantially the same height as the central surface part 60. Since the rest is common to the roof bow 32 of the first embodiment, the same reference numerals are given to common portions, and the description is omitted.

9 and 10 show a roof bow 33 according to the fifth embodiment. This embodiment is a roof bow 33 arranged at a location without pillars in the roof portion 25 of the vehicle body 10 shown in FIG. 1, and a single steel member 110 is made into a substantially hat-shaped cross section (open cross section) by pressing. Molded. A pair of front and rear flange portions 111 and 112 of the roof bow 33 is provided with a sealer application portion 62 having a recess 61.

Also in the case of this roof bow 33, a quenching portion 90 is formed in a region (indicated by an arrow W <b> 2 in FIG. 9) including stepped portions (vertical walls) 120, 121 other than the sealer coating portion 62, A non-quenched portion 91 is indicated by a dimension line W3 in FIG. For this reason, it can suppress that the distance G from the roof panel 30 (shown in FIG. 10) to the sealer application part 62 exceeds an allowable range due to thermal distortion. Moreover, since the quenching portion 90 is formed in a region including the step portions (vertical walls) 120 and 121, the roof bow 33 can be prevented from being deformed by thermal distortion.

Thus, the embodiment of the present invention can be applied not only to the roof bow (center roof bow) 32 between the center pillars 17 and 18, but also to other roof bows 31, 33 and 34. The quenching part 90 may be formed by quenching means other than the laser quenching apparatus (for example, induction quenching or quenching using a seam welder).
