After the water transfer sheet is released from the transfer material, the transferred toner image surface is wiped by an applicator in which an alcohol aqueous solution 2 is included, whereby the adhesive protruding out of the toner image is removed.

Description

The present invention is an improvement of the “copy image transfer method” (Japanese Patent Application No. 6-40305) filed on January 31, 1994 by the present applicant. Images such as letters and photos output by electrostatic copiers and laser printers can be transferred to various materials with strong adhesion by using safe materials and simple operations without using special machines or heat. It relates to a method that can be performed. The improvement of the previous application is to improve the safety of workers in terms of health and to improve the safety of ignition in accordance with the Fire Service Act.

The specific technique of the previous application was to form a toner image on a release paper laminated with a release agent such as silicon. In the case of a release agent such as silicon, it is necessary to use a hydrocarbon-based organic solvent as an auxiliary agent for peeling off the toner image. However, hydrocarbons are extremely flammable, and can easily be used when there is an open flame nearby. There was a high risk of catching fire. In addition, octane, isooctane, and isopropanol have been proposed as organic solvents used for image transfer, but these solvents are mainly used for industrial use. It was a health hazard and improper for us.

特願平6−40305Japanese Patent Application No. 6-40305

In order to improve the above-mentioned disadvantages of the present invention, it is necessary not to use a highly flammable organic solvent as an auxiliary agent used when peeling an image from transfer paper. In addition, it is necessary to use an organic solvent that is not harmful to health or extremely small as a transfer liquid used when transferring an image. Furthermore, there is a need for a method that does not deteriorate the conventional transfer performance with changes in these liquid materials.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention forms a toner image on the surface of a water transfer paper having a water-soluble glue applied to the surface of the paper by an electrostatic copying machine or a color laser printer, and then A water-based emulsion type adhesive mainly composed of an acrylic resin is applied to the copy surface with an applicator such as a brush or a sponge. After the adhesive is dried, the aqueous alcohol solution 1 is applied to the surface of the adhesive. After the material to be transferred such as a metal plate or ceramics is stacked on the adhesive surface and pressure-bonded with a spatula or the like, water is added from the back surface of the water transfer paper to melt the water-soluble glue and melt the water-soluble paste. After the transfer paper is peeled off from the transfer material, the transferred image surface is wiped off with an applicator such as cotton cloth or tissue paper containing the aqueous alcohol solution 2 to remove the adhesive protruding from the toner image. , Tona An image portion only is transferred onto the various materials.

As the water-soluble paste, dextrin or polyvinyl alcohol can be used. These are easily melted when water is contained in a dry state, and have an action of separating the toner image and the paper substrate. The electrostatic copying machine and the color laser printer can be used for office use which are usually marketed. The toners used in these are mainly composed of various synthetic resins, and the main resins used in recent models are polyester, polyurethane and the like. These resins are hardly soluble in an aqueous alcohol solution. As the adhesive applied to the toner image surface, an adhesive mainly composed of an aqueous emulsion type acrylic resin is used. Depending on the application, a mixture of silicon resin or polyurethane resin may be used to add functionality. When a silicone resin is mixed, the resulting coating has an effect of increasing hardness and heat resistance, and when a polyurethane resin is mixed, it has an effect of increasing flexibility and scratch resistance.

The acrylic adhesive remelts and becomes tacky when it contains alcohol in a dry state. It is preferable that the adhesiveness required for transfer does not melt excessively and is slightly melted. The reason is that if the resin is too melted, sufficient adhesive strength cannot be obtained, and it takes time to dry again and the workability is poor. For this reason, it is necessary to dilute the alcohol with water to adjust the concentration so that the optimum adhesive strength for transfer is obtained. As this numerical value, when ethanol is used, an adhesive strength suitable for transfer can be exhibited at an alcohol concentration of 10 to 60% (weight ratio).

As described above, according to the copy image transfer method of the present invention, a color copying machine used in a general office without using a special machine, or a color laser printer which has started to be used at home now. Images such as text and photos output by can be transferred and printed on various materials.
It should be noted that an image formed by a printing means by a screen printing machine or the like can be transferred in the same process as long as the ink has properties similar to those of toner of a copying machine.
Because it is a method of rubbing with a spatula, etc. without using a machine at the time of transfer, it is not limited to the shape and size of the material, and can be easily transferred from small products such as lighters to large objects such as cars and buildings There is. All the materials used are water-soluble, and since no dangerous materials in the Fire Service Act or chemicals that are highly harmful to health are used, anyone from children to adults can work safely. There is an advantage that the application is greatly expanded to the purpose. In addition, since the raw materials to be used are inexpensive, production costs can be kept low, and no special equipment is required, resulting in significant cost savings.

FIGS. (A) to (e) of the present invention are longitudinal side views showing a part of a copy image transfer method. Similarly, what is shown in (f) to (g) of the present invention is a longitudinal side view showing a part of the process. Similarly, what is shown in (h) to (ri) of the present invention is a longitudinal side view showing a part of the process.

The image transferred by this process has a shape in which an acrylic adhesive protrudes from the lower part around the toner, and is not preferable in terms of appearance in a state where a so-called seal is pasted. Therefore, as the last step, the acrylic adhesive other than the toner is selectively removed by wiping the entire surface with an organic solvent that melts only the acrylic adhesive without melting the toner. As the organic solvent used here, good results are obtained with an aqueous ethanol solution of 40 to 95% (weight ratio). That is, when the entire image is wiped by immersing the solution in tissue paper or cotton cloth, the protruding acrylic resin other than the toner is melted and wiped off, and only the toner image portion remains on the transfer material. The completed transfer image is finished with a natural texture as if the toner image was directly printed, and is in a very good printing state for practical use.

Ethanol is the best alcohol to use. The reason for this is that health hazard is low, and when the aqueous solution is less than 60% (weight ratio), it is not designated as a dangerous material under the Fire Service Act and becomes a highly safe solvent as a normal product. In other words, the materials used in the present invention are all water-soluble, and can be produced without using any dangerous materials. Therefore, it is possible to provide a transfer means that is extremely advantageous in terms of occupational safety regulations and fire fighting laws.

実験例Experimental example

The embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. In FIG. 1 (A), (A) shows water transfer paper, and this water transfer paper (A) is placed on the surface of paper (1) having good water absorption. A water-soluble paste (2) such as dextrin and polyvinyl alcohol is laminated. On the surface of the water transfer paper (A), a toner image (3) such as characters and designs shown in FIG. Thereafter, a water-based emulsion type acrylic adhesive (4) shown in (c) is applied to the copy forming surface of the toner image (3). After the acrylic adhesive (4) is dried, as shown in (d), the aqueous alcohol solution 1 (5) is impregnated and melted in the acrylic adhesive (4). Thereafter, as shown in FIG. 5E, a material to be transferred (6) such as a metal plate, glass, ceramics or the like is laminated and pressure-bonded on the application surface of the acrylic adhesive (4).

Further, in the water transfer paper (A) after being pressure-bonded to the transfer material (6), as shown in FIG. 2 (f), water (7) After the coating and impregnation, the water transfer paper (A) is separated as shown in FIG.

3 shows that the acrylic adhesive (4) transferred to the transfer material (6) and the toner image (3) are exposed from the portion of the toner image (3) and protruded. As shown in the figure, the toner image (3) and the acrylic adhesive (4) are wiped away with a cotton cloth (9) containing an aqueous alcohol solution 2 (8) or the like. (I) As shown in the figure, only the acrylic adhesive (4) is removed without melting the toner image (3).

Explaining the materials used in the experimental example:
(1) Water transfer paper is obtained by applying dextrin to the surface of water absorbent paper for ceramics. The required properties of this paper are that it quickly absorbs water and the dextrin quickly melts and has excellent copyability. Copyability means that there is no paper jam in the middle of conveyance, that a toner image is efficiently transferred from a photoconductor of a copying machine, and that toner has good fixability.
(2) The material of the toner is a polyester-based polymer toner of Ricoh Color Laser Copier Imagio MP-C2500. This toner has excellent solvent resistance and does not easily melt into alcohol.
(3) As the acrylic adhesive, an aqueous emulsion type acrylic paint was used. Commercially available acrylic paints are provided with various additives by each manufacturer, but by diluting an alcohol aqueous solution with water to a concentration according to the ingredients of the paint, an optimal solvent for the product can be made. Adhesiveness necessary and sufficient for transfer was obtained by applying the alcohol aqueous solution to the coated and dried acrylic paint.
(4) The alcohol aqueous solution 1 was used by diluting ethanol with water to an optimum concentration for appropriately melting the acrylic adhesive and causing adhesiveness to appear. In the case of the acrylic adhesive used this time, the adhesiveness necessary for the transfer appeared at 10 to 60% (weight ratio).
(5) The aqueous alcohol solution 2 was used by diluting ethanol with water to a concentration for melting only the acrylic adhesive without melting the toner. Although the meltability differs depending on the pressure applied for wiping and the amount of liquid contained in the cotton cloth, the object could be achieved at a concentration of about 40 to 95% (weight ratio).
(6) As a material to be transferred, a stainless steel plate, an aluminum plate, a copper plate, a brass plate, a glass plate, or a tile was used as a metal material. These materials have good compatibility with acrylic adhesives, and in any material, image adhesion was obtained so that it would not fall off if it was lightly scratched with a nail.
