Description
FIG. 1 shows an example of a network environment in which the present invention operates. However, application of the present invention is not limited to the following. In the present invention, in order to share medical image data among a plurality of organizations connected by a network, a database 106 for storing medical image information and an index database 105 for storing location information of medical image information are somewhere. It is a condition that it is managed by. As one of the institutions, there may be a data center 101 that specially manages medical images. The function of the data center 101 may exist in some medical institution. In the following, the data center 101 is assumed to play a central role. A laboratory (including a medical institution) 102 represents each element (node) connected to the network. The inspection institution 102 is connected by a communication line so that medical image data can be communicated with a clinic and a core hospital. The inspection organization 102 is an organization requested to interpret medical images from a clinic or a core hospital. A network 103 connects nodes. The network information storage unit 104 stores communication distances and map information of nodes connected to the network 103. The medical image data 107 is a distributed copy realized by the present invention. In the following description, it is assumed that the data center 101 exists.
FIG. 2 shows an example of a configuration in the data center 101 in which the present invention operates. A medical image storage communication system (PACS) 201 stores medical images and exchanges medical image data with devices connected to the network by communication. The medical image database 202 is stored in the PACS 201 so that medical image data can be searched by medical image attribute information such as an imaging date, a patient name, and an imaging site. The index server 203 manages the location of medical images. An index database (DB) 204 is stored in the index server 203, and location information such as whether a medical image is an internal server of the inspection organization 102 or an external server provided outside the inspection organization 102 is the medical image attribute information. It is stored so that it can be searched. The medical image attribute information used in the index database (DB) 204 only needs to be able to associate the medical image data of the PACS 201 with the location information, and may use a part of the medical image attribute information. A distance calculation server (DB) 205 calculates a distance on the network. The network database 206 is used for calculating the distance between the internal server and external server on the network. The router 207 is connected to a local area network (LAN) 103 to which the data center 101 is connected and an external network such as the Internet connected to the outside. In this data center 101 configuration, there are three types of servers, which are servers as functions, and do not necessarily have to be independent as one physical server device or one program. A plurality of devices and programs may be used.
