Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technique for notifying a user of a usage state of an application stored in an information terminal device.
An application (for example, news or weather forecast) stored in a memory of a mobile phone or the like as an information terminal device is known to be activated by a predetermined user operation and use the application. .
For each application, the amount of data communication, the amount of resources used by a CPU such as a mobile phone, the communication fee, etc. are different.
Even if the above application is started, the radio wave condition of a mobile phone or the like is bad and the application may not be used comfortably. Specifically, immediately after starting the application, when connecting to the Internet or the like to acquire information (for example, current news or weather forecast) from a predetermined server or the like, the server connected to the Internet or the like is connected. If the communication time for accessing the application is long, the application cannot be used substantially immediately, and the waiting time for starting the use of the application becomes long, which is inconvenient (uncomfortable) for the user. Further, if the communication time connected to the Internet or the like is long, a communication fee is added accordingly.
It has been widely known that the user can be notified of the radio wave status of a mobile phone or the like by increasing or decreasing the number of icons displayed on the three bars. Because the amount of communication was different, it was not possible to actually start the application and connect to the Internet.
Further, not only the radio wave state of the mobile phone and the like described above, there are cases where the application cannot be comfortably used even when the application is activated. Specifically, when the user feels inconvenience due to slow operation of the application when the resource usage such as CPU of the application is large and exceeds the predetermined CPU usage rate, memory usage or remaining battery power There is.
In these cases, it was not known if the application could be used comfortably without actually starting the application.
As a related technology, a technology is disclosed in which a connection to the Internet is constantly performed, a state change (incoming mail, homepage update, etc.) is checked, and when a state change occurs, the icon is changed and clearly shown to the user (for example, Patent Document 1).
However, the above related technology changes the icon when a state change occurs, but the state change is only a check for incoming mail, homepage update, etc., and can the application of the information terminal device be used comfortably? It is difficult to notify the user before starting the actual application use, such as immediately after starting the application, or because it is always connected to the Internet, so communication charges are not considered .
An object of the present invention is to provide an information terminal device, a usage state notification method, and a program capable of notifying a user about whether an application can be comfortably used before starting the actual application such as immediately after starting the application or immediately after starting the application. According to the present invention, whether or not an application can be used comfortably can be notified to the user before starting the actual application such as immediately before starting the application or immediately after starting the application.
図1に示す本実施の形態における情報端末機器としての携帯電話機10は、CPU(Central Processing Unite)等に制御され、ROM(Read Only Memory)、RAM(Random Access Memory)およびHDD(Hard Disk Drive)等を備え、さらに既知の入出力機構や通信機能を備える情報処理装置である。
Hereinafter, a first embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. A
FIG. 2 shows a functional block diagram of the
The

The radio wave state confirmation unit 12 has a function of confirming the radio wave state of the
The data communication measuring unit 13 has a function of measuring the data communication amount and the data communication time in the activated application. It may be realized by a CPU or the like. Data communication time is, for example, access when connecting to a predetermined network immediately after starting an application such as news or weather forecast and acquiring information (for example, current news or weather forecast) from a predetermined server or the like If the data communication time is long, the application cannot be used substantially immediately, and the waiting time for starting to use the application becomes long, which is inconvenient (uncomfortable) for the user.
The application search unit 14 records various data (application name, data communication amount / data communication time, and radio wave state) of the application displayed by icons on a display mechanism such as a display in a table or the like as shown in FIG. It has a function of searching whether or not the data has been sent and passing the data to the data communication amount prediction unit 15. It may be realized by a CPU or the like.
The data communication amount prediction unit 15 predicts the data communication amount when using the corresponding application from the weighted average of the data communication amount, and the predicted data communication amount and various data received from the application search unit 14 (application name, (Data communication amount / data communication time and radio wave condition) is passed to the communication time prediction unit 16. It may be realized by a CPU or the like.
The data communication time prediction unit 16 obtains the current radio wave state from the radio wave state confirmation unit 12, detects data of a radio wave state close to the current radio wave state (for example, the current radio wave state + −5 dBm, etc.), and the like It has a function of predicting the data communication time from the communication speed and passing the predicted data communication time to the comfortable use determination unit 17. It may be realized by a CPU or the like.
The comfortable use determination unit 17 has a function of making a determination such as “can be used comfortably”, “can be used if patience”, “cannot be used” from the predicted data communication time, and passing the result to the

Next, processing operations in the present embodiment will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Hereinafter, a procedure for recording data on the

Then, the
In addition to immediately after starting the application, if there is a case where information (for example, current news or weather forecast) is acquired from a predetermined server by connecting to a predetermined network, the access at that time is performed. Data communication time or the like may be measured and stored.

Further, not only before the application is started but also immediately after the application is started, the user may be notified at the stage before the user can actually start using the application.
In addition, instead of displaying balloons such as “comfortable use”, “use with patience”, and “not available”, the current radio wave status, predicted data communication time, predicted data communication speed, predicted data communication volume, etc. Or the like, and may allow the user to determine whether or not the user can use the device comfortably.
Further, the icon color (icon background, icon mark, etc.) may be changed and specified without placing the cursor on the icon.
Next, a second embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the first embodiment described above, whether or not the application can be comfortably used is determined in the radio wave state, but differs in that it is determined based on the CPU usage rate. Since the basic device configuration is the same as that of the first embodiment, a duplicate description is omitted.

Next, a third embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. Whether or not the application can be used comfortably is determined in the radio wave state in the first embodiment, and is determined by the CPU usage rate in the second embodiment. It is different in judging by quantity. The basic apparatus configuration and processing operations are the same as those in the first embodiment and the second embodiment described above, and therefore, a duplicate description is omitted, and only characteristic portions are described.
In the
Specifically, it is recorded as follows.
By accumulating data, it becomes possible to know how much memory the corresponding application uses, and it is possible to determine how much memory remaining capacity before using the application can comfortably use the application.
For example, if the remaining memory capacity during use of the application is less than 50 MB, and it is determined that the application cannot be used comfortably, the remaining memory capacity before starting the application is 61 MB (the maximum memory usage of 11 MB is added to the above 50 MB). Addition) means “comfortable use”.
Next, a fourth embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the first embodiment, whether the application can be used comfortably is determined based on the radio wave state, in the second embodiment, the CPU usage rate is determined. In the embodiment, the determination is based on the amount of memory used, but is different in that the determination is based on the remaining battery level. Note that the basic apparatus configuration and processing operations are the same as those in the first to third embodiments described above, and therefore, redundant description will be omitted, and only the characteristic part will be described.
The
By accumulating data, it becomes possible to know how much battery the application uses, and from the remaining battery level before using the application, it is possible to determine how long the application can be used later.
Specifically, for example, the determination is made as follows.
First, for each data, the battery consumed per minute is calculated. in this case,
(1) is 0.30% / min ((80.0-75.5) / 15),
(2) is 0.31% / min ((50.0-48.0) /6.5),
(3) is 0.29% / min ((30.0-22.5) / 26),
(4) is 0.30% / min ((100.0-80.5) / 65).
Next, a weighted average is obtained for each application. In this case, it is 0.30% / min.
The amount of time that the application can be used is calculated from the remaining battery power before the application is started, and is displayed with a balloon. If it is 20%, a balloon display such as “It can be used for about 1 hour and 6 minutes” is displayed.
In addition, when it is determined that charging is necessary when the remaining battery level reaches 10%, the time until it reaches 10% may be displayed. At that time, when the remaining battery level is 10% or less, a balloon display indicating “unusable” is displayed.
In each of the above-described embodiments, the determination by the comfortable use determining unit such as “comfortable use” and “not comfortable use” may be made at various levels and classifications. Further, the display on the display unit includes everything that can inform the user of the usability by any method.
Each of the above-described embodiments is a preferred embodiment of the present invention, and various modifications can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention. For example, processing for realizing the function of the device may be performed by causing the device to read and execute a program for realizing the function of the mobile phone. Further, the program is transmitted to another computer system by a transmission wave via a computer-readable recording medium such as a CD-ROM or a magneto-optical disk, or via a transmission medium such as the Internet or a telephone line.
