上記目的を達成するために、本発明にかかるひとつの画像処理装置は、3種類以上の露光量で被写体を撮像して得られた3種類以上の画像を用いた画像合成を行う画像処理装置であって、第1の画像の輝度と第2の画像の輝度とに基づき前記画像合成における前記第1の画像の重みを算出する重み計算部と、前記重み計算部において算出された重みを用いて前記画像合成を行う画像合成部と、前記画像合成の結果の画像から得られる統計情報により前記3種類以上の露光量を調整するための情報を生成する画像解析部と、を含み前記第1の画像の露光量は前記3種類以上の露光量において最小となる露光量以外及び最大となる露光量以外の露光量であり、前記第2の画像の露光量は前記第1の画像の露光量よりも大きく、且つ、前記3種類以上の露光量の中で前記第1の画像の露光量の次に大きい露光量であることを特徴とする。
上記のひとつの画像処理装置において、前記3種類以上の露光量で撮像された画像において、最小の露光量で撮像された画像を第3の画像とし、前記第3の画像の次に大きい露光量で撮像された画像を第4の画像としたときに、前記重み計算部において、前記第3の画像の重みが前記第4の画像の輝度を基に算出され、最大の露光量で撮像された画像を第5の画像とし、前記第5の画像の次に小さい露光量で撮像された画像を第6の画像としたときに、前記重み計算部において、前記第5の画像の重みが前記第6の画像の輝度を基に算出されることが好ましい。
上記のひとつの画像処理装置において、前記統計情報は、複数の前記画像合成の結果から求めた平均輝度であることが好ましい。
上記目的を達成するために、本発明にかかるひとつの画像処理方法は、3種類以上の露光量で被写体を撮像して得られた3種類以上の画像を用いた画像合成を行う画像処理方法であって、第1の画像の輝度と第2の画像の輝度とに基づき前記画像合成における前記第1の画像の重みを算出する重み計算のステップと、前記重み計算部において算出された重みを用いて前記画像合成を行う画像合成のステップと、前記画像合成の結果の画像から得られる統計情報により前記3種類以上の露光量を調整するための情報を生成する画像解析のステップと、を含み前記第1の画像の露光量は前記3種類以上の露光量において最小となる露光量以外並びに最大となる露光量以外の露光量であり、前記第2の画像の露光量は前記第1の画像の露光量よりも大きく、且つ、前記3種類以上の露光量の中で前記第1の画像の露光量の次に大きい露光量であることを特徴とする。
上記のひとつの画像処理方法において、前記3種類以上の露光量で撮像された画像において、最小の露光量で撮像された画像を第3の画像とし、前記第3の画像の次に大きい露光量で撮像された画像を第4の画像としたときに、前記重み計算のステップにおいて、前記第3の画像の重みが前記第4の画像の輝度を基に算出され、最大の露光量で撮像された画像を第5の画像とし、前記第5の画像の次に小さい露光量で撮像された画像を第6の画像としたときに、前記重み計算のステップにおいて、前記第5の画像の重みが前記第6の画像の輝度を基に算出されることが好ましい。
