こうして、取付けボルト12を緩めるとチップ50がチップ座壁面への押し付け状態から解放されるだけでなく、シート部材23がいわば自動的にチップ座底面7から引き離され、チップ座底面7が露出されるので、同箇所を圧搾空気などによって確実に容易に洗浄できる。その結果、切削屑などの異物がシート部材23とホルダ2との間隙などに挟まったままの状態になるという問題が解消される。
