Abstract

Description

  This application claims the benefit of US Provisional Patent Application No. 60 / 912,095, dated April 16, 2007, incorporated herein by reference.

  The present invention generally relates to a container with a lock having a function of preventing children from tampering. More specifically, the present invention relates to a function restriction clip used for a container with a lock that can be freely opened.

  Many containers with anti-tampering or locking features for children that require complex operations to open the containers are used. One method of using a container with a lock is to control the preparation of tablets and tablets. For example, a medicine bottle lock cap is well known. A typical lock cap mechanism requires coordinated alignment and tilt, axial pressure, or internal compression in conjunction with rotation of the cap to remove it from the container in order to contact the drug product.

  In other examples, the medication is packaged in a conventional flat box where it is difficult to ensure prevention of child tampering. Many tablet pharmaceuticals are sold in blister packs, specifically formed on a sheet sealed by a barrier that can be pierced when the tablet is removed from the blister. When a typical cardboard flat box holding one or more blister packs is opened, the entire contents of the package are exposed and all of the tablets are immediately available.

  It is clearly dangerous for a child to come into contact with a large number of tablets that are not intended to be consumed.

  Embodiments of the present invention are for the storage and preparation of pharmaceuticals packaged with sliding members that hold items such as trays, partitioned drawers, blister cards, blister packs, etc. ("slidable cards"). The present invention relates to a container with a child tamper-proof lock. Although the slidable card is shown as a conventional blister package, the sliding member may be a tray, slidable package or any package known to those skilled in the art. This locked container is shown as a two-piece molded plastic container that is closed on three sides to form a cavity that houses a slidable card. The slidable card can be slidably inserted and removed through the open fourth side of the locked container. Pillars molded on one locked container are connected to a hollow cylinder correspondingly molded on another locked container and, in some embodiments, sealed or closely attached.   The slidable card engages at least one detent or tab ("detent") that forms one or both of the two members of the locked container when fully contained within the container.   In practice, the blister card is placed in the sleeve opening, passes through the limiting spring between the guide cylinders and is pressed inward on the sliding guide of the base. A spring or rib formed at the top directs the blister card toward the base and detent. A detent or pawl engages one or more openings formed in the slidable card to lock the slidable card in the sleeve. By pressing the release button on the base inward, a part of the slidable card away from the detent is distorted. The distortion of the slidable card moves to the opening receptacle away from the detent and the slidable card is slid outward through the open end of the sleeve.

  Accordingly, embodiments of the present invention include a storage and blending system with a case and a slidable card. The slidable card is provided with at least one detent receptacle. The card is provided with a first side surface connected to the second side surface to form a space for accommodating the card.
