Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to the shape of an antenna of a television receiver that receives a digital television broadcast.
With the start of terrestrial digital television broadcasting, the current terrestrial analog television broadcasting is scheduled to end on July 24, 2011. Therefore, the demand for television receivers compatible with terrestrial digital television broadcasting is expanding.
Such a television receiver includes not only a large screen stationary type but also a small portable type represented by a mobile phone, an in-vehicle television, a portable television and the like.
Since portable television receivers are supposed to be portable everywhere, their antennas are also different from those of stationary types.
In a stationary type television receiver, reception is performed using a UHF (Ultra High Frequency) antenna installed on a roof or the like. At this time, the stationary television receiver is connected to the antenna outlet in the house connected to the UHF antenna with a coaxial cable and receives the digital terrestrial television broadcast.
Thus, in order to directly receive digital terrestrial television broadcasting using an antenna attached to the television receiver itself, there is usually a method of receiving using one antenna. Furthermore, in order to improve reception sensitivity and receive with high quality, there is a reception method called “diversity” in which signals received using a plurality of antennas are combined.
In the diversity reception method (diversity reception method), a plurality of antennas must be attached to the housing of the television receiver. For this reason, there are various techniques for arranging a plurality of antennas (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
FIG. 1 shows a schematic configuration diagram of a conventional microwave band
However, when the conventional antenna arrangement method is applied to a small portable television receiver, a new problem arises.
Usually, the length of the antenna is λ / 4 [m] where the wavelength of the received radio wave is λ [m]. For example, when receiving a microwave, if the wavelength λ is 12.5 [cm], the antenna length is about 3 [cm].
On the other hand, when receiving terrestrial digital television broadcasting, if the wavelength λ is about 50 [cm], the antenna length is about 12.5 [cm].
Thus, when receiving terrestrial digital television broadcasting, the antenna length is longer than in the conventional example. Therefore, when receiving with diversity, as in the conventional example, when two antennas are set up vertically, the antennas protrude and become larger in the vertical direction, making it difficult to apply to a small portable type housing. .
In addition, as shown in FIG. 2, even if the conventional two antennas are bent halfway, in the case of a small casing, the distance between the tips of the two
Hereinafter, the coupling between the antennas will be described.
When radio waves are received by the antenna, electric fields are generated in the antenna element and ground due to the electric field around the antenna, and current flows through the antenna. However, when there is another metal object in the vicinity of the antenna, electric charges are also generated in the other metal object. For this reason, compared to the case where there is no metal object around the antenna, the current generated by the electric field is different, and the reception characteristics of the antenna are deteriorated.
This is an example in which the antenna and another metal are coupled, but when the other metal object is an antenna, coupling occurs between the antennas.
The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems, and configures the two antennas so that the distance between the tips of the two antennas is increased. Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide an antenna that can be applied to a small portable television receiver without deteriorating the reception characteristics of the two antennas.
In order to solve the above-described conventional problems, the antenna of the television receiver of the present invention is temporarily extended horizontally so that each of them is away from the upper rear surface of the housing of the television receiver, and then bent upward in the vertical direction. Further, two pairs are provided symmetrically so as to return horizontally so that each approaches.
With this configuration, the distance between the tips of the two pairs of antennas is increased, and downsizing in the vertical direction can be achieved while avoiding coupling between the antennas.
The “vertical direction” is a concept including a direction substantially parallel to the vertical direction of the video screen of the television receiver (the direction orthogonal to the horizontal scanning direction on the video screen).
“Horizontal” (“horizontal direction”) is a concept including a direction substantially parallel to the horizontal direction of the video screen of the television receiver (the horizontal scanning direction in the video screen).
The antenna of the television receiver of the present invention can avoid the coupling between the antennas which becomes a problem when digital television broadcasting is received with a small portable television receiver and can be miniaturized in the vertical direction.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
(Embodiment 1)
FIG. 3 shows a

As shown in FIG. 3, the
By the way, “average antenna gain” is one of the indexes for evaluating the radio wave reception characteristics of the
Here, if the distance d between the tips of the
Hereinafter, the coupling between the antennas will be described.

For this reason, it is preferable to separate the tips of the
