Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a card connector used in an electronic device such as a cellular phone, and to which a card such as an IC memory card is mounted, and more particularly, a housing in which a contact group that can contact a contact terminal group of the card is disposed. The present invention relates to a card connector in which a cover is attached so as to be openable and closable (rotatable), and the card can be prevented from falling off by this cover.
Conventionally, in this type of card connector, it is detected whether or not the card is correctly inserted without fear of dropping, so that an undesired data signal is not exchanged between the card and an external circuit. Thus, there has been proposed a method in which data destruction or failure due to an erroneous operation does not occur (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
By the way, in the conventional card connector described above, by storing the card in the cover and then closing and sliding the cover, the card is correctly mounted and can be electrically connected to an external circuit via the connector. However, in recent years, electronic devices such as mobile phones that are configured to prevent a dropout by closing a cover after a card is mounted in a housing have become widespread. In the case of the card connector having such a structure, although there is an advantage that an inexpensive and thin cover made of a metal plate or the like can be used, it covers the spring piece that is elastically deformed by storing the card like the conventional card connector described above. In order to avoid data destruction or failure due to erroneous operation, a new mechanism for detecting whether or not the card is correctly inserted is required.
The present invention has been made in view of the situation of the prior art as described above, and its purpose is to close the cover after the card is mounted on the housing, and whether or not the card is correctly mounted. An object of the present invention is to provide an inexpensive card connector that can be detected and is suitable for miniaturization and thinning.
In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides a housing in which a card mounting portion for mounting a card having a contact terminal group is formed, and a contact group provided in the housing and capable of contacting the contact terminal group. And a cover rotatably attached to the housing so that a closing operation that rotates in a direction to cover the card mounting portion and an opening operation that rotates in a direction away from the card mounting portion can be performed. In the card connector in which the contact group is brought into contact with the contact terminal group by being mounted on the card mounting portion, and the card is stored and held in a state where the cover is disposed at a predetermined closed position, When the contact group includes a first contact and a second contact that can contact a predetermined contact terminal that is one of the contact terminal groups. In addition, at least a part of the cover is made of a conductive metal plate, and is connected to an external circuit derived from the first contact and the cover is disposed at the predetermined closed position. A fixed contact portion that is brought into contact with the cover when connected, and a second external connection portion that is led out from the fixed contact portion and connected to an external circuit. The external connection portion and the fixed contact portion are provided in the housing.
In the card connector configured as described above, the contact group can be brought into contact with the contact terminal group by mounting the card on the card mounting portion of the housing. At this time, the first and second contacts are brought into contact with the predetermined contact terminal. Therefore, it is possible to detect whether or not the card is correctly mounted on the card mounting portion based on a signal resulting from the conduction of the first and second contacts. Further, when the cover is closed so as to cover the card mounted on the card mounting portion and placed at a predetermined closed position, a signal is generated when the card contacts the fixed contact portion and is electrically connected to the second external connection portion. Based on this, it is possible to detect whether or not the cover is disposed at a predetermined closed position. That is, the card connector detects a desired detection from the first external connection portion or the second external connection portion only when the card is correctly attached to the card attachment portion and the cover is disposed at a predetermined closed position. Since the signal can be output, it is possible to prevent data destruction or failure due to erroneous operation. In addition, since it is not necessary to provide a card storage portion in the cover, an inexpensive and thin cover made of a metal plate or the like can be used, and it is easy to achieve a reduction in size and thickness.
The card connector configured as described above includes a first ground terminal portion that is led out from the second contact and connected to the ground circuit. When the first ground terminal portion is provided in the housing, the card It is preferable because it is possible to detect whether or not the card is correctly inserted while grounding.
Further, in the above configuration, the fixed contact portion includes a first fixed contact portion and a second fixed contact portion that are separately in contact with two places of the cover disposed at a predetermined closed position. A second external connection portion is led out, and a second ground terminal portion led out from the second fixed contact portion and connected to the ground circuit is provided, and the second ground terminal portion is provided in the housing. In addition to being able to ground the cover, a total of four mounting terminal parts (first and second external connection parts and first and second grounding terminal parts) are distributed in the housing. Therefore, the card connector can be mounted on the mounting substrate in a stable posture.
For example, a first external connection portion and a second external connection portion are disposed near both longitudinal ends of one side of the housing, and the first ground terminal portion is disposed near both longitudinal ends of the other side of the housing. Since the four mounting terminal portions are distributed and arranged in a balanced manner, the card connector can be mounted on the mounting substrate in a very stable posture.
In the above configuration, the cover is formed by bending one conductive metal plate, and an elastic piece that can contact and separate from the fixed contact portion extends on the side of the cover. A simple structure capable of reliably bringing the elastic piece into contact with the fixed contact portion when arranged at a predetermined closed position is preferable because it can be realized at low cost.
Further, in the above configuration, the cover is slidable with respect to the housing between the completion position of the closing operation and the predetermined closed position, and a lock mechanism for locking the cover in the predetermined closed position by the housing. If provided, this lock mechanism can prevent the card attached to the housing from falling off reliably, which is preferable.
According to the card connector of the present invention, when the card is correctly mounted on the card mounting portion of the housing, the first and second contacts come into contact with the predetermined contact terminal. It is possible to detect whether or not the card is correctly mounted on the card mounting portion.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 5, the
In the
The
One end of the
A first fixed
The
Next, a procedure for attaching the

As described above, the
Further, in the
In the
Further, the
In the above-described embodiment, the case where the
In the above-described embodiment, the first fixed
