Description
The present invention relates to a mobile station positioning system in which a radio wave transmitted from one of a mobile station and a plurality of base stations is received by the other, and a position of the mobile station is calculated based on a reception result of the received radio wave. The present invention relates to a mobile station positioning system that enables calculation of the position of a mobile station even when the position of the base station is not known.
A mobile station positioning system is known in which the other side receives a radio wave transmitted from one of a mobile station and a plurality of base stations, and calculates (positions) the position of the mobile station based on the reception result of the received radio wave. Yes. In such a mobile station positioning system, in order to improve positioning accuracy, time adjustment (clock adjustment) of each of a plurality of base stations is performed in advance, or time deviations of a plurality of base stations are calculated in advance. The time measured based on the time difference is corrected.

In order to perform time adjustment (clock adjustment) of the clocks possessed by each of the plurality of base stations, or to calculate the time lag of the plurality of base stations, for example, between the plurality of base stations previously known This is performed by comparing the theoretical value of the propagation time of the radio wave calculated based on the distance of the actual radio wave with the actual propagation time of the radio wave. In such a case, the distances between the plurality of base stations need to be known, and the distances between the plurality of base stations are calculated based on, for example, position information of the plurality of base stations. That is, the position information of the base station needs to be known in advance.
By the way, the base station is often arranged at a high place where radio wave visibility is good, and it may not be easy to accurately measure the position. For example, when using an existing infrastructure device such as a wireless LAN base station as a base station, it is necessary to measure the position of a device already installed at a high place.
The present invention has been made in the background of the above circumstances, and its purpose is to receive a radio wave transmitted from one of a mobile station and a plurality of base stations, and to receive the received radio wave. In a mobile station positioning system that calculates the position of a mobile station based on the result, when the positions of the plurality of base stations are unknown, the position of the mobile station can be accurately determined even if there is a time lag between the base stations. It is to provide a mobile station positioning system that can be calculated.
In order to achieve this object, the invention according to
According to the first aspect of the present invention, the base station position calculation unit knows the position information and the position information of a plurality of reference stations capable of transmitting / receiving radio waves to / from the plurality of base stations, Based on reception results of radio waves transmitted and received between a reference station and the plurality of base stations, time differences and positions of clocks of the plurality of base stations are calculated, and the base station calculates the base Based on the time lag information and position information of the clocks possessed by the plurality of base stations calculated by the station position calculation unit, and the reception results of the radio waves in the transmission / reception of radio waves between the mobile station and the plurality of base stations Since the position of the mobile station is calculated, the position of the mobile station can be accurately calculated even when the positions of the plurality of base stations are not known, even if there is a clock time difference between the base stations. . Further, it is not necessary to perform processing such as communication between base stations in order to obtain a time lag of the clock.
Preferably, the mobile station positioning system includes: (a) a plurality of base stations based on reception results of radio waves in transmission / reception of radio waves between each of the plurality of base stations and each of the plurality of reference stations. The base station selection unit that selects the plurality of reference stations used for calculating the time lag and position of the clocks of the plurality of base stations in the base station position calculation unit for each base station pair that is a combination of two base stations (B) the base station position calculating unit includes position information of a plurality of reference stations selected by the reference station selecting unit for each of a plurality of base station pairs determined in advance, and the plurality of selected plurality of base stations Time shifts and positions of clocks of the plurality of base stations based on radio wave reception results in radio wave transmission / reception between a base station and two base stations constituting each of the base station pairs Calculation, characterized in that. According to this configuration, the reference station selection unit determines the base station pair for each base station pair based on radio wave reception results in radio wave transmission / reception between each of the plurality of base stations and each of the plurality of reference stations. A plurality of reference stations are selected, the base station position calculation unit, the position information of the plurality of reference stations selected by the reference station selection unit for each of the plurality of base station pairs, the selected plurality of reference stations and the Since the time lag and position of the clocks of the plurality of base stations are calculated based on the reception results of the radio waves in the transmission / reception of radio waves between the two base stations constituting each of the base station pairs, the reference station When there are more than necessary, an appropriate reference station is selected for each base station pair, and communication is performed between the selected reference station and the two base stations constituting the base station pair. It is possible. Therefore, even when the positions of the plurality of base stations are not known, the position of the mobile station can be accurately calculated even if there is a time lag between the base stations.
Also preferably, the mobile station positioning system is configured such that the mobile station position calculation unit performs the mobile station position calculation unit based on a radio wave reception result in radio wave transmission / reception between the mobile station and each of a plurality of base stations. A base station selection unit that selects the base station used for calculating the position from the plurality of base stations. According to this configuration, the mobile station position calculation unit performs the mobile station position calculation unit based on the reception result of the radio wave in the radio wave transmission / reception between the mobile station and each of the plurality of base stations. Since the base station used for calculating the position of the station is selected from the plurality of base stations, the mobile station position in the case where there are more base stations than required for calculating the position of the mobile station A base station suitable for calculating the position of the mobile station is selected in the calculation unit. Therefore, even when the positions of the plurality of base stations are not known, the position of the mobile station can be accurately calculated even if there is a time lag between the base stations.
Also preferably, the mobile station positioning system is capable of transmitting and receiving radio waves to and from a predetermined number of common reference stations or more, in which both of the two base stations constituting the base station pair of the base station pair are predetermined. And a base station pair selection unit that selects a plurality of base station pairs as the plurality of base station pairs. In this way, radio waves can be transmitted / received to / from the predetermined number of common reference stations based on radio wave reception results in radio wave transmission / reception between each of the plurality of base stations and each of the plurality of reference stations. Base station pairs are selected, and for each selected base station pair, the reference station selection unit selects the plurality of reference stations used to calculate the time lag and position of the clock of the base station in the base station position calculation unit. Even when the positions of the plurality of base stations are not known, the position of the mobile station can be accurately calculated even if there is a time lag between the base stations.
More preferably, the base station pair selection unit is configured such that, for each of the plurality of base station pairs, a common reference station capable of transmitting and receiving radio waves from both of the two base stations constituting the base station pair is a base station pair. The plurality of base station pairs are selected so that the number of overlapping for each of the plurality of base stations is the largest. In this way, the base station pair is selected so that the number of overlapping common reference stations is the largest, and for each of the selected plurality of base station pairs, each of the plurality of base stations and the plurality of reference stations The base station position calculation unit selects the plurality of reference stations used to calculate the time lag and position of the clock of the base station based on the reception result of the radio waves in the transmission / reception of radio waves with each of the Even when the positions of a plurality of base stations are not known, the position of the mobile station can be accurately calculated even if there is a time lag between the base stations.
Also preferably, the number R of the plurality of reference stations constituting the mobile station positioning system is a natural number R when the positioning target area of the mobile station is m-dimensional and the number of the plurality of base stations is N. , M, N satisfy the relationship {(m + 1) × N−1} / m ≦ R. In this way, the required number R of reference stations can be calculated based on the number N of the plurality of base stations and the shape (m dimension) of the positioning target region of the mobile station, Even when the positions of the plurality of base stations are not known using the reference station, the position of the mobile station can be calculated accurately even if there is a time lag between the base stations.
Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.

Further, as shown in FIG. 1, the mobile station positioning system 8 includes a plurality of reference stations 11 (hereinafter referred to as eight stations), for example, eight of the first reference station 11A to the eighth reference station 11H having a function of performing wireless communication with the

FIG. 2 is a block diagram for explaining an overview of functions of the

The base

RSSI検出部42は、基地局無線部34において受信された電波(受信波)の強度を表わす指標であるRSSI(Receive Signal Strength Indicator)の値を検出する。

FIG. 6 is a functional block diagram for explaining a main part of the functions that the
In addition, the selection of the
The base station
First, the base station
Specifically, for example, consider a combination of base station pairs including three base station pairs (BS1, BS2), (BS1, BS3), and (BS1, BS4). From Table 1 above, the reference stations with which the base station pair (BS1, BS2) can communicate are RSa, RSb, RSc, RSe, RSh, and the reference stations with which the base station pair (BS1, BS3) can communicate are RSa, RSc, RSd, RSe, RSf, and the reference stations with which the base station pair (BS1, BS4) can communicate are RSb, RSd, RSe, RSf, RSh. Therefore, the reference station common to these is RSe, and the number thereof is one station. The number of reference stations common to other combinations of base station pairs is calculated in the same manner.
The base station
The reference

First, a reference station RSc common to the combination of base station pairs (BS1, BS3), (BS2, BS3), (BS3, BS4) formed by the three base station pairs selected by the base station
Next, focusing on the base station pairs (BS1, BS3) and (BS3, BS4), there are five reference stations 11 that can communicate with each of these base station pairs (BS1, BS3) and (BS3, BS4). Therefore, the reference station that can communicate with each base station pair and is not common to the combination of the base station pairs is the fifth reference station to be selected. That is, the reference
On the other hand, with respect to the base station pair (BS2, BS3), there are six reference stations 11 that can communicate with each other, so that each base station pair is a reference station that can communicate and is not common to the combination of base station pairs ( Hereinafter, it is referred to as “remaining reference station”.) Either RSa or RSb is selected as the fifth reference station. The reference

FIG. 10 is a flowchart for explaining this base station pair selection routine. First, in step (hereinafter, “step” is omitted) SB1, all assumed base station pairs are generated from the four
In SB2, a base station pair in which the number nr of reference stations 11 with which the base station pair can communicate in SB1 is 5 or more is extracted. Conversely, a base station pair whose nr is less than 5 is excluded. In the case of Table 1 described above, base station pairs other than the base station pairs (BS2, BS4) in which the number of communicable reference stations 11 is four are extracted.

If the number of base station pairs extracted in SB2 is four or more, both the determination in SB3 and the determination in SB4 are affirmed, and SB5 is executed. In the above-described embodiment, since the number of base station pairs to be extracted is 5, SB5 is executed.
SB5 is a step executed when the number of base station pairs extracted in SB2 is four or more. In SB5, among the base station pairs extracted in SB2, a combination of three base station pairs is generated, and the number of reference stations common to the combination of the base station pairs is the number of combinations of the generated base station pairs. Each is calculated and generated as a list as shown in Table 2 in the above-described embodiment.
In SB6, the combination of base station pairs having the largest number of reference stations common to the combination of base station pairs calculated in SB5 is selected. Then, three base station pairs constituting the selected combination are selected as three base station pairs. In the above-described embodiment, (BS1, BS3), (BS2, BS3), and (BS3, BS4) are selected, which is the combination of the base station pairs having the largest number of four base stations common to the combination of base station pairs.

Further, according to the above-described embodiment, the mobile station positioning system 8 is based on the RSSI value that is a reception result of radio waves in transmission / reception of radio waves between each of the plurality of
Further, according to the above-described embodiment, in the mobile station positioning system 8, the peak of the RSSI value or the correlation value that is the reception result of the radio wave in the transmission / reception of the radio wave between the

Subsequently, another embodiment of the present invention will be described. In the following description, portions common to the embodiments are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted.
The present embodiment relates to another embodiment of base station calculation in the base
In this embodiment, the
In this embodiment, the
According to the present embodiment, the mobile station positioning system 8 is based on an error rate (BER) that is a reception result of radio waves in transmission / reception of radio waves between each of the plurality of

For example, in the above-described embodiment, the number of the
In the above-described embodiment, the reference
Further, the reference

In the above-described embodiment, the reference station
In the above-described embodiment, the RSSI value detected by the
In the above-described embodiment, the
In the above-described embodiment, the
