本発明によって作製されたタイル(トライアル)が、下地コートおよび/または仕上げコートのさまざまな量で仕上げ材料(ラテックス・ベースの塗装)でコーティングされた。塗装グレード・ラテックスは、機械的強度および耐磨耗性に基づいて、結合剤タイプ・ラテックス材料から容易に識別可能である。
Claims (14)
- ミネラル・ウール・ベースの天井タイルを作製する方法であって、
ある量のミネラル・ウールおよび結合剤を、重量ベースでの前記ある量のミネラル・ウール量が前記ある量の結合剤よりもかなり大きい割合で、前記結合剤が前記ミネラル・ウール上に全体的に均一に分散される程度まで混合するステップと、
均一な混合状態での前記ミネラル・ウールおよび結合剤からマットを形成するステップと、
結果としての材料の塊が比較的有孔であるように前記ミネラル・ウールを剛性化させるように前記結合剤を硬化させるステップと、
単位厚さ当たりの結合剤含有量が前記マットの厚さの大部分にわたる単位厚さ当たりの結合剤含有量よりもかなり大きいように、前記マットの片側に結合剤高濃度ゾーンを形成するステップとを含み、
それによって、前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンの表面での前記マットの硬度が、前記マットの厚さの大部分を通して存在する結合剤含有量によって形成されるマット表面での硬度よりも大きい、ミネラル・ウール・ベースの天井タイルの作製方法。 - 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーン用に使用される前記結合剤がラテックスであり、前記マットを作製するために前記ミネラル・ウールと混合される前記結合剤の少なくともいくつかと同じである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンは、前記結合剤を有する前記マットを前記結合剤でコーティングすることによって作製される、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記結合剤による前記マットのコーティングは、前記結合剤を前記マット上に噴霧することによってなされる、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記結合剤によるコートは、前記マット上に前記結合剤をロールコーティングすることによって前記マット上に形成される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンは、純白に近いその色をもたらすために仕上げ材料でコーティングされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 約1/2インチから約3/4インチの間の公称厚さであり、かつ、重量で少なくとも75%のミネラル・ウール含有量および重量で少なくとも3%の結合剤を有するスラリー形成されたマットであって、前記結合剤が、前記マットの厚さの大部分にわたって実質的に分布されるスラリー形成されたマットと、
前記マットの前側に設けられた結合剤高濃度ゾーンとを備える天井タイルであって、
物理的損傷に抵抗することにおける前記タイルの耐久性が増大される一方、前記タイルの全体的な結合剤含有量を低減可能であり、したがって前記タイルのコストが低減されるように、前記マットの主要部分の単位厚さ当たりの結合剤含有量よりもかなり大きい単位厚さ当たりの結合剤含有量を有し、それによって前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンの硬度が前記マットの前記主要部分の硬度より大きい、天井タイル。 - 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンが、前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンによって呈される色よりもより純白に近い色のペイント・タイプのコーティングで覆われている、請求項7に記載の天井タイル。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンがラテックス結合剤を備え、かつ前記マットの主要部分の色よりもその色において純白に近く、それによって、前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンが省略され、前記ペイント・タイプのコーティングが前記マットの面に塗布される場合に必要とされるよりも少ないペイント・タイプコーティングが、タイルの面で所望のレベルの白色を得るために必要とされる、請求項8に記載の天井タイル。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンが前記マット上にコートされる、請求項7に記載の天井タイル。
- 均一に混合されたミネラル・ウールと結合剤の水スラリーから形成されたベース・マットであって、前記ミネラル・ウールが前記タイルの重量の大部分を形成し、前記マットが比較的低い密度を有し、かつ比較的有孔であるベース・マットと、
前記スラリーによるミネラル・ウールおよび結合剤の本体上に被覆形成された前記マットの前面上にある結合剤高濃度ゾーンであって、前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンの単位厚さ当たりの結合剤の濃度が、単位厚さ当たりの前記マット内の結合剤の濃度よりもかなり大きい結合剤高濃度ゾーンと、
を備える、天井タイル。 - 前記マット上にコーティングされる前記結合剤が、前記マットを形成するためにスラリー内に混合される結合剤材料と同じである、請求項11に記載の天井タイル。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーンが、タイルを白に着色するための材料で被覆される、請求項11に記載の天井タイル。
- 前記結合剤高濃度ゾーン内の前記結合剤が、高Tg結合剤タイプ・ラテックスである、請求項11に記載の天井タイル。
