Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a connector protective cap that is attached to an unconnected connector connected to an end portion of an electric signal cable or an optical signal cable and protects the connection portion.
An electrical signal cable and an optical signal cable are used for wiring between devices in information communication devices and the like, and usually a detachable connector is used for connecting these cables. When the connector is not connected, the connection portion is exposed and foreign matter such as dust is likely to enter therein. If the connector is connected in a state in which the foreign matter has entered, connection failure occurs. In particular, a connector for an optical cable is likely to cause a communication failure even if a minute foreign matter adheres to the connection surface or is scratched.
For this reason, when the connector is connected, the connection portion needs to be cleaned. However, this cleaning needs to be performed carefully without damaging the connection portion, and the operation is not easy and requires labor. In order to avoid such work, normally, in the unconnected state of the connector, including during storage after connector manufacture, during transportation, during wiring work, etc., the connection part is covered with a protective cap to protect it ( Patent Document 1). Further, since the cable is normally supplied in a state of being bundled with a binding band or the like, it is disclosed that the protective cap and the binding band are integrally connected (see Patent Document 2).
In general, the connector protective cap is molded of plastic or the like, but is small and easily lost. For this reason, it is difficult to hold by hand and difficult to handle. Therefore, by forming the binding band and the protective cap integrally connected as in
As disclosed in
The present invention has been made in view of the above-described circumstances. By integrally assembling the protective cap of the connector and the information storage member of the connector, the handleability of the protective cap is improved and the information of the connector is stored. It is an object of the present invention to provide a connector protective cap that can be easily managed by a member for use.
The connector protection cap according to the present invention is characterized in that the gripping portion and the cap portion removable from the connector are connected by a detachable connecting portion, and an information storage portion is provided in a part of the connecting portion. In addition, it is preferable that at least one of the connecting portions of the connecting portion between the cap portion and the information storage portion is easily reduced in diameter.
Further, it is desirable that the grip portion is formed in a ring shape with a part opened, and the information storage portion is formed of an IC tag.
According to the present invention, the cap part is provided integrally with the information storage part by the separable connecting part, and is easy to handle when it is held in hand, and is hardly lost, and the connecting part is separated and removed. Thus, the cap portion can be made not bulky. In addition, after the cable is installed, the information storage unit can be taken away from the connector part and managed together with the information storage unit of other cables to facilitate the handling of accidents and the like.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. FIG. 1 is a view showing an example of a connector protective cap according to the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a partial view showing a state where a protective cap is put on an optical connector. In the figure, 1 is a connector protection cap, 2 is a cap part, 2a is a blocking wall, 3 is a gripping part, 3a is a slit, 4 is an information storage part, 5 is a connection part, 5a and 5b are connection parts, 6 is a ferrule, 7 and 8 are optical fibers, 9 is an optical fiber splice unit, 10 is a connector housing, 11 is a boot, and 12 is an optical connector.
As shown in FIG. 1, the connector
The
FIG. 2 shows a main part of the
In the field work, the
When the
Returning to FIG. 1, the
Further, the connector
Further, by embedding an IC tag in the information storage unit 4, more information can be recorded. For example, in addition to the connector arrangement number, installation date and time, and installation location of the connector, information such as the connector manufacturing number, manufacturing factory, manufacture date and time, operator, and the optical cable type of the connector, installation location, etc. can be written. . When this IC tag is used, the optical connector information can be identified from a remote position by a dedicated reader.
By attaching the information holding part 4 as described above to the
In addition, after the connector is installed, the information storage unit 4 may be attached in the vicinity of the installed connector. However, the information storage unit 4 can be detached from the
Further, the connector
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a usage pattern of the
At this time, the linear or belt-like connecting
The information storage unit 4 holds information about the predetermined
FIG. 3B is an example in which the

In the connector protective cap according to the present invention, as described above, the protective cap for the connector and the tag storing the individual information of the connector are integrally formed by a separable connecting member. Thereby, the handleability of a small protective cap can be improved, and an improvement to the fact that it is easily lost can be achieved. Further, individual information of the connector can be surely given to each in connection with a series of operations for installing the connector, and it is possible to quickly cope with connector connection verification and countermeasures against defects.
