Description
The present invention relates to a multimedia broadcast / multicast service (hereinafter referred to as “MBMS”) system, and in particular, a UE (User Equipment) is a new drift radio network controller during a session. When a movement to (Drift Radio Network Controller: DRNC) is detected, a serving radio network controller (SRNC) relates to a method of notifying the DRNC whether or not the UE session has been received. Is.
Recently, with the development of communication technology, services provided in mobile communication systems using Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (hereinafter referred to as “WCDMA”) systems are not limited to conventional voice services. Developed in multimedia broadcasting / communication, which can support packet services and multimedia services used for large-capacity data transmission. In order to support multimedia broadcasting / communication, MBMS services that provide services to one or more UEs from one or more multimedia data sources have been discussed.
Here, the “MBMS service” refers to a service for transmitting the same multimedia data to a plurality of recipients through a wireless network. This MBMS service can save radio transmission resources by allowing a plurality of recipients to share one radio channel. This MBMS service supports multimedia transmission such as real-time video and audio, still images, and characters, and can simultaneously provide audio data and video data through multimedia transmission. For this reason, this MBMS service requires a large amount of transmission resources.
ここでは、例えばGSM(Global System for Mobile Communications)とGPRS(General Packet Radio Services)に基づいて、第3世代非同期移動通信方式の標準である3GPP(3rd Generation Project Partnership)システムにMBMSサービスが適用されると仮定する。 FIG. 1 schematically illustrates nodes participating in providing an MBMS service in a typical mobile communication network. Here, for example based on GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) and GPRS (General Packet Radio Services), MBMS service is applied to the standard and is 3GPP (3 rd Generation Project Partnership) system of the third-generation asynchronous mobile communication system Assume that.

Although not shown in FIG. 1, a plurality of SGSNs can be provided for one MBMS service, and a plurality of RNCs can be provided for each SGSN. Each SGSN selectively performs data transmission to a plurality of RNCs and each RNC to a plurality of cells. For this purpose, a list of lower nodes (for example, a list of RNCs and a list of cells, respectively) to which a data stream is to be transmitted to SGSN and RNC is stored, and MBMS data transmission is selectively performed only to the nodes included in this list.

Referring to FIG. 3, in a
In the

A

In a
When the MBMS service is terminated, a radio
For each MBMS service, the RNC manages an MBMS context in which information on UEs that want to receive the MBMS service is stored. One MBMS service consists of several sessions. This MBMS context is managed until the MBMS service ends or until there is no UE receiving the MBMS service in the RNC regardless of the start and end of the session, and is included in the MBMS context when a new session starts. In consideration of the number of UEs, it is determined whether the session is transmitted by the PTP method or the PTM method. The process of counting the number of UEs is a counting stage.
FIG. 4 shows a situation where the same MBMS service is transmitted in the first cell 401 and the
In a repetitive transmission situation as described above, the SRNC knows that the UE has already received a session, but if the UE moves to another cell managed by the DRNC, as indicated by reference numeral 450, the DRNC Includes this UE in the counting process. In this case, since the UE does not actually receive the session, an MBMS service for which the PTP scheme is desirable may be set to the PTM scheme, thereby causing a waste of radio resources.
Therefore, there is a need for a method and apparatus for detecting that a UE moves to a new DRNC during a session and notifying the DRNC whether or not the UE has received a session.
Therefore, in order to solve the above problems, the object of the present invention is to determine whether the UE actually received the session when the UE moves to the target cell managed by the DRNC. It is to provide a method and an apparatus for determining and providing the result information to DRNC.
In addition, an object of the present invention is that a DRNC that has received information indicating whether or not a UE actually receives a session from an SRNC can more efficiently use radio resources by excluding the UE from the counting process. It is to provide a method and apparatus that can be used.
To achieve the above object, the present invention provides a method for transmitting session indifference indication information for a terminal's MBMS service in a multimedia broadcast / multicast service (MBMS) system, comprising a serving radio network controller (SRNC). ) Determines whether the terminal wishes to receive a current session for the MBMS service subscribed by the terminal, and the SRNC determines whether the terminal has a session for the MBMS service according to the determination result. Transmitting indifference indication information to a drift radio network controller (DRNC); and the DRNC includes the terminal in an MBMS context for the MBMS service, and the terminal is added to the MBMS service according to the session indifference indication information of the terminal. County for Determining whether or not to exclude from the storage.
Also, the present invention provides an MBMS system that provides a multimedia broadcast / multicast service (MBMS) to a terminal, and determines whether or not it is desired to receive a current session for the MBMS service subscribed by the terminal. A serving radio network controller (SRNC) that generates session indifference indication information of the terminal, and receives the session indifference indication information of the terminal from the SRNC, and in accordance with the session indifference indication information, the terminal is used for the MBMS service. And a drift radio network controller (DRNC) for determining whether or not to exclude them from counting.
In the present invention, when a UE moves to a cell managed by a new RNC, the SRNC determines whether the UE is interested in the session and provides the information to the DRNC. If it is determined that the UE is not interested in the session, the DRNC can increase the efficiency of radio resources by not including the UE in the counting. That is, the embodiment of the present invention informs the DRNC whether or not the UE receives a session of the current service for the subscribed service regardless of its mobility, thereby improving the efficiency of radio resources. There is an effect that can be increased more.
Hereinafter, exemplary embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
In the following, when it is determined that a specific description of a known function or configuration related to the present invention makes the gist of the present invention unclear, the detailed description thereof will be omitted.
The gist of the embodiment of the present invention is to provide UE's 'session interest information' for a specific MBMS service from SRNC to DRNC. Here, the expression “UE is not interested in a specific MBMS service” includes a case where the UE has already received the same session in a repetitive transmission situation. Also, the expression “UE is interested in a particular MBMS service” includes the case where the UE has not received a session before.

For example, if the indifference indicator is set to '1', it indicates that the UE has subscribed to the MBMS service but does not receive the current session. However, if the indifference indicator is set to '0', it indicates that the UE receives the current session. For example, the 1-bit indicator assumes a situation in which session transmission timings of a cell in which the UE is initially located and a cell to be moved match.
Table 2 shows an indifference indicator indicating whether or not the UE is interested in a session corresponding to the session ID, including the session ID of the current session in the session setting instruction information of the UE according to the second embodiment of the present invention. Shows how to provide the DRNC.
This method can also be used when session transmission timing does not match between cells. By using the inclusion indication of the session ID as an indifference indicator, the DRNC can determine whether or not the UE can receive the corresponding session.
FIG. 7 is a flowchart showing the operation of the SRNC according to the signal flow diagram of FIG.
Referring to FIG. 7, in step S700, the SRNC receives a cell update message from a UST (Uplink Signaling Transfer) system, and in step S710, determines whether the cell update message requests a handover between RNCs.
If it is determined that a handover is required for the new RNC, the SRNC checks the number n of MBMS services subscribed by the UE and sets the index i to '0' in step S720. Then, in step S730, the SRNC determines whether i is smaller than n. As a result, if i is greater than or equal to n, the SRNC proceeds to step S780. On the other hand, if i is smaller than n, the SRNC repeatedly performs steps S740 to S770 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE.
That is, in step S740, the SRNC confirms whether the UE is interested in the current session of the i-th MBMS service. If it is determined that the UE is interested in the current session, that is, if the UE receives the current session, the SRNC proceeds to step S755 and sets the indifference indicator unset for the i th MBMS service. . However, if the UE has subscribed to the i th MBMS service but is not interested in the current session, ie if the UE does not receive the current session, the SRNC sets an indifference indicator for the i th MBMS service in step S760. In step S770, the service list includes the service ID of the i-th MBMS service and the indifference indicator, and after i is increased by 1, the process returns to step S730.
After repeating steps S730 to S770 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE, the SRNC includes a service list of the form shown in <Table 1> or <Table 2> in the DST message in step S780, and In S790, the DST message is transmitted to the DRNC.
As a result of the determination in step S710, if a handover is not required for the new DRNC, the SRNC proceeds to step S790, transmits the existing DST message to the DRNC, and ends the operation procedure.
FIG. 8 is a flowchart showing the SRNC operation according to the signal flow diagram of FIG.
Referring to FIG. 8, in step S800, the SRNC decides to hand over the UE in the CELL_DCH state, and in step S810, determines whether or not there is a need to hand over to a new DRNC.
If it is determined that the handover is performed to the new DRNC, the SRNC proceeds to step S820. Otherwise, the SRNC transmits an existing radio link setup message to the DRNC in step S890, and ends the above operation.
In step S820, the SRNC confirms the number n of MBMS services subscribed by the UE and sets the index i to 0. Thereafter, in step S830, the SRNC determines whether i is smaller than n. If i is greater than or equal to n, the SRNC proceeds to step S880. However, if i is smaller than n, the SRNC repeatedly performs steps S840 to S870 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE.
That is, the SRNC checks whether the UE is interested in the current session of the i-th MBMS service. As a result of the determination, if the UE is interested in the current session, that is, if the UE receives the current session, the SRNC proceeds to step S855 and does not set the indifference indicator for the i-th MBMS service.
However, if the UE has subscribed to the i th MBMS service but is not interested in the current session, ie if the UE does not receive the current session, the SRNC is indifferent to the i th MBMS service in step S860. The indicator is set, and the service list includes the service ID of the i-th MBMS service and the indifference indicator in step S870, and after i is incremented by 1, the process returns to step S830.
After repeating steps S830 to S870 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE, in step S880, the SRNC includes the service list shown in Table 1 or Table 2 in the radio link setup message, and In S890, a radio link setup message is transmitted to the DRNC, and the above procedure is terminated.
FIG. 9 is a flowchart showing the operation of the DRNC according to the first and second embodiments of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 9, in step S900, the DRNC receives a downlink signaling (DST) message or a radio link setup message from the SRNC to a specific UE. In step S910, the DRNC receives the received downlink signaling message or It is determined whether the wireless link setup message includes a service list as shown in <Table 1> or <Table 2>. If the service list is not included as a result of the determination, the DRNC performs a predefined DRNC operation in step S980.
However, if it is determined that the service list is included, in step S920, the DRNC checks the number n of MBMS services subscribed by the UE and sets the index i to 0, and then in step S930, The DRNC determines whether i is less than n. As a result of the determination, if i is greater than or equal to n, the DRNC proceeds to step S980. As a result of the above determination, if i is smaller than n, the DRNC repeatedly performs steps S940 to S970 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE.
That is, in step S940, the DRNC confirms whether an indifference indicator is set for the i-th MBMS service included in the service list. As a result, if the indifference indicator is set for the i-th MBMS service, in step S960, the UE is added to the MBMS context of the i-th MBMS service to add the UE to the i-th MBMS service transmission mode. Is excluded from counting to determine.
However, if the indifference indicator is not set for the i-th MBMS service, the DRNC adds the UE to the MBMS context of the i-th MBMS service in step S950 and simultaneously counts the UE for the i-th MBMS service. Include in
After performing steps S930 to S970 for all MBMS services included in the service list, the DRNC performs an existing operation using a downlink signal transmission message or a radio link setup message in step S980 and ends the operation. To do.
The third embodiment of the present invention is not interested in a service or a session of services in which the UE is currently in progress of one or more MBMS services subscribed by the UE, regardless of the mobility of the UE. Indicates whether or not.

As shown in Table 3 above, the MBMS session disconnection instruction message always includes at least one MBMS service identifier TMGI (Temporary MBMS Group Identify), so that the

FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing the operation of the SRNC according to the third embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 11, when an MBMS change request message indicating that the current session of a specific MBMS service is not interested is received from the UE in step S1100, the SRNC receives the number n of MBMS services subscribed by the UE in step S1110. In step S1120, the SRNC determines whether i is smaller than n. As a result, if i is greater than or equal to n, the SRNC proceeds to step S1170. On the other hand, if i is smaller than n, the SRNC repeatedly performs steps S1130 to S1160 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE.
That is, the SRNC confirms the context of the i-th MBMS service in step S1130, and determines whether the UE is interested in the i-th MBMS service in step S1140. As a result, if the UE is not interested in the i-th MBMS service, the SRNC includes the service ID and session ID of the i-th MBMS service in the MBMS bearer service list in step S1150, and in step S1160, i After incrementing by 1, the process returns to step S1120. However, if the UE is interested in the i th MBMS service, the SRNC proceeds to step S1160.
After determining whether the UE is interested in all MBMS services currently in progress, the SRNC includes the MBMS bearer service list in the MBMS session disconnection indication message in step S1170, and in step S1180, the DRNC An MBMS session disconnection instruction message is transmitted.
FIG. 12 is a flowchart showing the operation of the DRNC according to the third embodiment of the present invention.
Referring to FIG. 12, in step S1200, the DRNC receives an MBMS session disconnection instruction message including an MBMS bearer service list for a specific UE from the SRNC. In step S1210, the DRNC confirms the number n of MBMS services included in the MBMS bearer service list and sets the index i to '0'. In step S1220, the DRNC determines whether i is smaller than n. As a result, if i is greater than or equal to n, the DRNC ends the operation in step S1250. However, if i is smaller than n as a result of the determination, the DRNC repeatedly performs steps S1230 and S1240 for all MBMS services subscribed by the UE. That is, in step S1230, the DRNC excludes the UE from counting for determining the transmission mode of the i-th MBMS service included in the MBMS bearer service list, and increments i by 1 in step S1240. The process returns to S1220.
