Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus (hereinafter, simply referred to as “image forming apparatus”) using an electrophotographic system, and to a process cartridge that can be attached to and detached from the image forming apparatus.
An electrophotographic image forming apparatus forms an image on a sheet such as a transfer material, which is a recording medium, using an electrophotographic image forming process. These include electrophotographic copying machines, electrophotographic printers such as laser printers and LED printers, factory devices, word processors, and multifunctional multifunction devices. The process cartridge includes, for example, an electrophotographic photosensitive member (hereinafter simply referred to as “photosensitive drum”) which is a drum-shaped image carrier, and at least developing means is integrated as process means acting on the photosensitive drum. This is a cartridge.
In an image forming apparatus, a process cartridge system in which such a process cartridge can be easily attached and detached by a user has become mainstream. According to this process cartridge system, the user can perform maintenance of the apparatus by himself / herself without relying on a service person, so that the operability can be remarkably improved. For this reason, use in image forming apparatuses has been increasing, and a representative example has been proposed by the present applicant (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
In the case of such a process cartridge, an exposure opening for guiding exposure light obtained by reading image information of an original and irradiating the photosensitive drum is provided at a position near the photosensitive drum of the cartridge frame. If the process cartridge is removed from the image forming apparatus and left on the desk or the like, ambient ambient light or illumination light enters the cartridge frame from the exposure opening, generating optical memory on the photosensitive drum, and removing dust, etc. Foreign matter may enter. In order to prevent this, a structure in which the exposure opening is opened and closed with an opening / closing door as necessary has already been put into practical use.
An example of the process cartridge will be schematically described with reference to FIGS.
In the case of the
On the other hand, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 12, a
The
In the case of the
The object of the present invention is to realize a simple structure that can be used as both a light shielding plate that opens and closes an exposure opening and a shielding member that shields entry of foreign matter such as dust, and a process that can greatly reduce the cost by halving the number of parts An object is to provide a cartridge and an image forming apparatus equipped with the cartridge.

It is characterized by having.
According to the process cartridge of the present invention, the function of opening and closing the exposure opening by the sheet-shaped light shielding / shielding member provided on the cartridge frame, and the shielding for blocking foreign matter from entering between the exposure opening and the process means. Combined with function. Therefore, the number of parts is reduced by half, and the cost can be greatly reduced with an extremely simple configuration.
Hereinafter, preferred embodiments of a process cartridge and an image forming apparatus according to the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In addition, the same reference numerals are given to the same or the same kind of members and devices of the process cartridge illustrated in FIGS. 9 to 12, and the description of the overlapping parts is omitted, and the main part of this embodiment is omitted. Will be described by clarifying the difference from the structure of FIGS.
FIG. 1 shows a copying machine using an electrophotographic image forming process as a specific example of the image forming apparatus of this embodiment. FIG. 2 shows a state where the image forming apparatus main body (hereinafter referred to as “apparatus main body”) is opened so that the process cartridge can be attached and detached. The apparatus main body is composed of two large parts, an
In the
Here, the structure of the
On the other hand, in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, a sheet P such as a transfer material serving as a recording medium is conveyed toward the
When the
As can be seen from the above, in the present embodiment, the
On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 3, the
4 is provided with a light-shielding shielding sheet (light-shielding shielding member) 100 having a flexible sheet shape shown in FIG. 4 that opens and closes the
In FIG. 4, when the process cartridge is not attached with the flat light-shielding
As shown in FIG. 3 and FIG. 5 which is an enlarged view of a main part viewed from above, the light shielding /
Referring to FIG. 7, the central portion of the light shielding /
Note that the toner is floating during operation during image formation. In the state where the
In the case of the present embodiment, in FIG. 6, the
Further, as materials and materials used as the
As described above, according to the first embodiment, it is possible to realize a significant cost reduction with an extremely simple configuration in which only the flexible film-shaped light shielding /
(Second Embodiment)
Next, a second embodiment according to the present invention will be described.
In the first embodiment, even if the
In the above, several embodiments of the image forming apparatus of the present invention have been described. However, the present invention is not limited thereto, and other embodiments, application examples, modified examples, and modifications are within the scope not departing from the gist of the present invention. Combinations thereof are also possible.
