Conventionally, a starter that starts an engine has an electromagnetic switch that opens and closes a main contact of a motor circuit (see Patent Document 1).

By the way, in the electromagnetic switch, the end of the rod 120 is fixed to the end surface of the plunger 110 by welding. In this case, the rod 120 may be tilted due to welding distortion (thermal deformation), and thus the distortion is removed. It is necessary to do so, which is a factor of cost increase.
Further, after the rod 120 is fixed to the plunger 110, the contact pressure spring 180 and the movable contact 140 held by the insulating member 130 are assembled to the outer periphery of the rod 120, and a retaining washer 190 for the movable contact 140 is provided. The end of the rod 120 is fixed by heat caulking or the like. Since the washer 190 needs to be fixed while holding the washer 190 in a predetermined position while the contact pressure spring 180 is bent, the working state is unstable and the assembling work is difficult.
The present invention has been made based on the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to provide an electromagnetic switch capable of reducing cost and improving assembly by adopting a rod fixing method capable of eliminating distortion removal. It is in.

(Invention of Claim 1)

An electromagnetic switch comprising a contact pressure spring that urges the movable contact and applies contact pressure to the set of fixed contacts after contacting the fixed contacts of the set, and the holding member is an end face of the plunger The rod is fixed by being press-fitted into the hole portion formed therein, and the rod is fixed by fitting the end portion on the plunger side into the inner periphery of the holding member.

Since the above-mentioned rod is fixed by fitting the end portion on the plunger side into the inner periphery of the holding member, it is not necessary to weld the rod to the end surface of the plunger. Moreover, since the holding member is press-fitted and fixed in a hole formed in the end surface of the plunger, it is not necessary to weld the holding member to the end surface of the plunger. That is, since welding is not used as a means for fixing the rod, welding distortion does not occur. As a result, the distortion removing process can be abolished, and the cost can be reduced.
In addition, since it is not necessary to weld the rod to the end surface of the plunger, the movable contact previously held by the contact pressure spring and the insulating member on the outer periphery of the rod before fitting the plunger side end of the rod to the inner periphery of the holding member Can be assembled in advance, and assemblability is improved.

In this case, the rod can be easily fitted to the inner periphery of the holding member using the elasticity of the snap fit, and the snap claw of the snap fit can be locked to the end surface of the holding member. The rod can be prevented from coming off.

(Invention of Claim 3)
In the electromagnetic switch according to claim 2, when the length of the holding member is L1, and the length from the locking surface of the locking claw locked to the end surface of the holding member to the bottom surface of the hollow portion is L2,
L1> L2 ……………… (1)
The relationship of the above formula (1) is established.
In this case, not only the periphery of the hollow portion of the rod but also the portion (solid portion) having strength from the hollow portion is fitted into the inner periphery of the holding member, so that the rod can be reliably held by the holding member, Tilt can be prevented.

(Invention of Claim 4)
The electromagnetic switch according to claim 1 is characterized in that the rod is fixed by press-fitting an end on the plunger side into the inner periphery of the holding member.
In this case, since the end of the rod can be stably and reliably held by the holding member, the inclination of the rod can be prevented.

FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of the electromagnetic switch 1.
The electromagnetic switch 1 of the present embodiment has a function of opening and closing a main contact (described later) provided in a motor circuit of a starter (not shown), and uses the attractive force of an electromagnet as shown in FIG. A solenoid 3 for driving the plunger 2 and a contact cover 5 that forms a contact chamber 4 between the solenoid 3 and stores the main contact in the contact chamber 4 are provided.
The solenoid 3 includes an electromagnetic coil 6 that forms an electromagnet when energized, a fixed iron core 7 that is magnetized by the electromagnet, a plunger 2 that is attracted to the magnetized fixed iron core 7 and moves to the right in the figure, and is held by the plunger 2. It comprises a rod 9 fixed via a member 8, a return spring 10 for pushing back the plunger 2 when the attractive force of the electromagnet disappears.

The fixed iron core 7 includes an annular base core portion 7a disposed on one end side of the electromagnetic coil 6 and an inner core portion 7b combined on the inner peripheral side of the base core portion 7a.
The plunger 2 is disposed on the inner periphery of the electromagnetic coil 6 so as to face the inner core portion 7 b, and a return spring 10 is disposed between the inner core portion 7 b and the plunger 2.
The contact cover 5 is, for example, a resin molded product, and is assembled into the opening of the solenoid case 11 with a plate-like rubber packing 12 sandwiched between the contact cover 5 and the base core portion 7 a, and is caulked and fixed to the end of the solenoid case 11. ing.

The main contacts are a set of fixed contacts 15 connected to the motor circuit via two external terminals 13 and 14 and a movable contact 17 supported via an insulating member 16 on the opposite side of the rod 9 from the plunger. The movable contact 17 is configured to intermittently connect between the pair of fixed contacts 15 to open and close the main. The movable contact 17 is urged toward the distal end side (the non-plunger side) of the rod 9 by a contact pressure spring 18 disposed between the holding member 8 and the insulating member 16 and fixed to the distal end portion of the rod 9. It is in contact with the washer 19 and is prevented from coming off.
The two external terminals 13 and 14 are a B terminal bolt 13 to which battery current is supplied and an M terminal bolt 14 to which a lead wire (not shown) taken out from the starter motor is connected. It is fixed.

Next, a method for fixing the holding member 8 and the rod 9 according to the present invention will be described.
The holding member 8 is formed by cutting a metal pipe member having an inner diameter slightly larger than the outer diameter of the rod 9 into a predetermined length, and is formed on the end surface of the plunger 2 as shown in FIG. The hole 2a is press-fitted and fixed.
As shown in FIG. 3, the rod 9 is provided with a hollow portion 9a at the end on the plunger side, and a plurality of slit-shaped cuts 9b (see FIG. 3A) are formed on the outer periphery of the hollow portion 9a. A plurality of snap fits 20 are provided, and an end portion on the plunger side having the snap fits 20 is fitted into the inner periphery of the holding member 8 and fixed.

L1>L2…………………(1)
The snap fit 20 has a hook-shaped locking claw 20 a at the tip, and the locking claw 20 a is locked to the end surface of the holding member 8, so that the rod 9 is prevented from coming off from the holding member 8. (See FIG. 1). That is, the rod 9 has its end on the plunger side in a state where the distal end side of the snap fit 20 is elastically deformed radially inward so that the locking claw 20a of the snap fit 20 enters the inner periphery of the holding member 8. The snap fit 20 expands outward (returns to its original shape) when it is fitted into the inner periphery of the holding member 8 and the locking claw 20a passes through the inner periphery of the holding member 8 and protrudes to the outside of the holding member 8. The locking claw 20a is locked to the end surface of the holding member 8, and the rod 9 is prevented from coming off from the holding member 8.
As shown in FIG. 2, the length of the holding member 8 is L1, and the length from the locking surface of the locking claw 20a locked to the end surface of the holding member 8 to the bottom surface of the hollow portion 9a is L2. Sometimes, the relationship of the following formula (1) is established.
L1> L2 ……………… (1)

Next, the operation of the electromagnetic switch 1 will be described.
When an electromagnet is formed by energizing the electromagnetic coil 6 and the fixed iron core 7 is magnetized, an attractive force acts between the inner core portion 7 b of the fixed iron core 7 and the plunger 2, and the plunger 2 compresses the return spring 10. However, it is sucked and moved in the inner core portion 7b (right direction in FIG. 1). By this movement of the plunger 2, the rod 9 is pushed out and the movable contact 17 comes into contact with the set of fixed contacts 15. Then, the movable contact 17 is pressed by the contact pressure spring 18 to close the main contact, and from the battery. Power is supplied to the starter motor.
After the engine is started, when the energization of the electromagnetic coil 6 is stopped and the attraction force of the electromagnet disappears, the plunger 2 is pushed back by the reaction force of the return spring 10, and the movable contact 17 is separated from the set of fixed contacts 15 to become the main contact. Is opened, and power supply to the starter motor is stopped.

(Operation and Effect of Example 1)
In the electromagnetic switch 1 of this embodiment, the rod 9 that supports the movable contact 17 is fixed to the plunger 2 via the holding member 8. That is, the rod 9 is fixed by fitting the end portion on the plunger side into the inner periphery of the holding member 8, so that it is not necessary to weld the rod 9 to the end surface of the plunger 2. Moreover, since the holding member 8 is press-fitted and fixed in the hole 2 a formed in the end surface of the plunger 2, it is not necessary to weld the holding member 8 to the end surface of the plunger 2. According to this structure, since welding is not used as a means for fixing the rod 9, welding distortion does not occur. As a result, the distortion removing process can be abolished, and the cost can be reduced.

In addition, since it is not necessary to weld the rod 9 to the end face of the plunger 2, the contact pressure spring 18 and the insulating member 16 are placed on the outer periphery of the rod 9 in advance before the end of the rod 9 is fitted to the inner periphery of the holding member 8. The held movable contact 17 can be assembled. That is, the washer 19 that prevents the movable contact 17 from being detached can be fixed in advance to the end of the rod 9 before the rod 9 is fitted into the holding member 8 (see FIG. 2). Therefore, when the washer 19 is fixed to the end of the rod 9, it is not necessary to bend the contact pressure spring 18, and since the load of the contact pressure spring 18 is not received, the washer 19 can be fixed easily. .

Further, when the rod 9 is fitted into the inner periphery of the holding member 8, the movable contact 17 and the contact pressure spring 18 held by the insulating member 16 do not fall off from the end of the rod 9, and are prevented by the washer 19. Therefore, the assembly work is also easy.
Furthermore, since the rod 9 is fitted not only around the hollow portion 9a but also to the inner periphery of the holding member 8 up to a portion (solid portion) having a strength higher than the hollow portion 9a, the rod 9 is securely fixed by the holding member 8. The rod 9 can be prevented from tilting.

FIG. 4 is a sectional view in which the holding member 8 and the rod 9 are fixed to the plunger 2.
The second embodiment shows a method in which the rod 9 is press-fitted and fixed to the inner periphery of the holding member 8.
As in the first embodiment, the holding member 8 is fixed by being press-fitted into a hole 2 a formed in the end face of the plunger 2, and the plunger side of the rod 9 is press-fitted and fixed to the inner periphery of the holding member 8.
In addition, a step 8a that restricts the press-fitting depth of the rod 9 is formed on the inner periphery of the holding member 8, and the rod 9 is press-fitted to a position where the peripheral edge portion on the plunger side contacts the step 8a.
According to said structure, since the plunger side of the rod 9 can be hold | maintained stably and reliably by the holding member 8, the inclination of the rod 9 can be prevented.
