Conventionally, in a recording apparatus such as a printer provided with a liquid jet head, for example, a CD-RO
Commercially available prints are made by ejecting ink droplets directly onto the recording area of a disc-shaped recording medium such as M. This is also called label printing. As shown in FIG. 11, the recording medium 1 in which appropriate data is written is placed on the conveying tray 3 with the plain recording area 2 facing upward. Is kept horizontal, as shown in FIG.
After being placed on a and transporting the transport tray 3 to the recording member transport path 4m in the recording device 4,
By ejecting and adhering ink droplets to the recording area 2 of the recording medium 1, figures, characters, symbols, pictures,
A label or the like can be created by recording and printing a photograph or the like (see Patent Documents 1 and 2).
This type of transport tray 3 is formed of a rectangular resin plate as shown in FIGS. 11, 12, and 13, the front portion is formed with a taper 3a, and the rear upper surface is formed with a display portion 3b showing usability.
A medium accommodating portion 6 that is recessed in a donut shape for holding the recording medium 1 is formed on the substantially central side, and a claw portion 7 that is formed in a convex shape is provided in the central portion. When the recording medium 1 is accommodated in the medium accommodating portion 6, the recording medium 1 is held on the upper surface side of the transport tray 3 by fitting the claw portion 7 into the central hole 8 of the recording medium 1. Two conveyance holes 9 a and 9 b are formed in the conveyance tray 3 at a portion corresponding to the outer peripheral side of the recording medium 1, and the recording medium in the medium storage unit 6 is utilized using the finger insertion holes 9 a and 9 b. 1 is made easy to remove. Further, grooves 10 parallel to each other are formed on the surface side of the transport tray 3 other than the medium accommodating portion 6, and grooves not shown in the figure are formed on the opposite surface at positions alternately with the grooves 10. Deformation of the tray 3 during molding is prevented. A position detection unit 14 and a reflecting plate 14m made of holes are attached to the transport tray 3 at predetermined positions. There are various methods for recording and printing by transporting the transport tray 3 into the recording device 4, depending on the type of the recording device 4.
As an example, as shown in FIG. 12, the horizontal height of the tray mounting plate 4a is raised upward by operating the lever 11 provided on the left side of the front portion of the recording device 4 downward. As a result, the height of the transport tray 3 inserted from the front on the tray mounting plate 4a is set so as to coincide with the recording member transport path 4m facing the liquid ejecting head side in the recording apparatus 4. Carry tray 3
When the mark portion 3h is pushed into the recording apparatus 4 so as to match the reference designated position 13, the position detecting portion 14 of the transport tray 3 and the like are detected. Thus, after the transport tray 3 is transported to a predetermined position in the recording member transport path 4m, the position detection operation of the transport tray 3 is performed, and the ink 5 is applied to the recording area 2 of the recording medium 1 by the liquid ejecting head. By spraying and adhering, recording / printing of a printed material such as a figure or a character is performed, and the transport tray 3 holds the recording medium 1,
It will be discharged gradually.
A cassette for holding a small disc-shaped recording medium called 8 cm CD having a smaller diameter than the reference can also be attached to the medium accommodating portion 6 of the transport tray 3, and a graphic, Characters can be recorded and printed.
For example, in the case of an optical information recording medium (optical disc), the recording medium 1 includes a read-only type, a write-once type, and a rewritable type (CD-ROM, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW, DVD + RW, etc.). Also, for example, it is configured by laminating necessary thin films (recording layer, reflective layer, protective layer, etc.) on one side of a transparent plastic substrate made of polycarbonate, and this one side 1m is used for reading and writing data and the like. As shown in the figure, the opposite surface 1n is coated with an ink permeable film 2a to be used as an ink recording area 2. However, on the recording area 2 side of the recording medium 1, a ring foil 1a made of a thin ring-shaped metal film or the like is fixed to the outermost peripheral side by vapor deposition, sputtering, etc., so that the outer periphery of the recording medium 1 is There is also a type that prevents any object from being damaged. Further, in the recording area 2, the portion F (see FIG. 13) of about 5 mm from the inner peripheral side of the recording medium 1 is not processed as a recording surface on the inner peripheral side, and therefore this portion is not the background of the transparent plastic substrate. The ring-shaped non-recording area 1b remains.
Therefore, at the time of label printing, the ink 5 of the liquid ejecting head is fixed on the recording area 2 and displays graphics, characters, and the like.

However, according to the transport tray 3 having the above-described configuration, the outer peripheral side and inner peripheral side (center side) of the recording area 2 when recording and printing figures, characters, and the like made of the ink 5 on the recording area 2 of the recording medium 1. There is a drawback that ring-shaped borders 1c and 1d that are not printed on both of them are generated. The reason is that when the ejected ink 5 of the liquid ejecting head protrudes from the recording area 2 in the outer peripheral direction and is ejected and recorded, the ink 5 is ejected from the ring foil 1 a on the outer peripheral side of the recording medium 1 to the surface of the transport tray 3. Will be recorded and printed. The ring foil 1a and the transport tray 3 are made of hard metal.
Since it is made of a hard resin and does not have the permeability or absorbability of the ejected ink 5, if ink droplets are ejected to this portion, the ink 5 is scattered or removed after adhering. Or it may cause dirt around the periphery. Similarly, on the inner peripheral side of the recording medium 1, the non-recording area 1b is the background of the transparent plastic substrate, and the ink 5 is not permeable or absorbable. Scattered,
As a result, the recording medium 1 or the like is soiled. In consideration of variations in CDR printing position accuracy, it is necessary to provide ring-shaped borders 1c and 1d as non-recordable areas on the outer and inner circumferences of the recording area 2. However, the borders 1c and 1d clearly appear as a ring-shaped display on the surface as a background portion of the recording area 2 where recording / printing has not been performed,
The graphics, characters, etc. displayed in the recording area 2 are unsightly.
That is, when the borders 1c and 1d as the non-recordable areas are provided on the outer circumference and the inner circumference of the recording area 2, the borders 1c and 1d are present in the presence of the printed material such as graphics and characters in the recording area 2. Not only does it give a sense of incongruity, but it also has the disadvantage that it restricts the representation of graphics and characters to be recorded and printed in the recording area 2.
In addition, in order to perform borderless printing, a technique including an ink absorbing material that absorbs ejected ink from a liquid ejecting head ejected beyond the border is known (see Patent Document 3 and the like). But,
This technique does not consider recording / printing using a transport tray, and has a disadvantage that handling is inconvenient because the ink absorbing material is powdered.
In addition, in order to perform borderless printing of the recording paper, ink droplets are ejected outside the recording paper, and the ink droplets ejected outside the recording paper are captured by a capturing member provided on the platen. This technique is known (see Patent Document 4). But even with this technology,
No consideration is given to the case of using a transport tray, and the capturing member is made of a considerably thick member, so that it is not easy to handle.
Therefore, the present invention can remove the outer periphery or inner periphery of the recording area of the recording member, increase the expression of graphics, characters, etc. to the recording area, the transport tray, the liquid absorbing member, and the cover. A recording member is provided.

Therefore, the recording / printing range for the recording area 2 is set to the liquid absorbing sheets 20, 2.
Since the position up to 5 can be set in advance, the edges 1c and 1d (see FIG. 11) generated on the inner and outer circumferences of the conventional recording medium 1 can be removed. In particular, since the liquid absorbing sheet 20 on the outer peripheral side covers the ring foil 1a and the upper surface 23 of the transport tray 3, since the ejected ink of the ejecting head does not adhere to these, the recording area up to the conventional border is recorded. 2 can be widened, and the border 1c can be surely removed, so that the expressive power of figures, characters, etc. to the recording area 2 can be increased.

In this way, each time recording / printing on one recording medium 1 is completed, the recording medium 1 is replaced with a new one that has not been recorded / printed, and the liquid absorbent sheets 20, 25 are stored in the previous recording medium 1. The liquid absorbing sheets 20 and 25 which are not so dirty and used at the time of recording / printing can be reused as they are. However, if the ink is contaminated so that it cannot be reused, new liquid absorbing sheets 20 and 25 are prepared, and the recording medium 1 is set as shown in FIGS. 26, the transport tray 3 may be set on the recording device 4 for recording and printing.

By the way, since the liquid absorbent sheets 20 and 25 need to be peeled off after completion of one or several operations, the liquid absorbent sheets 20 and 25 are required to be easily peeled off without requiring excessive force. Because of this necessity, in the first embodiment, the adhesives 24 and 26 are used instead of the adhesive to stick the liquid absorbing sheets 20 and 25. Examples of the pressure-sensitive adhesives 24 and 26 include natural rubber-based, nitrile rubber-based, epoxy resin-based, vinyl acetate eco-based, acrylic-based,
Various materials such as an acrylate copolymer system, a polyvinyl alcohol system, and a phenol resin system may be used.

By the way, in the description of FIG. 1, FIG. 2 and FIG. 3, it has been described that the liquid absorbing sheets 20 and 25 are molded and attached at the time of recording / printing on the recording medium 1. It is also conceivable to sell the absorbent sheet 20 as it is affixed to the transport tray 3 from the beginning. In this way, the user obtains the transport tray 3 with the liquid absorbent sheet 20 attached thereto, attaches only the liquid absorbent sheet 25 to the recording medium 1, and inserts the recording medium 1 into the medium storage unit 6. Since it can be loaded into the recording apparatus 4 simply by placing the liquid absorbing sheet 20, the work load for attaching the liquid absorbent sheet 20 can be reduced. In this case, the inner diameter F of the circular hole 21 of the liquid absorbing sheet 20 is slightly smaller than the outer diameter of the recording medium 1, but the value is slight.
It is easy to insert the recording medium 1 into the medium accommodating portion 6, but if it is difficult, the slit 21
b may be added to the inner periphery of the circular hole 21 so that the inner diameter of the circular hole 21 is slightly widened when the recording medium 1 is inserted.

Alternatively, the following method can be considered as another measure for reducing the work burden on the user. When the transport tray 3 is sold, as an accessory of the transport tray 3, as shown in the perspective view of FIG. 4, a circular hole 21 is formed, and the transport tray has a surface area covering almost the entire upper surface of the transport tray 3. 3
The position detection unit 14 provided in FIG. 1 has a notch 20m formed so as to be sufficiently exposed, and an adhesive 24 is previously applied to the back side thereof, and a release paper 27 is pasted on the adhesive 24. The liquid absorbent sheet 30 is sold. Furthermore, a liquid absorbent sheet 32 having an adhesive 26 on the back side and having a release paper 31 attached on the adhesive 26 is sold. By selling such liquid absorbing sheets 30, 32 with release paper as accessories of the transport tray 3,
The user sets the recording medium 1 on the transport tray 3 after peeling the release paper 27,
The liquid absorbent sheet 30 is pasted so as to press the ring foil 1 a on the outer periphery of the recording medium 1, and the release paper 31 is peeled off, and then the liquid absorbent sheet is placed on the non-recording area 1 b on the inner periphery of the recording medium 1. 32 may be pasted and put into the recording apparatus 4 in this state to perform recording / printing.
That is, since it is only necessary to peel the release papers 27 and 31 and paste the liquid absorbing sheets 30 and 32, the work burden on the user can be reduced. Here, as the release papers 27 and 31, a resin film having a surface smoothness of 20 microns to 100 microns which can be easily peeled off, for example,
Polyester film, polyethylene film, polypropylene film, or smooth release paper, for example, single-sided polylaminated paper, double-sided polylaminated paper, and grameen paper in which polyethylene resin is melt-extruded and coated on both sides of the paper may be used.

In addition, the liquid absorption sheets 30 and 3 which have the adhesives 24 and 26 and the release papers 27 and 31 shown in FIG.
As the production method 2, it is conceivable to form a pack paper by die cutting, and apply it as it is using a paste on the back surface. Since the pack paper is a printing paper on which a release paper is pasted via a paste applied to the back surface, the liquid absorbent sheets 30 and 3 can be obtained by removing the pack paper and using it.
It is completed as 2, and the application | coating process of an adhesive can be skipped.

5 and 6 are a perspective view and a perspective view of a main part of the best mode 2 of the recording method and transport tray 3 according to the present invention.
5 and 6, reference numeral 40 denotes a liquid absorbent sheet made of thick paper or the like having the same shape as the liquid absorbent sheet 20 shown in FIG. 1, and the side portion 42 is connected to the side portion of the transport tray 3 via a hinge portion 41. It is attached to 43 so that opening and closing is possible. That is, the pin 44 shown in FIG. 6 is attached to the side portion 43 of the transport tray 3 with the crimping piece 45 so as to protrude in a direction parallel to the side portion 43 of the transport tray 3, and is attached to the side portion 42 of the liquid absorbing sheet 40. A cylindrical body 46 into which the pin 44 is inserted is attached by a caulking piece 47. The tip end side of the pin 44 is threaded, and a female screw 47m is screwed to the screw portion 44a. The liquid absorbing sheet 40 is attached to the side portion 43 of the transport tray 3 so as to be freely opened and closed. A Velcro fastener 48 is fixed to the side opposite to the side portion 42 of the liquid absorbent sheet 40, and a Velcro fastener 49 is provided on the transport tray 3 corresponding to the Velcro fastener 48. The sheet 40 can be held in a closed state.
The caulking pieces 45 and 47 are screwed with screws 45a and 47a.

Therefore, after the recording medium 1 is accommodated in the medium accommodating portion 6 of the transport tray 3, the liquid absorbing sheet 4 is stored.
0 is closed in the direction of the recording medium 1, the Velcro fastener 48 and the Velcro fastener 49 are joined, and the ring foil 1 a on the outer periphery of the recording medium 1 is covered with the peripheral edge 21 a inside the circular hole 21 of the liquid absorbing sheet 40. Since the jet ink of the recording medium 1 can be jetted to the outer circumference and the inner circumference of the recording medium 1 by putting it in the recording apparatus 4 after being in a state, the jet ink can be jetted up to the conventional border, and recording and printing can be performed. The border can be removed.
According to the second embodiment, the liquid absorbing sheet 40 can be replaced with a new one, and a pasting operation becomes unnecessary, so that the user's burden can be reduced.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view of the best mode 3 of the recording method and the transport tray 3 according to the present invention.
In FIG. 7, reference numeral 50 denotes a sheet layer obtained by laminating layers having substantially the same shape as the liquid absorbent sheet 20 described with reference to FIGS. 1, 2, and 3 through an adhesive 24. Is configured as a product by sticking the lowermost liquid absorbing sheet 20 to the transport tray 3 via the adhesive 24. Similarly, reference numeral 60 denotes a sheet layer in which the liquid absorbent sheet 25 is multilayered via the adhesive 26, and the lowermost liquid absorbent sheet 25 is stuck to a predetermined position of the recording medium 1 via the adhesive 26a.

According to this, since the liquid absorbent sheet 20 is sold as an integral part with the transport tray 3 or the liquid absorbent sheet 25 is sold as an integral part with the recording medium 1, the handling becomes easy. Moreover, since the new liquid absorbent sheets 20 and 25 can always be used only by peeling from the upper layer every time recording and printing are performed several times, the trouble of pasting the liquid absorbent sheets 20 and 25 can be saved. The inner diameter of the circular hole 21 may be expanded to the same size as the medium accommodating portion 6 when it is difficult to accommodate the recording medium 1 in the medium accommodating portion 6. According to this, although some ink adheres to the ring foil 1a, since the ring foil 1a is thin, the amount of ink attached is very small, and it is considered that it does not pose a big problem in removing the border.
