Description

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a press-contact joint connector that forms a branch circuit by arranging a plurality of electric wires in a housing in a substantially parallel manner, press-contacting the wires to press-contact terminals, and cutting predetermined wires.

As shown in Patent Document 1, for example, a press-contact joint connector is known which is formed by housing a plurality of press-contact terminals of electric wires in a housing in which a plurality of electric wire insertion ports are arranged in parallel at both ends. In this pressure contact terminal, two blade portions that press-contact a pair of adjacent wires are connected in a direction orthogonal to the wire, and when forming a branch circuit, the pressure contact terminals are paired in the direction orthogonal to the wire. The position of one electric wire is shifted and arranged at both ends, three electric wires are inserted into the housing in parallel and two electric wires are pressed into each press contact terminal, and then the electric wire between the press contact terminals is cut with a cutting blade. . As a result, two sets of branch circuits having two branches are obtained.

Japanese Patent No. 3541540

In this press-contact joint connector, there is a strong demand for reducing the size for reasons such as space saving and cost. However, if the downsizing is realized, there is a possibility that an error circuit may be caused by crossing when wiring the wires. In order to prevent this, it is effective to form a receiving groove for the electric wire in the housing. However, if a partition wall is provided between the electric wires, there is a problem that a sufficient space for cutting the electric wire cannot be secured.

Therefore, the present invention provides a method of manufacturing a press-contact joint connector that prevents miswiring of electric wires and can maintain cost savings and space saving as well as good workability in wiring and cutting. According to the second aspect of the invention, in addition to the effect of the first aspect, the rib is automatically retracted to the immersive position by the pushing portion of the cutting jig when the electric wire is cut, so that the positioning jig itself is moved. The rib can be easily retracted even without it. Moreover, positioning of the electric wire at the time of a cutting | disconnection is also reliably possible by a pushing part.
According to the third aspect of the present invention, in addition to the effect of the first or second aspect, since the through holes of the housing are arranged substantially side by side, the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the electric wire in a state where the rib is retracted A wide cutting space can be secured.
According to invention of Claim 4, in addition to the effect in any one of Claims 1 thru | or 3, the rib and the partition wall of a housing are connected continuously, By which it can prevent the incorrect wiring of an electric wire more reliably. It becomes.
According to the fifth aspect of the invention, in addition to the effect of any of the first to fourth aspects, the electric wire can be cut even in a small cutting space, and a compact press-fit joint connector can be manufactured. Moreover, since a sufficient insulation distance can be ensured between the cut ends even in a compact configuration, there is no risk of conduction without providing a wall or the like that partitions the ends of the electric wires.

Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
FIG. 1 is an exploded perspective view showing an example of a pressure-joint joint connector manufactured according to the present invention. The pressure-joint connector 1 has a planar rectangular shape in which a plurality of substantially parallel receiving grooves 3, 3,. The housing 2 and a cover 4 that closes the upper surface of the housing 2 when assembled to the housing 2 are provided.
The housing 2 includes a bottom plate 2a, a side wall 2b, and a partition wall 8. The side wall 2b is erected on both sides of the bottom plate 2a in the direction of the electric wire 9 (the longitudinal direction of the electric wire 9 in FIG. 1), and a plurality of partition walls 8 are erected on the bottom plate 2a in parallel with the side wall 2b. An accommodation groove 3 for the electric wire 9 is formed between the partition walls 8. Further, each partition wall 8 is cut out in the central portion of the housing 2 in the wiring direction of the electric wire 9, so that the central portion of the housing 2 is orthogonal to the wiring direction of the electric wire 9 as shown in FIG. 2. A series of cutting spaces 10 (dotted line portions in FIG. 2) are formed over the entire direction (from one side wall 2b side to the other side wall 2b side).

5, 5... Are press contact terminals arranged at the front and rear ends in the longitudinal direction of the housing 2 (here, coincident with the longitudinal direction of the electric wire 9). As shown in FIG. Dual terminals in which metal fittings 5a, 5a, each having a pair of U-shaped receiving blades 6, 6 formed in the direction of the housing groove 3, are connected to each other adjacent to each other in the direction orthogonal to the housing groove 3 by connecting portions 5b, 5b. (Hereinafter, this pressure contact terminal is referred to as “double terminal”). As shown in FIG. 3 (B), a pair of insulation barrels 7 and 7 for caulking and fixing the insulation coating of the electric wires 9 are erected on the end side of the accommodation groove 3 in each duplex terminal 5.

Three double terminals 5 are arranged in parallel so as to form two rows in two in the short direction perpendicular to the housing groove 3 at both ends of the housing 9 in the direction of the electric wire 9 and the double terminals 5 between the two rows. Are arranged in a staggered manner so as to face each other with a shift of one of the receiving grooves 3. Further, between the double terminals 5 and 5 at both ends of the housing 2, a cutting space 10 for the electric wire 9 is formed in such a manner that the partition wall 8 forming the receiving groove 3 is cut in the middle in the electric wire longitudinal direction. 10 are formed in the short direction of the housing 2 (longitudinal direction of the electric wire 9). A plurality of such lines are arranged side by side in a direction orthogonal to the direction.
The electric wires 9, 9,... Are arranged in a single wire pressure welding device in seven receiving grooves 3 including the receiving grooves 3 at both ends in the short direction in which the double terminals 5 are accommodated only on one side of the front and rear by staggered arrangement. Whether the electric wires 9 are individually pressed and crimped by the insulation barrels 7 and 7 with the press-contacting blades, or the plural electric wires 9 are simultaneously pressed and caulked by the insulation barrels 7 and 7 with the multiple press-contacting blades. It can be accommodated.

When manufacturing the press-contact joint connector 1 configured as described above, a positioning jig 12 as shown in FIG. 4 is used. This positioning jig 12 includes a plurality of plate-like ribs 14 that can be loosely inserted into the through holes 11 of the housing 2 on a flat base 13 so as to be parallel to each other at intervals of the through holes 11, 11. The housing is set up on the positioning jig 12 with the ribs 14 aligned with the positions of the through holes 11, so that the ribs 14 are housed on both sides of the electric wires 9 through the through holes 11. 2 will protrude.
With the positioning jig 12 projecting the ribs 14 into the housing 2, the electric wires 9 are positioned in the respective housing grooves 3, and the double terminals 5 are arranged to perform wiring. The ribs 14 do not cause incorrect wiring of the electric wires 9. In particular, here, since the protruding rib 14 is continuously connected in the longitudinal direction of the partition wall 8 of the housing 2 and the electric wire 9, erroneous wiring can be prevented more reliably.

After the electric wire 9 is wired, the positioning jig 12 is lowered to retract each rib 14 from the housing 2, and an intermediate portion of the predetermined electric wire 9 is cut in the cutting space 10. FIG. 5 is a schematic diagram showing an electric circuit formed in the press-contact joint connector 1. As shown in the figure, the electric wires 9 are pressed and fixed by the double terminals 5 arranged in a staggered manner to form an integrated electric circuit. However, in the cutting space 10, x points A and A in the figure are formed. ... An arbitrary circuit can be formed by cutting the electric wire 9 at any one or more of them.
For this cutting, for example, a cutting jig 20 as shown in FIGS. The cutting jig 20 has a shaft hole 24 that opens on the lower surface in the lower part of a block-shaped jig body 21, and a fixing groove 25 that is in communication with the shaft hole 24 in the lower surface and is recessed in the diameter direction. The movable blade 27 is rotatably accommodated in the fixed blade 23 and the shaft hole 24 of the fixed blade 23, and a movable groove 27 having the same width and depth as the fixed groove 25 of the fixed blade 23 is recessed in the diametrical direction at the lower end. A plurality of cutting blades 22, 22... Composed of blades 26 are projected on a straight line at a pitch that matches the interval of the electric wires 9. The jig body 21 accommodates a slider 28 that slides by operating a lever (not shown) and is connected to the movable blade 26 of each cutting blade 22 via a link member (not shown). 6 and 7A, each movable blade 26 is connected to the fixed groove 25 continuously with the movable groove 27, and the movable groove 27 is connected to the fixed groove 25. It can rotate in synchronization with the cutting position shown in FIG.

The cutting blade 22 of the cutting jig 20 is inserted across the fixed groove 25 and the movable groove 27 so as to cut each of the movable blades 26 in a state where each movable blade 26 is in the standby position, as shown in FIG. In other words, when the electric wire 9 is inserted into the one groove and the lever is operated, the slider 28 slides to rotate each movable blade 26. Then, the insertion portion 9a of the electric wire 9 into the movable groove 27 follows and rotates, whereby both ends of the insertion portion 9a are sheared between the fixed blade 23 and the movable blade 26, and the cutting shown in FIG. At the position, the insertion portion 9a is completely cut at both ends of the movable groove 27 in the shaft hole 24 (note that the electric wire 9 having both ends cut is removed outside the housing 2). At the time of this cutting, the cutting space 10 is sufficiently widened by retracting the ribs 14 of the positioning jig 12, so that the cutting by the cutting jig 20 is performed smoothly.

After cutting the electric wire 9, the cutting jig 20 is retracted from the housing 2, and finally the electric wire 9 is press-contacted to each duplex terminal 5. It should be noted that the arrangement of the electric wires 9 is maintained by the partition wall 8 during this pressure contact.
In this way, as shown in FIG. 8, the pressure welding joint connector 1 is obtained in which a predetermined electric wire 9 is cut at a time in the cutting space 10 to form a branch circuit. In this case, a large insulation distance between the ends of the remaining wires 9 is ensured in the cutting space 10.

As described above, according to the method for manufacturing the press-contact joint connector 1 of the above-described form, the through holes 11 located on both sides of the wiring portion of each electric wire 9 are formed in the cutting space 10 at the bottom of the housing 2, thereby A positioning jig 12 is used in which a plurality of ribs 14 that can pass through the holes 11 are erected in accordance with the positions of the through holes 11, and the ribs 14 of the positioning jig 12 are penetrated from below the housing 2 when the electric wires 9 are wired. Each wire 9 is positioned by projecting to both sides of the wire 9 through the hole 11, and the ribs 14 are retracted from the housing 2 when the wire 9 is cut. While being able to prevent, good workability | operativity at the time of wiring and cutting can also be maintained. Therefore, an increase in cost can be suppressed, and a space-saving press-fit joint connector can be manufactured. Further, since the rib 14 does not interfere with the cutting blade 22 when the electric wire 9 is cut, the pitch of the electric wire 9 can be set to the minimum dimension that the cutting blade 22 can be inserted, and even a small pressure joint connector can be used.
In particular, since the through holes 11 for projecting the ribs 14 of the positioning jig 12 are arranged substantially side by side in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the electric wires 9, the longitudinal direction of the electric wires 9 can be reduced with the ribs 14 retracted. A wider cutting space can be secured in a direction perpendicular to the direction.

A fixed blade 23 provided with a shaft hole 24 that opens to the end surface and a fixing groove 25 that is recessed in the end surface so as to communicate with the shaft hole 24 in the diameter direction of the shaft hole 24 for cutting the electric wire 9. The cutting blade 22 is rotatably inserted into the shaft hole 24 and includes a cutting blade 22 having a fixed groove 25 and a movable blade 26 having a continuous movable groove 27 recessed in the diameter direction on the end surface on the fixed groove 25 side. By using the jig 20 and inserting the predetermined electric wire 9 across the fixed groove 25 and the movable groove 27 of the cutting blade 22 in the cutting space 10 and rotating the movable blade 26, the electric wire 9 is moved in the longitudinal direction. By cutting at the two points, the electric wire 9 can be cut even in a small cutting space 10, and a compact press-fit joint connector can be manufactured. Moreover, since a sufficient insulation distance can be ensured between the cut ends even in a compact configuration, there is no risk of conduction without providing a wall or the like that partitions the ends of the electric wires.

In the positioning jig of the above embodiment, the rib is erected on the base in a fixed state, but a positioning jig 15 as shown in FIG. 9 is also conceivable. The positioning jig 15 accommodates individual ribs 18 from above in a plurality of bottomed holes 17, 17... Formed in the jig body 16, and penetrates the through holes 11 of the housing 2. As an urging means provided at the bottom of each bottomed hole 17, it is provided so that it can be retracted between a projecting position projecting inward and a retracted position retracted from the housing 2 and accommodated in the bottomed hole 17. The ribs 18 are normally biased to the protruding position by the coil spring 19.
On the other hand, the jig main body 21 of the cutting jig 20 has an inverted U-shaped pushing portion that abuts against the ribs 18 on both sides across the electric wire 9 when the electric wire 9 is cut, and pushes the rib 18 into the immersive position. 29 is provided in parallel for each cutting blade 22.

Therefore, when manufacturing the press-contact joint connector using the positioning jig 15 and the cutting jig 20, after the wire 9 is wired to the housing 2 and press-contacted to the double terminal 5 as described above, it is in the protruding position. When the housing 2 is set on the positioning jig 15 with the ribs 18 aligned with the positions of the through holes 11, the ribs 18 enter the cutting space 10 of the housing 2 on both sides of the electric wires 9 through the through holes 11. Protruding.
Next, when the cutting blade 22 of the cutting jig 20 is lowered to the position of the electric wire 9 to be cut, the pushing portion 29 comes into contact with the ribs 18 and 18 on both sides of the electric wire 9 as shown in FIG. Push into the immersive position. In this state, the electric wire 9 is cut. However, even if the rib 18 is inserted, the electric wire 9 is positioned by the alternative push-in portion 29, so that the electric wire 9 is not displaced.

Thus, also by the manufacturing method of the press-contact joint connector of a modification, the miswiring of the electric wire 9 can be prevented and the favorable workability | operativity at the time of wiring or cutting can also be maintained. Therefore, an increase in cost can be suppressed, and a space-saving press-fit joint connector can be manufactured. Particularly in this example, the rib 18 of the positioning jig 15 can be moved in and out between the protruding position into the housing 2 and the retracted position retracted from the housing 2 by being pushed from above, and is attached to the protruding position by the coil spring 19. On the other hand, the cutting jig 20 is provided with a pushing portion 29 that can abut against the rib 18 when the wire 9 is cut and can be pushed into the immersive position. Therefore, the rib 18 can be easily retracted without moving the positioning jig 15 itself. Moreover, positioning of the electric wire 9 at the time of cutting | disconnection by the pushing part 29 is attained reliably.

In addition, in the above embodiment, the electric wire is cut with a cutting jig equipped with a plurality of cutting blades, but even with a cutting jig equipped with a single cutting blade, the number of times of cutting increases, but the positioning jig Cutting by is possible. Further, as such a cutting jig, a known tool such as a nipper may be used.
On the other hand, the number of receiving grooves provided in the press-fit joint connector is not limited to the above form, and can be increased or decreased, and the press-contact terminals can be three or more terminals according to the number of wires used and the required branch circuit, or combined with the double terminals. It can be appropriately changed. Of course, the number and shape of the receiving blades can be changed. Furthermore, the number of insulation barrels can be increased and the design can be changed such as arranging the left and right claws in a staggered manner, and can be omitted.

And the through-hole 11 provided in a housing bottom part is not restricted to the ellipse shape like the said form, The round as shown to FIG. 10 (A) (B), the square shown to (C), Six shown to (D). The design can be changed as appropriate, such as a rectangular shape and a rhombus shown in (E) and (F), and a plurality of them can be provided in the wiring direction of the electric wire. Of course, the number and shape of the ribs of the positioning jig may be appropriately changed in accordance with the shape of the through-hole, and a plurality of positioning jigs may be used. If the through holes and ribs are elongated in the longitudinal direction of the electric wire as described above, the gap with the partition wall is reduced, which is more suitable for preventing erroneous wiring. In addition, although the number of the through-holes 11 may be single as shown to FIG. 10 (A) and (E) about the wiring 9 wiring direction, the figure (B) (C) (D) (F) As shown in FIG. 5, the plurality of wires 9 can stably prevent erroneous wiring of the electric wires 9. In addition, the number of the push-in portions 29 may be as many as the number of the through-holes 11, but as shown in FIGS. It is good also as a structure prepared for a change.
In the above embodiment, the partition wall is partially formed on the housing except for the cutting space, and the positioning jig is used only when the electric wire is wired. However, the number of positioning jigs and the arrangement of the ribs are used. Depending on the form, it is possible to omit all the partition walls and position the electric wire using a positioning jig even when the electric wire is pressed.
