Description
本願は、2003年9月26日出願の米国出願第10/670,465号の部分継続出願であり、米国特許法第120条に基づいて、同出願の優先権を主張するものである。ここに参照された出願の開示は、その全体が、ここに援用することにより本件に組み込まれるものとする。
本発明は、特に曲がりくねった血管内における経管処置で使用するためのカテーテルに関するものである。
Claims (18)
- カテーテルにおいて、
ガイドワイヤ管腔および膨張管腔を定めるシャフト部を備え、該シャフト部には、シャフトの外面からガイドワイヤ管腔まで半径方向に延びる長手方向切り込みが設けられており、膨張管腔が弧状の形状になっており、
さらに、第1の肉厚を有するとともに、一部が環状である断面を有している第1の概ね管状の補強部材と、
第1の肉厚よりも薄い第2の肉厚を有する湾曲した細長い補強部材とを備え、該湾曲した細長い補強部材は、第1の概ね管状の補強部材の上に配置されて、第1の概ね管状の補強部材と組み合わされて膨張管腔の壁を形成するとともに、湾曲した細長い補強部材の上面はガイドワイヤ管腔の一部を形成しており、
さらに、シャフト部の上に配置され、かつ、長手方向の切り込みを介してガイドワイヤ管腔と連絡状態になるようにするためのガイド部材を備える、
ことを特徴とするカテーテル。 - カテーテルにおいて、
ガイドワイヤ管腔および膨張管腔を定める近位シャフト部を備え、該近位シャフト部は、膨張管腔が弧状の形状になっており、
さらに、膨張管腔の内側に配置された2部構成の補強手段と、
前記近位シャフト部よりも可撓性が大きい遠位シャフト部と、
を備えることを特徴とするカテーテル。 - さらに、近位端および遠位端を設けた遷移部を備え、前記近位端は、前記近位シャフト部と連絡状態にあり、前記遠位端は前記遠位シャフト部と連絡状態にあることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記2部構成の補強部材は、前記近位端から前記遠位端に向けて硬度が低減されており、前記2部構成の補強部材は前記遷移部の中に延びていることを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記2部構成の補強部材の外面は前記ガイドワイヤ管腔の一部を形成していることを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記2部構成の補強部材は、
第1の肉厚、第1の凸状面、および、第1の凹状面を有し、かつ、一部が環状である第1の補強部材と、
第2の肉厚、第2の凸状面、および、第2の凹状面を有する第2の補強部材とを更に備えており、第2の補強部材は、第2の凸状面が第1の凹状面の方を向くようにして第1の補強部材と機械的に連結されており、第1の補強部材と第2の補強部材の組み合わせにより液体密封式の管を形成するようにした、
ことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のカテーテル。 - 前記第1の補強部材は金属であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の補強部材は金属であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の補強部材は重合体であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の補強部材は重合体であることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の補強部材と前記第2の補強部材は、粘着剤接着、重ね接合熱圧縮接着、レーザー溶接、および、超音波溶接のうちの1つにより機械的に連結されることを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の肉厚は前記第1の肉厚よりも薄いことを特徴とする、請求項6に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の補強部材はハイポチューブの一部であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の補強部材はハイポチューブの一部であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の補強部材は湾曲したプレート材であることを特徴とする、請求項7に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の補強部材は湾曲したプレート材であることを特徴とする、請求項8に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第1の補強部材は熱硬化性プラスチックであることを特徴とする、請求項9に記載のカテーテル。
- 前記第2の補強部材は熱硬化性プラスチックであることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のカテーテル。
