Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a printer device that prints on a recording material such as recording paper based on image information and a cassette or cartridge that is a consumable part thereof.
2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, printer devices as computer output devices and digital video output devices can be classified into thermal transfer printer devices, ink jet printer devices, laser printer devices, wire dot printer devices, and the like according to recording methods. Among them, the line thermal transfer type printer device uses an ink sheet and a recording paper, selectively drives a plurality of heating elements arranged in the main scanning direction, and conveys the ink sheet and the recording paper in the sub scanning direction. Thus, printing is performed on the recording paper in the form of dot lines. In recent years, with the progress of input devices that handle images such as digital cameras, digital video cameras, and scanners on the input side, attention has been focused on thermal transfer printer devices. The thermal transfer type printer device is a printer device suitable for printing out electronic image information captured by a still camera or a video camera that records a still image via a computer or a recording medium.
For example, in other types of printer devices such as an ink jet printer device, there is only a binary selection as to whether or not to form dots, so that an apparent resolution can be obtained by a method such as error diffusion while forming small dots on recording paper. Gradation is obtained. On the other hand, in the case of a thermal transfer printer device, the heat value that can control one pixel can be easily changed, so that a large gradation can be obtained for one pixel. Therefore, there is an advantage that a smooth and high-quality image can be obtained as compared with other printer apparatuses such as an ink jet printer apparatus. Further, since the thermal transfer printer device has improved the performance of the thermal head as a recording means and the performance of the recording paper material, it is possible to obtain an image print that is not inferior to a silver salt photograph even in the finished quality. As a result, in order to keep pace with recent advances in digital cameras, it has attracted particular attention as a printer for natural images.
Furthermore, a system that directly prints out without connecting a thermal transfer printer device to an imaging device such as a digital camera or a digital video camera has appeared. Alternatively, there is a system in which a thermal transfer printer device and an imaging device are integrally configured to directly print out captured image information without using a device such as a computer for processing image information. According to such a system, image information from a digital camera or a digital video camera can be easily photographic-printed, and the degree of attention to a thermal transfer printer device is increasing. However, in order to perform full-color printing in the thermal transfer method, it is necessary to repeatedly transfer inks of a plurality of colors, and a general configuration for realizing this will be described below.
FIG. 33 shows a first example of a general configuration of a conventional thermal transfer printer. As shown in FIG. 5A, only the uppermost recording paper P is separated and fed from the recording head P and the
A second example of the general configuration of a conventional thermal transfer printer is shown in FIG. As shown in FIG. 6A, only the uppermost recording paper P is stacked and fed to the
In both the example of FIG. 33 and the example of FIG. 34, the recording paper and the ink sheet in the paper cassette are consumables and need to be replaced / supplied according to use. Here, the ink sheet is generally supplied to the user by a cartridge in which both ends of the ink sheet are wound around two bobbins and the two bobbins and the ink sheet are housed in a frame.
The above two methods are common in the past. In the first example, a platen roller having an outer periphery slightly longer than the entire length of the recording paper P is required, so that the apparatus becomes large. A mechanism for winding and holding the recording paper around the platen roller is not shown in FIG. There is a demerit that the apparatus becomes complicated because it is necessary. However, since the second color printing start portion is located immediately after the first color printing is completed, there is an advantage that the time for returning the recording paper is not required as in the second example, and the printing time can be increased. On the other hand, the second example has a demerit that the printing time is extended, but has an advantage that the apparatus can be easily downsized and simplified.
However, in the above-described thermal transfer type printer device, in order to obtain a good print, it is necessary to use a dedicated paper having a surface on which ink is easily transferred as a recording paper. For this reason, for example, an ink cartridge containing ink sheets for 50 recording sheets and 50 recording sheets are sold as a set. As a result, the user must unpack the recording paper and ink cartridges sold as a set, load the ink cartridge into the main unit, and load the recording paper into the paper cassette. It was.
In the case of a thermal transfer printer, as shown in FIG. 35, it is less wasteful to prepare different ink sheets according to recording paper of a predetermined size. Therefore, for example, an A6 size recording paper and an ink cartridge storing an A6 size ink sheet are sold as a set, and an A7 size recording paper and an A7 size ink sheet are stored as a set. Sold. Users purchase according to their usage. When A7 size printing is performed after A6 size printing is performed, the A6 size recording paper and the A6 size ink cartridge are taken out. Instead, the A7 size recording paper and the A7 size ink cartridge are removed. Is loaded. At this time, the taken A6 size recording paper and the A6 size ink cartridge need to be stored for later use. In this case, the ink cartridge and the recording paper are separated from each other, and the recording paper and the ink cartridge are not suitable for dust and direct sunlight, so that they have to be stored in a storage bag or the like.
As proposals for solving these annoyances, as in Patent Documents 1 and 2, a cartridge (referred to as a cassette in Patent Document 2) in which an ink sheet and recording paper are integrally stored is proposed.
However, although the thermal transfer printer disclosed in Patent Document 1 integrates the ink sheet storage portion and the recording paper storage portion, it cannot perform a printing operation while the ink sheet is still stored in the cartridge. . Therefore, in order to perform the printing operation, a mechanism for taking out the ink sheet from the cartridge and loading it to the printing position is necessary, and there is a problem that the apparatus becomes complicated by that mechanism and the reliability is lowered.
What has improved this problem is the thermal transfer printer disclosed in Patent Document 2. In this proposal, it is not necessary to load the ink sheet to the printing position after the integrated cartridge is stored in the main body, and the printing operation can be performed in the stored state. In addition, the user does not feel bothered to install the ink sheet and recording paper separately in the printer device or to store the removed ink sheet and recording paper separately when using different types of recording paper. ing. However, when photographic printing is the primary purpose, the paper used needs to have a predetermined thickness in order to ensure its storage stability, durability, or print quality. Therefore, if the paper is extremely bent during conveyance for printing, scratches or wrinkles may occur on the stamp screen. Further, when the recording paper is thick, depending on the separation method for separating one recording paper from the cartridge, if there is not enough space for the recording paper to be bent at the time of separation, the reliability of separation is lowered. In the paper disclosed in Patent Document 2, the paper transport path is formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cartridge. However, it is slightly large so as not to cause extreme bending in order to suppress damage to the paper and increase the transport reliability. The outer shape of the cartridge is formed by the radius R. However, the inside of the arc shape is a useless space to form this transport path. Further, in order to make the conveyance path bend smoothly, the thickness direction of the cartridge is required to some extent, and there is a limit to downsizing. Eventually, the cartridge becomes larger than the minimum size required for storing the paper and the ink sheet, which leads to an increase in the size of the printer main body.
In view of the above-described problems, an object of the present invention is to provide a cassette provided with a separation claw with high recording sheet separation reliability.
In particular, when paper is fed by the nail separation method, the size tolerance of the paper is affected, and there is a difference in the length in the width direction of the portion in contact with the two nail recording papers at both ends of the paper. There are problems such as reduced reliability and wrinkles generated during separation. It is to solve such a problem.
The configuration of the present invention for achieving the above object is as follows.
A recording paper storage section for storing recording paper;
A first separation claw and a second separation claw for separating the recording paper, which are disposed so as to be engaged with both corner portions at the leading end of the recording paper in the recording paper feeding direction;
A regulating member that regulates the position of one end of the recording paper stored in the recording paper storage unit;
Biasing means for biasing the recording paper so as to abut against the regulating member,
Of the first and second separation claws, the first separation claw closer to the regulating member is a cassette formed smaller than the second separation claw.
According to the present invention, when paper is fed by the nail separation method, even if a recording paper manufacturing error occurs, the difference in the length in the width direction of the portion where the separation claw is in contact with the recording paper is minimized, Separation reliability can be improved.
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.
Based on FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the configuration of an embodiment of the recording paper ink sheet integrated cartridge in the present invention will be described. The recording paper / ink sheet integrated cartridge is a cartridge that is integrated with a recording paper storage portion for storing recording paper and an ink sheet storage portion for storing ink sheets, and is a cartridge that is detachable from the printer body. .

As shown in FIG. 1, a first positioning hole 35 is provided in the end surface of the ink sheet supply

The type of cartridge will be described with reference to FIGS. FIGS. 15 and 16 show three types of cartridges having different recording paper sizes. Next, an assembly method of the recording paper / ink sheet integrated cartridge 1 will be described in order with reference to FIGS. 3, 4, 5, and 6. FIG.
First, as shown in FIG. 3, the
Further, the storage of the
Next, a printer using the recording paper ink sheet integrated cartridge 1 of the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 7 shows a state in which the door 41 on the side surface of the printer main body 40 is opened, and the cartridge insertion opening 42 is exposed. The cartridge insertion opening 42 is substantially the same shape as the cross-sectional shape of the cartridge 1 and is a slightly larger opening. The end of the

Reference numeral 50 denotes an urging member for urging the recording paper in the cartridge in the direction of the arrow in the drawing. The urging member 50 has a distal end fitted into the shaft 48 a and is held at the other end by a rail 51 fixed to the head frame 55 so as to be slidable in the cartridge attaching / detaching direction. It is energized.

Returning to FIG. 9, reference numerals 56 and 57 indicate a first positioning axis and a second positioning axis for positioning the cartridge 1 when the cartridge 1 is loaded in the printer main body. When the cartridge 1 is loaded into the main body, the cartridge 1 is fitted into a first determining hole 35 and a second positioning hole 36 (FIG. 1) provided in the cartridge 1 to regulate the position of the cartridge 1 in the printer main body.
The

Next, the operation of the urging member 50 will be described.
20 (a) and 20 (b) are simplified diagrams for easy understanding of the relationship between the separation claw and the recording paper in the example of the cartridge when the urging member 50 is not employed. 20A,
There is no problem if the width direction length of the portion where the separation claw is in contact with the recording paper is large enough to ignore this difference. However, when using a recording paper having a size and quality that prints a photograph, it is not possible to use a large separation claw considering the load of separation driving and damage to the recording paper. Therefore, it is difficult to use a separation claw with a size that can ignore the difference of 1.2 mm, and the difference in separation timing increases when the recording paper performs the separation operation. In the worst case, separation cannot be performed. It will cause defects.
Hereinafter, the cartridge 1 adapted to the urging member 50 (side-shifting member) according to the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. 19 (a), 19 (b), and 19 (c). This is also a simplified diagram for easy understanding of the relationship between the separation claw and the recording paper. 19A, 19B, and 19C are views seen from the feeding port 30 side of the cartridge 1, showing the relationship between the
FIG. 19B shows the case where the longitudinal dimension L of the recording paper is the nominal dimension, and FIG. 19C shows the case where the longitudinal dimension L of the recording paper is the lower limit of tolerance (Lmin). In each of FIGS. 19A and 19B, the left direction is the loading direction of the cartridge 1, and the right direction is the direction in which the cartridge 1 is removed from the printer main body. Therefore, the
As shown in FIG. 19B, when the longitudinal dimension L of the
For example, as shown in FIG. 19A, the
On the other hand, when the tolerance is the lower limit (Lmin), the width direction length X1 of the portion of the
In the case where the urging member 50 (one-sided member) was not employed, a difference in length in the width direction of the portion where the separation claw contacted the recording paper was 1.2 mm on the left and right. On the other hand, when the urging member 50 is employed, the difference in the length in the width direction of the portion where the separation claw contacts the recording paper can be suppressed to a dimensional tolerance of 0.5 mm. The difference in the length in the width direction of the part of the separation claw that contacts the recording paper at the left and right corners can be minimized, and the separation timing difference is reduced when the recording paper performs claw separation. It is possible to suppress the occurrence of defects such as inability to do so.

Next, based on FIGS. 21 to 27, the operation of the printer apparatus in which the recording paper ink sheet integrated cartridge 1 of the present embodiment is mounted will be described. FIG. 21 shows a standby state before printing in which the cartridge 1 is loaded in the printer main body 40.
FIG. 22 shows a state in which the fed
As shown in FIG. 22, the
Further, since the

FIG. 27 shows the printing state of the recording paper. In the printing operation, first, the
When printing is completed, the
Next, a method for detecting the presence or absence of the
In FIG. 28A, the printing operation is performed in a state where there is no
Next, traveling of the
