Description

The present invention relates to a housing of an electro-optic display device, and more specifically, an electro-optic display device including an exterior case and a holder case that holds a display panel therein and is fitted and locked in the exterior case. The present invention relates to a technique for enabling a holder case locking means to an exterior case to be easily released as required.

The housing of a typical liquid crystal display device among electro-optic display devices includes, as a general configuration, an exterior case, also called a bezel case, and a holder case that holds components of the liquid crystal display device. A component part of the liquid crystal display device, for example, a liquid crystal panel, a backlight, or the like is accommodated, and then a holder case is fitted into the outer case.

The conventional case will be described with reference to the exploded perspective view of FIG. 3. The exterior case 10 has a display window 12 on one surface 11 and is bent substantially at right angles in the same direction from four sides of the one surface 11. A frame type case is used in which the entire side plate 13 is made of a metal plate.

The holder case 20 has a storage recess 21 surrounded by a bottom plate 22 and side frames 23 erected on its four sides, and the whole is integrally formed of a synthetic resin material. In the case of the transmission type or the semi-transmission type, a backlight and a liquid crystal panel (not shown) are stored in this order in the storage recess 21. Therefore, when the holder case 20 is incorporated in the outer case 10, the display portion of the liquid crystal panel is disposed in the display window 12 portion of the outer case 10.

In order to prevent the holder case 20 from rattling or falling off in the outer case 10, locking means for fixing the holder case 20 in the outer case 10 is used. When the holder case 20 is fitted into the case 10, a one-touch type locking means comprising a combination of a locking hole 14 and a locking projection 24 that automatically engage with each other is used (see, for example, Patent Document 1). ).

As shown in FIG. 3, the locking hole 14 is usually provided on the side plate 13 side of the metal outer case 10, and the locking projection 24 is provided on the side frame 23 side of the holder case 20 made of synthetic resin. In this example, three pairs of the locking hole 14 and the locking projection 24 are provided for each side of the housing, but at least one pair is sufficient.

Further, this kind of one-touch type locking means is arranged on at least two sides of at least one of two opposing pairs of the outer case 10 and the holder case 20, but FIG. For convenience, only the locking holes 14 and the locking projections 24 on the side 13a, 23a side are shown.

The locking hole 14 is merely a through-hole, but the locking protrusion 24 has a slope surface 241 that has a forward taper along the direction in which the holder case 20 is fitted toward the outer case 10 (the direction of arrow A in FIG. 4), and a slope. It is formed as an arrowhead shape having a locking step 242 that falls at a right angle at the end of the surface 241.

According to this, the locking projection 24 gets over the inner surface of the side plate 13 due to the elastic deformation of the side plate 13 and / or the side frame 23 when the holder case 20 is forcibly pushed into the outer case 10 and is shown in FIG. Thus, the holder case 20 can be firmly fixed in the outer case 10 because it fits into the locking hole 14.

Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-246881

By the way, in the actual assembly process, for example, the display state of the liquid crystal panel, the illuminance adjustment of the backlight, and the intrusion of foreign matter, after the holder case 20 is fixed in the outer case 10 as described above until the final process. In order to perform the presence / absence inspection or the like, the holder case 20 must be removed from the outer case 10, and the following problems occur.

That is, in the normal design, the outer case 10 and the holder case 20 are designed so that there is no gap between them. Therefore, when the holder case 20 is removed from the outer case 10, the side plate 13 and the side frame 23 You cannot put a tool such as a flathead screwdriver in between. If you try to force it open, it may cause scratches or damage to the case.

As another method, there is a method of forcibly pushing the locking projection 24 with a tool such as a flat-blade screwdriver to remove it from the locking hole 14, but the locking projection 24 is made of synthetic resin, so that the locking projection 24 is crushed. May end up. In particular, when the removal is performed several times, the locking protrusions 24 are crushed and a situation occurs in which the holder case 20 must be replaced.

Therefore, an object of the present invention is to provide a holder for an exterior case in an electro-optical display device housing that includes an exterior case and a holder case that holds and holds the display panel inside the exterior case. It is to make it possible to easily remove the case while securing the case securely.

In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, the present invention has a display window corresponding to the display portion of the display panel on one surface, and is substantially perpendicular to the four sides of the one surface. A frame-shaped exterior case made entirely of a metal plate with the other surface opened by a side plate folded into a side plate, and a recess surrounded by a bottom plate and a side frame formed substantially at right angles to the four sides of the bottom plate A holder case made of a synthetic resin material that is fitted into the exterior case from the opening surface side of the recess, and a locking means for locking the holder case in the exterior case In the housing of the electro-optic display device in which the display panel is disposed in the outer case via the holder case, the locking means is a locking hole formed in a predetermined side plate of the outer case And the holder case From the combination of the locking projection formed integrally with the predetermined side frame of the holder case that gets over the predetermined side plate of the outer case and enters the locking hole. And the predetermined side frame of the holder case having the locking projection includes a front end side portion that enters the exterior case before the locking projection, and a rear end that enters the exterior case after the locking projection. The front end side portion has an abutting surface that abuts against the inner surface of the predetermined side plate of the outer case, and the rear end side portion includes an inner surface of the predetermined side plate of the outer case. It is characterized by having a gap with a predetermined width between the two.

In the present invention, as described in claim 2, the rear end side portion may be formed in parallel with the inner surface of the predetermined side plate of the exterior case, or as described in claim 3. In addition, the rear end side portion may include an inclined surface in which the width of the gap gradually increases in a direction away from the locking projection.

In the present invention, the gap preferably has a width of 0.5 to 1.0 mm. That is, if it is less than 0.5 mm, it is difficult to insert a commonly used tool such as a minus screwdriver. On the other hand, if it exceeds 1.0 mm, the gap is too large, which is not preferable in appearance.

According to the present invention, in a state in which the holder case is fitted in the exterior case, the holder case is held by the locking means, and the contact surface on the tip end side of the side frame contacts the inner surface of the side plate of the exterior case. Therefore, it is securely fixed in the outer case without rattling, and on the other hand, a gap of a predetermined width is provided between the rear end side of the side frame and the side plate of the outer case, so the holder case is removed from the outer case. When removing, a locking tool can be easily released without damaging the case by inserting a tool such as a flathead screwdriver into the gap.

The invention will now be described in more detail on the basis of the embodiments shown in the drawings. FIG. 1 is an enlarged cross-sectional view schematically showing an example of the main part of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is an enlarged cross-sectional view schematically showing another example of the main part of the present invention. In these figures, the liquid crystal panel and the backlight included in the components of the liquid crystal display device are not shown.

As shown in FIG. 1, the casing of the liquid crystal display device according to the present invention also includes an outer case 10 and a holder case 20 as in the conventional example described with reference to FIG. The exterior case 10 has a display window 12 on one surface 11, and a metal plate that is entirely opened with a side plate 13 bent substantially at right angles from four sides of the one surface 11. A frame type case is used.

The holder case 20 is made of synthetic resin, and includes a storage plate 21 surrounded by a bottom plate 22 and side frames 23 erected on the four sides thereof. In the storage recess 21, a backlight and a liquid crystal panel (not shown) are stored in this order in the case of the transmissive type or transflective type, and only the liquid crystal panel is stored in the case of the reflective type.

The holder case 20 is fitted into the exterior case 10 from the opening side of the housing recess 21, whereby the display unit of the liquid crystal panel is disposed in the display window 12 of the exterior case 10. The fitting direction of the holder case 20 with respect to the outer case 10 is indicated by an arrow A in FIG.

Also in the present invention, as a locking means for fixing the holder case 20 to the outer case 10, a locking hole 14 formed on the side plate 13 side of the outer case 10 and a locking protrusion formed on the holder case 20 side. 24.

The locking projection 24 includes a slope surface 241 having a forward taper along the direction (arrow A direction in FIG. 1) that fits the holder case 20 toward the exterior case 10, and a locking surface that falls at a right angle at the end of the slope surface 241. Although it is preferably an arrowhead-shaped locking projection provided with a stepped portion 242, a semispherical projection may be used.

According to this locking means, when the holder case 20 is fitted toward the exterior case 10, the side plate 13 is pushed open by the slope surface 241 of the locking projection 24, and is locked when the side plate 13 gets over the slope surface 241. The step portion 242 engages with the inner edge of the locking hole 14.

Here, in the side frame 23 provided with the locking projection 24, a portion that enters the exterior case 10 before the locking projection 24 is a front end side portion 231, and the portion that enters the exterior case 10 after the locking projection 24. Assuming that the entering portion is the rear end side portion 232, the front end side portion 231 is formed so as to contact the inner surface of the side plate 13 of the exterior case 10.

That is, the front end portion 231 includes a contact surface 231a as a regulating surface that contacts the inner surface of the side plate 13 of the outer case 10 and positions the holder case 20 in the outer case 10, thereby causing the holder case 20 to rattle. Is prevented.

On the other hand, a gap G having a predetermined width is provided between the rear end side portion 232 and the inner surface of the side plate 13 of the exterior case 10. In order to form this gap G, the thickness of the rear end side portion 232 may be made thinner than the thickness of the front end side portion 231.

The gap G is used when the holder case 20 is removed from the outer case 10, and a tool such as a flathead screwdriver is inserted into the gap G to open the side plate 13, thereby engaging the locking hole 14 and the locking protrusion 24. Can be solved.

The width of the gap G does not include a design tolerance width. The width of the gap G is set to a width in which a normally used tool such as a flat-blade screwdriver can be inserted, but if the width is too large, it is not preferable in appearance. Therefore, the width of the gap G is preferably 0.5 to 1.0 mm in which the tool can be inserted and the appearance is not impaired.

In the example of FIG. 1, the wall surface 232 b of the side frame 23 that forms a gap G with the side plate 13 of the exterior case 10 is parallel to the inner surface of the side plate 13, but as shown in FIG. 232b may be an inclined surface that is inclined from the locking step portion 242 of the locking projection 24 toward the bottom plate 22 side of the holder case 20.

According to this, since the width of the gap G gradually increases in a V shape in a direction away from the locking projection 24, the side plate 13 of the outer case 10 is pushed only by inserting a tool such as a minus screwdriver into the gap G. The holder case 20 can be removed from the outer case 10 more easily. 2 is the same as the example of FIG. 1 except that the wall surface 232b of the side frame 23 is an inclined surface.

Although the present invention has been described based on the examples of FIGS. 1 and 2, the present invention is not limited to this. For example, at least a liquid crystal panel is accommodated in the holder case 20, but a control circuit board may be accommodated in addition to the backlight.
