Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a backing resin composition. More specifically, the present invention relates to a backing resin composition that is excellent in storage stability and capable of exhibiting high retardance.
With the recent increase in the number of cars and the concentration of houses, measures against such fires are extremely important. In particular, there is a great demand for flame retardancy for various vehicles and interior materials of houses, and various flame retarding techniques have been proposed.
For example, a flame retardant of a textile product (for example, carpet) used for an interior of an automobile is performed by backing a textile product with a retarding or flame retardant backing resin composition.
As such a backing resin composition, conventionally, a flame-retardant emulsion containing a halogen such as vinyl chloride or vinylidene chloride has been used. The toxic gas is generated, causing serious harm to the human body, and has disadvantages such as air pollution and deterioration of the incinerator.
However, such a conventional backing resin composition has a problem in that it can not exhibit a sufficient retarding property although it can suppress the generation of toxic gases such as halogen gas.
In addition, glycidyl methacrylate may be used as a raw material in emulsions used in conventional backing resin compositions.
In this case, the polymer constituting the emulsion has an epoxy group derived from glycidyl methacrylate in its skeleton, and this epoxy group gradually opens to reduce the crosslinking reactivity.
For this reason, the conventional resin composition for backing has a problem that storage stability is low and long-term storage cannot be performed.
In addition, since the conventional backing resin composition has low storage stability as described above, there is a problem that its fluidity changes drastically and it is difficult to apply it to a textile product for imparting slow flame retardancy.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems of the prior art, and the object is to provide a backing resin that is excellent in storage stability and can exhibit high retardance. A composition is provided.
As a result of intensive studies to solve the problems of the conventional technology as described above, the present inventors have (A) 100 parts by weight of a (meth) acrylic polymer, and (B) 20 to 500 parts by weight of a flame retardant, (C) A (meth) acrylic emulsion containing 0.5 to 10 parts by mass of a surfactant, and (A) (meth) acrylic polymer is (a) glycidyl methacrylate 0.2 to 20% by mass. Hereinafter, the present invention will be described based on specific embodiments. However, the present invention is not limited to the following embodiments, and the ordinary knowledge of those skilled in the art is within the scope of the present invention. Based on the above, it should be understood that modifications and improvements as appropriate to the following embodiments also fall within the scope of the present invention.
[Resin composition for backing]
The backing resin composition of the present embodiment comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of (meth) acrylic polymer, (B) 20 to 500 parts by weight of flame retardant, and (C) 0.5 to 10 parts by weight of surfactant. (A) (meth) acrylic polymer is (a) 0.2 to 20% by mass of glycidyl methacrylate, (b) unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer Monomers containing 5 to 10% by mass and (c) 70 to 99.3% by mass of other copolymerizable monomers (provided that (a) + (b) + (c) = 100% by mass) It is a resin composition for backing which is a polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization of components.
The backing resin composition of the present embodiment is a resin composition for lining a textile product, such as a carpet, used for the interior of various vehicles and houses. The backing resin of the present embodiment By lining the composition to the above fiber product, the fiber product can exhibit retarded flame retardancy.
In addition, the meaning of "slow flammability" here means "slow flammability" used as a flammability category in "Inflammability test method of organic materials for automobile interior" of Japanese Industrial Standard JIS D 1201-1977. means. In other words, the material once ignited in the windless atmosphere refers to the property of continuing to burn slowly at a combustion speed of 10 cm / min or less even after the ignition source is removed.
The flammability test method of JIS D 1201-1977 is based on the combustion test defined in the US Motor Safety Standard FMVSS-302.
In the backing resin composition of the present embodiment, as described above, the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer comprises (a) 0.2 to 20% by mass of glycidyl methacrylate, and (b) an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer. 0.5 to 10% by mass of a monomer, and (c) 70 to 99.3% by mass of another copolymerizable monomer (provided that (a) + (b) + (c) = 100% by mass) (B) an unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer causes (a) a ring-opening reaction of an epoxy group derived from glycidyl methacrylate because it is a polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization of a monomer component containing It is difficult to prevent the decrease in crosslinking reactivity.
For this reason, the resin composition for backing of the present embodiment is excellent in storage stability and can be stored for a long time.
The fiber product that imparts slow flame retardancy using the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is preferably a fiber product that does not generate harmful gases during a fire, such as polyester, polypropylene, nylon, acrylic, etc. And natural fibers such as wool, blended fibers of synthetic fibers and natural fibers, and the like.
Textile products lined with the backing resin composition of the present embodiment are particularly suitable for automotive interior materials, for example, covering materials for ceilings, doors, seats, etc., and carpet materials for decks, floors, etc. (for example, needles) It can be suitably used as a punch carpet.
When the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is lined into a textile product, 20 to 150 g so that the retarding property can be satisfactorily expressed by the backing layer formed by the backing resin composition. / m 2 (solid basis) is preferred to coating, 30~100g / m 2 (solid basis) is more preferably set coating.
Thus, the textile product in which the backing layer was formed can show the slow-flammability used as a combustibility classification in the flammability test method of the organic material for motor vehicle interiors in JIS D 1201-1977 mentioned above.
In addition, if the coating amount of the backing resin composition is less than the above range, slow flame retardancy may be insufficient, and if the coating amount exceeds the above range, powder falling or the like may occur. Or costly.
In addition, since the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is used by lining a textile product that imparts slow flame retardancy, it has a viscosity that allows an appropriate amount to be applied to textile products such as carpets. It is preferable to have it.
For example, the backing resin composition of the present embodiment preferably has a viscosity at 25 ° C. of 1000 to 20000 mPa · s, and more preferably 1500 to 5000 mPa · s.
If the viscosity of the backing resin composition is less than 1000 mPa · s, the viscosity is too low, and it may be difficult to apply an appropriate amount to a textile product such as carpet.
On the other hand, when the viscosity of the backing resin composition exceeds 20000 mPa · s, workability, that is, coatability is deteriorated, so that the backing process may be difficult.
The viscosity can be measured using a Brookfield rotary viscometer.
Moreover, the resin composition for backing of this Embodiment contains (A) (meth) acrylic-type polymer, (B) 20-500 mass parts of flame retardants, and (C) surfactant (meth). This (meth) acrylic emulsion is composed of an acrylic emulsion, and the solid content concentration is preferably 40 to 65% by mass, and more preferably 45 to 60% by mass.
When the solid content of the resin composition for backing is less than 40% by mass, the drying property is deteriorated and the handling is deteriorated. Moreover, when it exceeds 65 mass%, workability | operativity, ie, coating property, may fall.
For example, JP-A-2004-339402 discloses a polymerizable monomer (a) having a glycidyl group, a polymerizable monomer (b) having a polyvalent carboxylic acid group and / or a carboxylic anhydride group. Although an aqueous dispersion for self-crosslinking fiber processing obtained by emulsion polymerization of the monomer mixture it contains is disclosed, such an aqueous dispersion does not have the effect of developing retarded flame, This is completely different from the backing resin composition of the present embodiment.
Hereinafter, the backing resin composition of the present embodiment will be described more specifically for each component.

[(A) (Meth) acrylic polymer]
The (A) (meth) acrylic polymer used in the backing resin composition of the present embodiment comprises (a) 0.2 to 20% by mass of glycidyl methacrylate and (b) unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer 0. 1.5 to 10% by mass and (c) other copolymerizable monomers 70 to 99.3% by mass (provided that (a) + (b) + (c) = 100% by mass) The monomer component can be obtained, for example, by emulsion polymerization in the presence of an emulsifier, water and a polymerization initiator.

Such emulsifiers can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
In addition, this emulsifier can be used as a part of (C) surfactant which comprises the resin composition for backing of this Embodiment.
In the backing resin composition of the present embodiment, the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer is preferably a polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization using an anionic emulsifier or a reactive emulsifier.
Examples of the polymerization initiator include persulfates such as potassium persulfate, sodium persulfate, and ammonium persulfate, hydrogen peroxide, t-butyl hydroperoxide, t-butyl peroxymaleic acid, and succinic peroxide. Water-soluble initiators such as 2,2'-azobis [2-N-benzylamidino] propane hydrochloride; benzoyl peroxide, cumene hydroperoxide, diisopropyl peroxydicarbonate, cumylperoxyneodecanoate, cumylper Oil-soluble initiators such as oxyoctoate and azobisisobutyronitrile; redox initiators combined with reducing agents such as acidic sodium sulfite, ferrous sulfate, tetraethylenepentamine, and ascorbic acid can be used.
The amount of the emulsifier used in the emulsion polymerization is usually 1 to 10 parts by mass, preferably 2 to 5 parts by mass with respect to (a) + (b) + (c) = 100 parts by mass.
If it is less than 1 part by mass, emulsification is not sufficient and the polymerization stability tends to deteriorate. Moreover, when it exceeds 10 mass parts, the diameter of the particle | grains obtained by superposition | polymerization will become small, and as a result, there exists a tendency for coating property to worsen.
Moreover, the usage-amount of a polymerization initiator is 0.01-3 mass parts normally with respect to (a) + (b) + (c) = 100 mass parts, Preferably it is 0.1-1 mass part. When the amount is less than 0.01 parts by mass, the polymerization stability is not sufficient, aggregates are generated, and the amount of unreacted monomers increases.
On the other hand, when the amount exceeds 3 parts by mass, the particle size of the polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization becomes large, and the reaction rate becomes too fast, which is not preferable.
In the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer used in the backing resin composition of the present embodiment, the glass transition point of the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer is preferably −50 to 100 ° C. It is more preferable that it is -20-80 degreeC, and it is especially preferable that it is 0-70 degreeC.
(A) When the glass transition point of the (meth) acrylic polymer is less than −50 ° C., the slow-flammability of the backing resin composition may not be sufficiently exhibited, and the glass transition point exceeds 100 ° C. In some cases, polymerization of the backing resin composition may be difficult.
In addition, the glass transition point in this specification shall mean the value measured by the method shown below.
First, about 5 g of the aqueous dispersion containing (A) (meth) acrylic polymer is thinly stretched on a glass plate and dried at 25 ° C. for 7 days to obtain a dry film.
About the obtained dry film, a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), for example, DSC made by Rigaku Denki Co., Ltd. was used, under the conditions of a heating rate = 20 ° C./min, a nitrogen atmosphere, and a sample amount = 20 mg. taking measurement.

(A) Glycidyl methacrylate is a monomer having crosslinkability, and (A) a monomer component for emulsion polymerization of a (meth) acrylic polymer ((a) + (b) + (c)) 0.2 to 20% by mass.
If the amount of (a) glycidyl methacrylate is less than 0.2% by mass, the effect of developing the retarding property of the resin composition for backing cannot be obtained, and (a) the amount of glycidyl methacrylate is 20% by mass. If it exceeds 50%, the polymerization stability is lowered, so that emulsion polymerization of the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer becomes difficult.
Although not particularly limited, (a) glycidyl methacrylate may be contained in 2 to 12% by mass in the monomer component for emulsion polymerization of (A) (meth) acrylic polymer. preferable.

These can be used individually by 1 type or in combination of 2 or more types.
Of these, acrylic acid and methacrylic acid can be preferably used.
In addition, if the unsaturated carboxylic acid monomer (b) is less than 0.5% by mass, a ring-opening reaction of an epoxy group derived from glycidyl methacrylate is likely to occur, thereby suppressing a decrease in crosslinking reactivity. Can not.
On the other hand, if it exceeds 10% by mass, emulsion polymerization becomes difficult, and the emulsion containing (A) (meth) acrylic polymer obtained by emulsion polymerization becomes highly viscous, and (B) mixing with a flame retardant or the like is difficult. It becomes difficult.

Such (c) other copolymerizable monomers can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
In addition, the (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester having an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms emulsifies (A) (meth) acrylic polymer as (c) other copolymerizable monomer. It is preferable that 70-99.3 mass% is contained in the monomer component for superposing | polymerizing.
When the (meth) acrylic acid alkyl ester having an alkyl group having 1 to 12 carbon atoms is less than 70% by mass, the texture as a backing material may be deteriorated, and when it exceeds 99.3% by mass , Adhesiveness to the fiber may deteriorate.

[(B) Flame retardant]
The flame retardant (B) used in the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is contained in an amount of 20 to 500 parts by mass with respect to 100 parts by mass of the (A) (meth) acrylic polymer. It imparts flame retardancy to objects.
In addition, when the amount of the flame retardant (B) is less than 20 parts by mass, a sufficient retarding effect cannot be exhibited. On the other hand, if the amount of (B) the flame retardant exceeds 500 parts by mass, the viscosity of the backing resin composition becomes too high and handling becomes difficult.
In addition, although it does not specifically limit, It is preferable that the quantity of (B) a flame retardant is 100-300 mass parts, and it is still more preferable that it is 120-200 mass parts. By comprising in this way, sufficient slow-flammability can be expressed and handling becomes favorable.
In addition, the resin composition for backing of the present embodiment is substantially halogen-based so that (B) the flame retardant does not generate toxic gas such as halogen gas at the time of fire or combustion such as heat recycling. It is preferable that it is a flame retardant which does not contain a composition.
The phrase “substantially containing no halogen-based composition” means that a trace amount of halogen may be mixed due to the manufacturing process of the flame retardant.
As such a flame retardant (B), for example, a conventionally known flame retardant such as an aluminum compound, a magnesium compound, an antimony compound, a boron compound, a zirconium compound, or ammonium phosphate can be suitably used. However, the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is preferably at least one flame retardant selected from the group consisting of ammonium phosphate, aluminum hydroxide, magnesium hydroxide, and ammonium polyphosphate.
A flame retardant composed of aluminum hydroxide and magnesium hydroxide has the effect of inhibiting combustion by not burning itself, absorbing heat during decomposition, and releasing water molecules with large heat capacity by decomposition. Can do.
For example, aluminum hydroxide is decomposed by an increase in temperature during combustion, and becomes aluminum oxide and water. This decomposition reaction proceeds endothermically.
In addition, ammonium phosphate reacts with a fiber product or the like for imparting slow flame retardancy to produce a phosphate ester, and promotes carbonization of the fiber product.
For this reason, even if the fiber product is ignited, the flame can be extinguished quickly without burning and spreading.
[(C) Surfactant]
(C) Surfactant used for the backing resin composition of the present embodiment is a component that improves the storage stability of the backing resin composition and improves the coatability and the like. A) 0.5-10 mass parts is contained with respect to 100 mass parts of (meth) acrylic-type polymer.
(C) The storage stability of the resin composition for backing will fall that the quantity of surfactant is less than 0.5 mass part. Moreover, when the amount of (C) the surfactant exceeds 10 parts by mass, the water resistance may be deteriorated.
In addition, although it does not specifically limit, It is preferable that (C) surfactant is 0.5-8 mass parts, and it is still more preferable that it is 0.5-5 mass parts. By comprising in this way, the storage stability of the resin composition for backing can further be improved.
Examples of such surfactants include surfactants such as alkylbenzene sulfonates, long-chain sulfosuccinates, and polyacrylates.
Moreover, as a brand name of a preferable surfactant, Neoperex G25 [manufactured by Kao Corporation], ALCOPOL-FA35 [manufactured by Ciba Specialty Chemicals] and the like can be mentioned. These surfactants can be used alone or in combination of two or more.
Moreover, as this (C) surfactant, the emulsifier used when emulsion-polymerizing (A) (meth) acrylic-type polymer is also contained.
[(D) Thickener]
The backing resin composition of the present embodiment preferably further contains (D) a thickener.
This (D) thickener is a polymeric polysaccharide such as xanthan gum, polyacrylic acid, sodium polyacrylate, carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), sodium carboxymethylcellulose (CMCNa), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP). ), Methyl vinyl ether maleic anhydride copolymer, sodium alginate, propylene glycol alginate, pectin, xanthan gum, locust bean gum, guar gum, arabinogalactan, sodium hyaluronate and the like.
(D) The thickener is an additive for imparting viscosity, preferably thixotropic properties, to the backing resin composition. By further containing such a thickening agent (D), it is possible to suppress the occurrence of liquid dripping or the like during the lining process and realize good coating properties.
When this (D) thickener is further contained, it is preferable that 0.01-5 mass parts is contained when it is set as 100 mass parts of (A) (meth) acrylic-type polymer, More preferably, it is contained in an amount of ˜5 parts by mass.
(D) When content of a thickener is less than the said range, the effect by containing a thickener may not be acquired. Moreover, when content of (D) thickener exceeds the said range, the viscosity of the resin composition for backing becomes unnecessarily high, and it is unpreferable at the point which may lack practicality.
