(二)孟宗竹の上下部分に太めの絹糸を巻き、漆塗りを行う。中間部分を竹かごで使うの六つ目編みのようにくり貫き、ひかりが外にもれるようにする。
(ホ)孟宗竹全体に数回漆塗りを行い、乾燥後、孟宗竹の内側に筒状に和紙を入れる。
(ヘ)直立した蛍光灯に孟宗竹をかぶせて、和竿をつなぐように円柱凸部に孟宗竹を差し込み、台座に固定する。なお、直立したツイン蛍光灯の上部がぐらつくので、円形にくり貫いた孟宗竹のふしの中央に、蛍光灯上部の形状に穴を開け、この円形ふしを蛍光灯上部に置くことにより蛍光灯上部のぐらつきを抑える。
