In recent years, projectors and displays using laser light sources have been proposed with the increase in output of semiconductor lasers and the development of blue semiconductor lasers. Since the laser beam has a single wavelength, it has characteristics such as high color purity, high coherence, and easy shaping. By using a laser light source, it is considered possible to reduce the size and the number of components as compared with a conventional projector or the like.
For this reason, it is expected that a laser beam is used to display an image with high resolution and good color reproducibility with a small configuration. In order to display an image using laser light, it is conceivable to scan a laser beam in the form of a beam modulated in accordance with an image signal in a two-dimensional direction.
By combining the red (R), green (G), and blue (B) laser beams into one beam beam, a simple configuration in which one beam beam is scanned by a single scanning unit can be used.
However, in order to combine the R, G, and B laser lights into one beam light, it is necessary to adjust the position of each part with high accuracy in order to reduce the deviation of the laser light. When precise positioning is required every time each part is attached at the time of manufacturing the image display device, it may be difficult to improve the mass productivity of the image display device. Thus, for example, it is conceivable to adjust the optical axis of the laser light by using the techniques proposed in Patent Documents 1 to 3.

In order to brighten an image displayed with laser light, it is considered to simultaneously scan a plurality of laser lights of the same color. Since it is desirable to reduce the size of the scanning unit in order to perform stable and high-speed driving, it is necessary to adjust the intervals of the laser beams so that a plurality of laser beams are arranged in parallel at intervals smaller than the intervals between the light source units. is there. However, since all the techniques proposed in Patent Documents 1 to 4 adjust the optical axis of the light beam from a single light source or light source unit, each technique is applied as it is in the control of the interval between the laser beams. It is difficult to do. As described above, according to the conventional technique, productivity can be improved and it is difficult to adjust the interval between the plurality of light beams. The present invention has been made in view of the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a light source device and an image display device that can improve productivity and can adjust intervals between a plurality of light beams. To do.

In addition to the light source unit, the light source device includes, for example, a collimator optical system that collimates the beam light, a beam shaping optical system that shapes the beam, a beam diameter adjustment optical system that adjusts the beam diameter, and a modulator that modulates the intensity of the beam light Etc. are provided. By providing the beam interval adjusting unit for each light source unit, it is possible to adjust the interval of the beam light after assembling with normal accuracy for each unit constituting the light source device. By making it possible to assemble each part constituting the light source device with normal accuracy, it is possible to improve the mass productivity of the light source device. Further, productivity can be improved by unitizing the configuration from the light source unit to the beam interval adjusting unit. Thereby, productivity can be improved and the light source device which can adjust the space | interval of several light beams can be obtained.

Moreover, as a preferable aspect of the present invention, it is desirable that the beam light interval adjusting unit is a parallel plate that transmits the beam light. The parallel plate shifts the beam light according to the thickness, inclination, and refractive index. After assembling the light source device to the image display device or the like, the interval between the light beams can be easily adjusted by appropriately adjusting the inclination of the parallel plate. When a parallel plate is used, it is possible to shift the beam light without changing the beam diameter, and it is also possible to emit the beam light substantially parallel to the incident time. Thereby, it can be set as the structure which can adjust the space | interval of beam light easily.
