Description

The present invention relates to a communication device exposed and installed outdoors, and more particularly to a waterproof and anticorrosion structure for a connector mounting portion of a communication device for connecting to other devices by wire.

The number of outdoor installation devices that are installed outdoors such as base station devices of mobile phone systems is increasing rapidly with the spread of mobile phones and the like. Such a system configuration of an outdoor installation device includes a main body of the communication device 1 and an antenna, and the connection between the main body of the device and the antenna is made by wire via a connector attached to the housing.

FIG. 5 is an external perspective view of a conventional outdoor installation device, and FIG. 6 is a BB cross-sectional view of the connector mounting portion. The casing 10 of the outdoor installation device is made of a material having good corrosion resistance such as aluminum, and the connector 2 for connecting to other devices such as an antenna by wire is made of brass or the like because of its electrical characteristics. Further, the base of the housing 10 is subjected to surface treatment, and the connector 2 is provided with a O-ring 3 interposed as a waterproof packing made of an elastic body such as silicone rubber in a connector mounting portion formed of a recess formed in the side wall. Installed. With the connector 2 attached, the O-ring 3 is brought into close contact with the surface 10a of the connector attachment portion and the flange (connector rod) of the connector 2 to prevent water from entering the housing 10.

Further, a painted surface 11 is formed by painting on the surface 10b such as the outside of the housing 10, but the portion where the connector rod contacts is provided with a coating relief to ensure electrical contact. Corrosion is likely to occur between the edge surface and the painted surface. In addition, the base material of the housing 10 is subjected to a surface treatment for improving the corrosion resistance. However, the sustained property of the corrosion resistance varies depending on the installation environment, and particularly, salt or sulfite, such as near the coast or along a busy road. Corrosion resistance deteriorates in places where gas corrosion is severe.

If moisture is present in the connector mounting portion in a state where the corrosion resistance is deteriorated, the material constituting the connector 2, for example, brass, and the material constituting the housing 10, for example, aluminum, have different ionization tendencies, resulting in a potential difference. A battery is formed between the housing 2 and the housing 10, and the corrosion reaction proceeds. Therefore, it is important that the connector mounting portion of the housing 10 is sufficiently waterproof and rust-proof.

FIG. 7 is a view showing an example of a waterproof and rustproof structure of a connector mounting portion of a conventional communication device (see Patent Document 1 and FIG. 4). In this waterproof structure, a coating with a silicone adhesive 4 is applied between the connector mounting portion of the housing 10 and the connector rod to provide a waterproof and rust preventive function. For this purpose, it is necessary to complete the attachment of the connector 2 to the housing 10 and apply and dry the silicone adhesive 4 on the location after the final inspection of the characteristics and performance of the communication device.
JP 2000-277203 A

The conventional waterproof and rustproof structure of the connector mounting part is constructed by coating the connecting part of the connector 取 り 付 け attached to the housing with a curable silicone adhesive. Is a manual work by skilled workers. In particular, when applying a flowable silicone adhesive to the connector side, work should be done with the connector mounting surface up so that the material does not sag, and left to dry for a certain period of time in that state. . Such manual work is not only disliked at the production site, but also takes time to cure, resulting in poor productivity, and there is a problem in that quality variation due to manual work occurs.

In addition, the flange of the connector can be fixed to the upper surface of the protrusion, and when the O-ring, packing and connector are attached, the O-ring and packing are pressed by the lower surface of the flange, and a part of the packing is part of the casing. The O-ring is configured to protrude from the painted surface in the vicinity of the second groove, and the O-ring is brought into close contact with the first groove and the side surface of the protrusion by pressing with the lower surface of the flange.

(図1、2)   More specifically, a hook of a connector 2 for connecting to an antenna or the like is attached to a ridge formed along the periphery of the opening provided on the side wall of the communication device 1, and the connector 2 is waterproof to the housing 20. Is attached with screws or the like with the 0 ring 3 interposed. In order to improve the corrosion resistance, the casing 20 is subjected to a base treatment (chromate treatment in the case of aluminum), and the flat surface portion 204 of the connector mounting portion is masked and painted. The 0-ring 3 is disposed in the first groove 202 and is selected and disposed so as to be pressed by the connector flange. Further, a second groove 203 is formed in which the packing 5 made of a silicone rubber-based elastic body with good weather resistance, which is pressed at the end of the flange of the connector. (Figures 1 and 2)

(Function)
An O-ring having a protrusion slightly protruding from the surface of the casing around the opening of the connector mounting portion of the communication device casing and attached to the inner first groove, and the outer second groove The mounting surface such as the flat part of the upper part of the ridge and the second groove is painted-masked, and the waterproofing of the connector mounting part and the waterproofing and rust prevention function of the connector mounting part are provided. give. In particular, a part of the packing used when assembling the connector to the housing is configured so that it protrudes from the connector mounting portion to the painted surface of the housing, so as to prevent moisture from entering between the housing surface and the painted surface. Constructed, avoids manual work, eliminates variation, and has waterproof and rust prevention functions equivalent to or better than coating with silicone adhesive.

According to the present invention, the protrusion formed on the outer surface of the housing along the periphery of the connector mounting opening, the first groove for mounting the O-ring formed on the opening side of the protrusion, and the protrusion A second groove for fitting a packing formed at the base opposite to the opening of the strip, and the surfaces of the protrusion and the second groove are not painted, so that a curable silicone adhesive is used. Waterproofing and rust prevention are possible without using it, so special work by production plant experts is not required, and even ordinary workers can perform waterproofing and rust prevention work without quality variations. Since time is lost, production lead time is shortened and productivity is improved.

The first and second grooves are formed in a stepped shape with respect to the upper surface of the ridge, the bottom surface of the second groove is formed below the outer surface of the housing, and the second groove The side surface has a shape capable of fixing the packing, and the packing is integrally formed with the casing, so that assembly is facilitated and workability is improved.

An O-ring is disposed in the first groove of the housing, and a packing is disposed in the second groove. The packing is pressed at the lower and end portions of the connector flange, and particularly pressed by the connector flange. Protrudes outward from the second groove, spreads to the painted surface of the housing, and seals the gap between the housing and the edge of the connector collar, resulting in a poor installation location (moisture, salt, sulfurous acid gas, etc.) It is possible to prevent the attachment portion from being waterproof and corrosion.

Furthermore, the O-ring is brought into close contact with the upper surface of the first groove and the side surface of the ridge by pressing with the lower surface of the flange, thereby improving the waterproof function inside the housing and improving the corrosion resistance and preventing corrosion. Is possible.

(Embodiment 1)
An embodiment of a connector mounting portion structure of a communication device casing of the present invention will be described.
FIG. 1 is an external perspective view of a communication device according to an embodiment of the present invention, and FIG. 2 is a view showing an AA cross section of a connector mounting portion of the communication device housing. Hereinafter, the connector mounting portion structure will be described in detail with reference to FIGS.

As shown in FIG. 2, the housing 20 of the communication device 1 according to the present embodiment has an opening for attaching a connector in a side wall (side surface) portion or the like, and an outer surface of the housing along the outer periphery of the opening. A ridge 204 having a bank shape that protrudes more and whose upper surface is a flat portion 204 for attaching a connector is formed, and a step shape (first groove) that is one step lower than the flat portion 204 on the inner side (opening side) of the ridge 204. ) 202 is formed, and a connector mounting portion structure in which a stepped shape or a concave cross section (second groove) 203 is formed on the flat portion 204 at the base of the outer side of the protrusion 204 is also provided.

On the other hand, the connector 2 is an external member 2b for connecting to an antenna or the like via a coaxial cable or the like, an internal member 2c for connecting to a circuit board or the like inside the housing, and an intermediate member between the external member 2b and the internal member 2c. The lower surface is mounted on the flat surface portion 204 of the housing 20 and has a structure composed of a hook-like member (hook) 2a for attaching the connector 2 fixed with screws or the like.

In addition, the base of the housing 20 is subjected to a base treatment (chromate treatment in the case of aluminum) in order to improve corrosion resistance, and the first groove 202 and the protrusion 201 (planar portion 204) of the connector mounting portion. In addition, the second groove 203 is masked so as not to be painted.

The connector mounting portion including the housing 20 and the connector 2 is provided with an elastic O-ring 3 for providing the first groove 202 of the housing 20 with water resistance, and the second groove 203 has a ring. A silicone rubber packing 5 having a shape or the like is disposed, an internal member 2c of the connector 2 is inserted into the opening of the housing 20, and the lower surface of the flange 2a of the connector 2 resists the O-ring 3 and the packing 5 against its elasticity. While pressing, it has the structure fixed by screwing a screw etc. from the upper surface of the collar 2a so that it may press-contact with the plane part 204. FIG.

With this structure, the silicone rubber packing 5 is deformed by being pressed by the flange 2a of the connector 2 and partially protrudes from the second groove 203 to the upper surface of the end of the painted surface 21 of the housing 20. Covering tightly and also covering the engagement part of the flat portion 204 of the ridge 201 of the flange 2a and the casing 20 with the upper part of the crushed packing 5, the connector mounting portion and the painted surface 21 are covered with rain or seawater. Even if moisture such as spills on and stays, the penetration between the upper surface of the housing 20 and the coating film is surely prevented to prevent the occurrence of corrosion in the part, The penetration of the flat portion 204 into the engaging portion is prevented and the occurrence of similar corrosion is prevented.

Therefore, this structure can provide waterproof and rust prevention functions equivalent to or better than conventional silicone adhesive coatings, and even when the installation location is in a bad atmosphere (water, salt, sulfurous acid gas, etc.) In addition, corrosion inside the housing can be prevented. Further, the O-ring 3 has a shape such as a diameter and a thickness of the O-ring 3 so as to be in close contact with both the upper surface and the side surface of the step constituting the first groove 202 of the opening due to the deformation from the lower surface of the flange 2a. By selecting this, it is possible to further enhance the waterproof and rust prevention functions for the inside of the housing 20.

(Embodiment 2)
FIG. 3 is a diagram showing a connector mounting portion structure of a communication device housing according to the second embodiment of the present invention. This embodiment is a configuration example in which the cross-sectional shape of the second groove is modified, and is configured so that the packing can be easily fixed to the outside of the protrusion 201 and the connector 2 can be easily attached. The structure of the second groove 205 is a shape in which the cross-sectional shape of the groove sidewall is parallel to the vertical direction or slightly widens in the lower direction of the groove, and the packing 6 has a shape in which the lateral width in the lower direction is parallel or slightly widened. When the connector 2 is attached, the packing 6 is pressed into the second groove 205 to be inserted and fixed. According to the present embodiment, the packing 6 is securely fixed to the second groove 205 and can be prevented from coming off or moving when the connector 2 is inserted and fixed.

(Embodiment 3)
FIG. 4 is a diagram showing a connector mounting portion structure of a communication device casing according to the third embodiment of the present invention. In the embodiment shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the connector mounting portion structure in which the second grooves 203 and 205 having a concave cross section with respect to the housing surface (outer surface) are formed outside the protrusion 204, In the present embodiment, the surface of the housing outside the ridge 204 is flat instead of the concave shape, and the portion that is not painted between the ridge and the coating is the second groove 206.

In the third embodiment, it is easy to form a groove structure in the housing 20 itself, and the angle formed between the side wall on the second groove 206 side of the protrusion 201 and the surface of the housing on the side wall side is right or left. It is possible to improve the workability of attaching and assembling the ring-shaped packing 7 by making the angle slightly acute.
