かかる構成からなる軸受のインナーレース取外し装置を用いて、図4に示されるような車両用トランスミッションのメインシャフト用端部軸受のインナーレースを取外す(抜き出す)にあたっては、スナップリング9、ニードルローラ4、アウターレース3及びインナーレース5抜け止め用のスナップリング7を取り外し、再びインナーレース外周の環状溝5aにスナップリング9を取り付ける。
図2(A)及び図3のように、先ず二つ割りの前記挟持部材12の上部部材12aと下部部材12bとの間に前記インナーレース5を挟み込み、締付ボルト19及びナット20によって上部部材12aと下部部材12bとを締め付ける。これにより、前記インナーレース5は径方向において前記挟持部材12の上部部材12aと下部部材12bとの間に挟持される。

このように構成すれば、前記締付ボルト19及びナット20を強く締め付けて、二つ割りの挟持部材12の内周面とインナーレース5の外周面とを圧接させる必要がなく、二つ割りの挟持部材12の上部部材12aと下部部材12bとの間にインナーレース5を軽く挟み込むのみで、該インナーレース5に嵌挿された軸受抜け止め用のスナップリング9を利用し、該スナップリング9の側面に挟持部材12の係合部12dを係合して、スナップリング9付きのインナーレース5をメインシャフト1から容易に抜き出すことができることとなり、小さい力で容易にインナーレース5を抜き出すことができる。

さらに、前記複数の連結ボルト(連結部材)15及び抜出し用ボルト13を挟持部材12及び支持部材11から抜き出せば、前記複数の連結ボルト(連結部材)15、抜出し用ボルト13、挟持部材12及び支持部材11を簡単に分割できて、端部軸受取外し装置を嵩張ることなくコンパクトに収納できる。
