Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an exhaust purification device for purifying engine exhaust, and more particularly to an exhaust purification device including a NOx storage catalyst.
A NOx storage catalyst that stores NOx (nitrogen oxides) in the exhaust in an oxidizing atmosphere and releases and reduces the NOx stored in the reducing atmosphere is provided in the exhaust passage of the engine. There is known an exhaust purification device that purifies the exhaust gas.
On the other hand, sulfur components are contained in fuel and engine lubricating oil, and these sulfur components become SOx (sulfur oxide) and are discharged together with the exhaust of the engine. This SOx is also stored in the NOx storage catalyst by the same mechanism as NOx, and so-called sulfur poisoning occurs in which the NOx storage capacity decreases as the storage amount of SOx increases.
In order to perform the S purge, it is necessary to raise the temperature of the NOx occlusion catalyst to a high temperature of, for example, about 700 ° C., and to make the NOx occlusion catalyst into a reducing atmosphere. It was difficult to stably perform the reducing atmosphere. In particular, diesel engines and lean combustion engines, etc., contain a lot of oxygen in the exhaust gas. When HC is supplied into the exhaust gas by starting the S purge and rich spike, the HC is locally abrupt with oxygen in the exhaust gas. There was a problem that the NOx occlusion catalyst reacted and the temperature increased excessively.
In order to prevent such excessive temperature rise, if the amount of HC supplied by the rich spike is suppressed, it takes time to raise the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst to a temperature at which S purge can be performed. Thus, there is a problem that the start of the S is delayed or the NOx storage catalyst cannot be sufficiently reduced to perform the S purge even after the start of the S purge, and the S purge takes time.
In the exhaust purification device of
As described above, in the conventional exhaust purification apparatus, it has been difficult to stably perform both the temperature increase and the reduction atmosphere of the NOx storage catalyst for the S purge.
The present invention has been made in view of such problems, and its object is to recover sulfur poisoning of the NOx storage catalyst stably and efficiently without causing excessive temperature rise of the NOx storage catalyst. An object of the present invention is to provide an exhaust emission control device that can be used.
In order to achieve the above object, an exhaust emission control device according to the present invention is provided in an exhaust passage of an engine and occludes NOx in exhaust gas in an oxidizing atmosphere and releases the NOx occluded in a reducing atmosphere. NOx storage catalyst to be reduced, HC supply means for supplying HC into the exhaust gas flowing into the NOx storage catalyst, HC supply from the HC supply means by rich spike to raise the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst and reducing atmosphere And control means for recovering sulfur poisoning of the NOx storage catalyst, and the control means controls the HC supply means to thereby determine the temperature necessary for the S purge in advance. Supplying the amount of HC necessary to maintain the NOx storage catalyst at a second temperature obtained by subtracting the temperature increase due to the rich spike from the first temperature. After heating the serial NOx storage catalyst, the start the S purge by the rich spike, continue plus the HC feed and performing the rich spike performs the HC supply (claim 1).
According to the exhaust purification apparatus configured as described above, the temperature for recovering sulfur poisoning by the control means controlling the HC supply means before the start of the S purge of the NOx storage catalyst by the rich spike. As a result of subtracting the temperature increase due to the rich spike from the predetermined first temperature, the NOx storage catalyst is brought to or near the second temperature by supplying an amount of HC necessary to raise the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst. The temperature is raised. Then, when the S purge by the rich spike is started, the HC supply is continued and the rich spike is performed on top of the HC supply.
In such an exhaust purification apparatus, the control means starts the S purge by the rich spike after supplying the HC for a predetermined time (claim 2).
According to the exhaust gas purification apparatus configured as described above, the S purge by the rich spike is started after the HC supply is performed for a predetermined time.
According to the exhaust gas purification apparatus of the present invention, the temperature increase due to the rich spike from the first temperature that is predetermined as the temperature for recovering the sulfur poisoning prior to starting the S purge of the NOx storage catalyst due to the rich spike. Since the amount of HC required to maintain the NOx storage catalyst at the second temperature minus the NO is supplied into the exhaust gas flowing into the NOx storage catalyst, the exhaust gas contains a large amount of oxygen immediately after the start of the supply of HC. Even in such a situation, the NOx storage catalyst does not overheat due to the reaction between the supplied HC and oxygen.
Further, while continuing to supply the amount of HC necessary to raise the NOx storage catalyst to the second temperature obtained by subtracting the temperature increase due to the rich spike from the first temperature, the HC supply is added to the second temperature. Since the S purge is performed, it becomes easy to maintain the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst at the first temperature that is a temperature for recovering sulfur poisoning during the execution of the S purge by the rich spike.
Furthermore, if the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst is raised only with the rich spike from the beginning, the HC supply amount due to the rich spike must be suppressed to prevent overheating, and it takes time to raise the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst. However, there is a problem that the start of the S purge is delayed or the amount of HC necessary for the S purge cannot be supplied. However, in the exhaust purification apparatus of the present invention, the first temperature is temporarily set to the second temperature without performing the rich spike. By raising the temperature of the NOx storage catalyst, there is no possibility that the NOx storage catalyst will be overheated. As a result, the start of the S purge can be accelerated, and after the start of the S purge, it is necessary for the S purge by a rich spike. A sufficient amount of HC can be supplied.
In particular, according to the exhaust gas purification apparatus of claim 2, the NOx storage catalyst is raised to a second temperature obtained by subtracting the temperature rise due to the rich spike from a first temperature that is predetermined as a temperature for recovering sulfur poisoning. After supplying an amount of HC necessary for heating for a predetermined time, S purge by rich spike is started. For this reason, even if the exhaust gas contains a large amount of oxygen immediately after the start of the HC supply, and the temperature may rise sharply locally, When the temperature is made uniform and the HC supply by the rich spike is started, it is possible to more reliably prevent the occurrence of an excessive temperature rise due to the combustion of the HC by the rich spike at a local high temperature portion.

The ECU (control means) 50 is a control device for performing comprehensive control including operation control of the
On the input side of the
The
The
That is, when it is determined that the particulate accumulation amount on the
In this forced regeneration control, the exhaust temperature can be raised by controlling the
Further, the
In order to prevent such saturation of the NOx storage capacity, the
In the
Therefore, in the exhaust gas purification apparatus provided with the
Such an S purge control routine is started when it is determined by another S purge control necessity determination routine (not shown) that the estimated SOx occlusion amount is equal to or greater than a predetermined value and S purge is necessary. In accordance with the flowchart shown in FIG.
When the control of the S purge is started, first, in step S2, it is determined whether or not the value of the flag F1 is 1. The flag F1 is a flag indicating whether or not the HC supply by the rich spike for the S purge may be performed, and when the value is 1, the rich spike is permitted. The initial value of the flag F1 is 0, and the process proceeds to step S4 in the first control cycle after the S purge control is started.
In step S4, it is determined whether or not the value of the flag Fa is 1. The flag Fa is a flag indicating whether or not a timer A, which will be described later, has started counting. When the value Fa is 1, it indicates that the timer A has started counting. Since the initial value of the flag Fa is 0, the process proceeds to step S6.
In step S6, the timer A starts counting, and in the next step S8, the value of the flag Fa is set to 1 in accordance with the start of the timer A count.
In the next step S10, it is determined whether or not the outlet side exhaust gas temperature Tc of the
The predetermined temperature T2 is a temperature (first temperature) obtained by subtracting the temperature increase expected when the HC supply is performed by a rich spike, which will be described later, from the temperature required for the S purge (first temperature). This corresponds to the exhaust gas temperature on the outlet side of the
When it is determined in step S10 that the temperature of the
In step S12 and step S14, the supply amount of HC read from the map stored in advance based on the engine speed detected by the
Next, in step S16, it is determined whether the count time ta of the timer A that has started counting in step S6 has reached a predetermined time t1. At the initial stage of the S purge control start, the count time ta does not reach the predetermined time t1, and the current control cycle ends.
In the next control cycle, since the value of the flag F1 is still 0, the process proceeds from step S2 to step S4. Since the value of the flag Fa is already 1, the process proceeds directly from step S4 to step S10. Become.
In step S10, as described above, whether or not the temperature of the
If it is determined that the temperature of the
In this manner, the HC supply in step S12 or step S14 is repeatedly performed every control cycle, whereby the temperature of the
FIG. 3 shows how the HC supply amount from the
When the control of the S purge is started, the HC supply by step S12 or step S14 of FIG. 2 is performed. However, the outlet side exhaust temperature Tc of the
When the supplied HC is oxidized on the catalyst, the temperature of the
Further, at this time, the excess air ratio of the exhaust gas flowing into the
Thus, the count by the timer A advances while the
Therefore, from the start of the control of the S purge until the predetermined time t1 elapses, the amount of HC supplied to raise the
Immediately after the start of the S purge control, the oxygen concentration on the catalyst is high, and the HC supplied in step S12 or step S14 reacts with the oxygen on the catalyst. However, the amount of HC supplied at this time is an amount sufficient to raise the temperature of the
Further, the temperature that has risen locally becomes uniform over the entire
In the control cycle after the value of the flag F1 is set to 1 in step S18 and HC supply by rich spike is permitted, the process proceeds from step S2 to step S20.
In step S20, it is determined whether or not the value of the flag Fb is 1. The flag Fb is a flag indicating whether or not a timer B, which will be described later, has started counting. When the value is 1, the timer B has started counting. Since the initial value of the flag Fb is 0, the process proceeds to step S22.
In step S22, the timer B starts counting, and in the next step S24, the value of the flag Fb is set to 1 in accordance with the start of timer B counting.
In the next step S26, it is determined whether or not the outlet side exhaust temperature Tc of the
The predetermined temperature T1 corresponds to the exhaust gas temperature on the outlet side of the
When it is determined in step S26 that the temperature of the
In step S28 and step S30, the map is read from the map used in step S12 or step S14 based on the engine speed detected by the
Thus, after supplying HC in step S28 or step S30, in the next step S32, HC is supplied from the
Therefore, in this embodiment, HC supply by rich spike is not performed every time in step S32 in each control cycle, but HC supply by rich spike is performed when the control cycle corresponds to the timing for performing rich spike. ing.
In Step S28 or Step S30, the amount of HC supplied to raise the
Next, in step S34, it is determined whether or not the count time tb of the timer B started counting in step S22 is equal to or longer than a predetermined time t2. This predetermined time tb is set as a time during which the sulfur poisoning of the
Even after the next control cycle, the value of the flag F1 remains 1, so the process proceeds to step S20 to determine whether or not the value of the flag Fb is 1. Since the value of the flag Fb is set to 1 in step S24 when the timer B starts counting, the process proceeds directly from step S20 to step S26 this time.
In step S26, as described above, it is determined whether or not the outlet side exhaust temperature Tc of the
If it is determined that the temperature of the
Further, in the next step S32, HC is supplied by a rich spike.
The supply amount of HC supplied in step S28 or step S30 is set based on the map used in step S12 or step S14. As described above, the temperature of the
At this time, as described above, the temperature of the
FIG. 3 shows how the HC supply amount from the
When the count time ta by the timer A becomes equal to or greater than the predetermined time t1 after the start of the S purge control, the HC supply by the step S28 or the step S30 and the HC supply by the rich spike of the step S32 in the flowchart of FIG. As a result, the exhaust gas temperature on the outlet side of the
Then, when the outlet side exhaust temperature Tc of the
At this time, when the rich spike is performed, the excess air ratio of the
In this way, the S purge of the NOx storage catalyst is performed by the rich spike in step S32, and when the count time of the timer B becomes equal to or longer than the predetermined time t2, it is determined that the S purge of the
As described above, when the S purge of the
Since the
Further, even if a sudden rapid temperature rise occurs due to oxygen on the catalyst at the start of S purge control, HC supply by rich spike is not performed for a predetermined time t1 after the start of S purge control. The temperature is made uniform throughout the
Further, after the supply of HC by the rich spike is started, the amount of HC that is necessary for raising the
Although the description of the exhaust emission control device according to one embodiment of the present invention is finished above, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment.
For example, in the above embodiment, the
In the embodiment, it is determined whether the temperature of the
However, when the temperature of the
In the above embodiment, the S purge control is started when the SOx occlusion amount of the
Further, the end condition of the S purge control is not limited to the elapsed time after starting the HC supply by the rich spike as in the above embodiment. For example, also in this case, the NOx purification function of the
In the embodiment, the
