Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus provided with an automatic document feeder such as a copying machine or a facsimile.
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, an image reading unit such as a copying machine or a facsimile and an image forming apparatus including the image reading unit have an image reading speed by an original document reading method (a method of reading a document image being conveyed while the scanner is stopped). Ups and downs of the structure, simplification, and cost reduction have been attempted.
FIG. 1 shows an image forming apparatus provided with a conventional document conveying section. As shown in FIG. 1, the image reading unit 2 is installed horizontally above the
FIG. 2 is a detailed cross-sectional view of the
Further, as shown in FIG. 3 (left side view when the
Therefore, in the case of fixed reading, the document conveying unit is opened and then set on the platen glass 5 with the document image surface facing downward, the
In the case of the flow reading by the
Further, in the
However, in the conventional configuration, in the configuration of the document conveying unit and the image reading unit, when performing fixed document reading, functionally, only the document crimping member is lifted and the document is set on the platen glass and again for document crimping. It is only necessary to close the member, but the user must also open and close the transport unit that is not functionally necessary at the time of fixed reading. Therefore, the operability is increased by the weight of the document conveying unit, and the operability is greatly impaired not only for general users but also for disability users.
Further, in the rotation hinge, the rotation hinge associated with only the document pressing member is generally constituted only by a compression spring. Compared with this, the rotation hinge for preventing the sudden fall of its own weight in the configuration including the document conveying portion adds an oil damper in addition to the compression spring, and the compression spring is very strong in strength. Must be prevented. Accordingly, this increases the cost and complexity of the rotating hinge.
Further, in document scanning, there is a problem that when dust adheres to the upper surface of the flow reading platen glass, the dust adhered on the scanner reading portion appears as an image streak. Against this image streak problem, if the document transport section is opened to set the document on the fixed reading glass, the flow reading platen glass will also be exposed, and stains due to user operations are likely to occur. Occurrence occurs easily.
In the image forming apparatus, an output paper discharge tray for stacking image-formed sheet materials is disposed at a lower portion of the image reading unit, and is disposed inside the image forming apparatus main body. Therefore, the stacking height is limited, and it is impossible to stack a very large number of sheet materials, and the number of stacked sheets is limited to a small number. Further, since it is disposed at the lower part of the image reading unit, it is necessary to reach out to a narrow space when taking out the image-formed sheet material, and the takeout property of the sheet is poor.
Therefore, in the present invention, in order to solve the above-described problems, the configuration of the document conveying unit is simplified and the weight is reduced, and the cost is thereby reduced, and the opening / closing operability of the document pressing plate is improved. It is another object of the present invention to obtain a configuration capable of improving sheet take-out performance and increasing the number of stacked sheets in an image forming apparatus having an in-body discharge configuration for image-formed sheets.
An image including an original conveying device and an image reading device, and an original conveying device capable of performing both an original document reading operation for reading an image while conveying an original document by the original conveying device and an original fixed reading operation. In the reader,
Further, in the present invention, in order to achieve the above object, a paper feeding document placing table for placing a document to be fed by the document conveying device, and a document disposed on the image reading device for performing fixed document reading. A platen glass on which the document is placed, a pressure plate arranged on the back surface of the sheet feeding document placing table, and for crimping the document set on the platen glass to the platen glass at the time of document fixed reading, and the platen A document reading unit and a reading unit that reads an image by document reading and document scanning; and the sheet feeding table is configured to be rotatable with a certain center of rotation. When reading, the document table is rotated so that the document table is adjacent to the vicinity of the paper feed port of the document conveying device, and when the document is fixedly read, the pressure plate is rotated so as to contact the platen glass. The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus including a document conveying device.
According to another aspect of the present invention, there is provided an image reading apparatus provided with a document conveying device, wherein a document fed and read by a document conveying device during document scanning is discharged onto the platen glass.
Further, the present invention relates to an image reading apparatus provided with a document conveying device, characterized in that the image reading device is inclined with the document discharge portion of the document conveying device facing downward.
In addition, when the image reading apparatus is installed on the image forming apparatus, a sheet mounting table on which an output sheet of the image forming apparatus is stacked is disposed inside the image forming apparatus and is disposed below the image reading apparatus. The present invention relates to an image reading apparatus including a document conveying device.
As described above, according to the image reading apparatus equipped with the automatic document feeder of the present invention, when performing fixed document reading, only the document feed tray including the document crimping plate is lifted and the document is placed on the platen glass. Since it is only necessary to set and close the document crimping member again, the user does not have to perform the opening / closing operation at the same time for the conveyance unit that does not require a function during fixed reading. Therefore, the operability is lightened by the weight of the transport unit of the conventional automatic document feeder, and operability is greatly improved not only for general users but also for disability users.
For this reason, the rotating hinge can have a very simple configuration without the need for a damper, a strong spring, or the like in order to prevent the document pressing member and the document feeding tray from suddenly falling by its own weight. The cost of the rotating hinge is also reduced.
Also, in document scanning, if dust adheres to the upper surface of the platen glass, there is a problem that the dust adhering to the scanner reading section appears as image streaks. When the original is set, the document transport unit is integrated with the image reading unit, so it is not necessary to open and close the transport unit, and only the document feed tray is opened and closed. The occurrence of image streaks is reduced, and the occurrence of image streaks is less likely to occur.
Further, since the originals are discharged and stacked on the inclined platen glass at the time of the original flow reading, the configuration of the original discharge tray is not required without deteriorating the original stackability, thereby simplifying the configuration. . In the image forming apparatus, an output paper discharge tray disposed inside the image forming apparatus main body for stacking image-formed sheet materials has an image reading unit disposed at the upper side inclined toward the takeout side. Since it is arranged in such a configuration, it is possible to increase the capacity with respect to the stacking height of sheets and stack more sheets. Furthermore, since the space of the take-out port when taking out the sheet material was widened, the take-out property of the sheet was also improved.
Embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings. In the following embodiment, an example in which the present invention is applied to an electrophotographic image forming apparatus (copier) will be described.

The
In the

(Description of the document feeder)
Next, with reference to FIG. 7, the document conveying portion of this embodiment will be described.
The
A
The separated document P is sent to a
The document P is guided by the read
The reading of the original P is completed, and the original P is discharged onto the
As described above, since the original is discharged and stacked on the platen glass, the structure of the original discharge tray is not required as in the prior art.
Further, since the flow-reading

As shown in FIGS. 8 and 9, the

The configuration of the
The peripheral configuration of the
In this embodiment, the document feeding tray is rotated by a user operation. However, the document feeding tray may be rotated by a drive system or a motor. With such a configuration, it is possible to automate the crimping operation of the crimping plate by the document feeding tray.
In the configuration of this embodiment, the document conveying unit and the image reading unit are integrated, and the document pressing plate and the document feeding tray are shared. For this reason, when performing a fixed reading, the user only opens and closes the relatively light original document feed tray without opening and closing the conventional document transport device. Became easier. In addition, since the structure of the rotation hinge itself that maintains the rotation performance of the document conveying section and the structure of the damper and the strong spring are not required and the structure is very simplified, the cost is reduced.

Next, the drive system will be described. In FIG. 11, a separation motor M1 is a stepping motor that drives a separation roller and a pick roller. The separation motor M1 feeds and conveys the original P by rotating the separation roller and the pick roller clockwise. When the pick roller is lifted upward, the separation motor M1 rotates by a certain amount in the direction opposite to that during paper feed and the pick roller swings upward about the separation roller shaft. The read motor M2 is a stepping motor that drives the
