Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus including a cleaning unit that cleans a driven roller and a transfer belt in an electrophotographic system such as a copying machine, a printer, and a facsimile machine.
Conventionally, in an image forming apparatus using a transfer belt, in order to extend the life of the transfer belt by cleaning dirt and deposits on the transfer belt, maintain high image quality, and further save space, The following technologies have been proposed.
For example, color image formation in which three primary color + black toner images sequentially formed on a photosensitive drum are primarily transferred and superimposed on an intermediate transfer belt at a primary transfer portion, and secondarily transferred onto a sheet at a second transfer portion. In the apparatus, the intermediate transfer belt rotates in the direction of the arrow, and a cleaner is installed inside thereof. An image forming apparatus (see, for example, Patent Document 1) in which dirt such as toner on the back surface of the intermediate transfer belt is scraped off by a blade and accommodated in an accommodation member is disclosed.
A recording material carrier that carries the recording material on its surface; an image forming unit that forms an image on the recording material on the recording material carrier; a detection unit that detects a fog toner amount; An image forming apparatus having a web-like cleaning member that contacts the surface of the material carrier and wipes off the dirt on the surface of the recording material carrier, based on the detection result of the fog toner amount detection means and the information on the recording material size An image forming apparatus (for example, see Patent Document 2) that varies the cleaning ability of the cleaning member is disclosed.
Further, a belt-like member having a position detection mark, a plurality of holding members that rotatably hold the belt-like member, a mark sensor that detects a position detection mark of the belt-like member, and the position detection A mark cleaning member for cleaning the mark, and in the image forming apparatus using the detection result of the mark sensor for sequence control, the mark cleaning member comes into contact with the position detection mark and cleans it. An image forming apparatus (see, for example, Patent Document 3) in which a contact portion that contacts the position detection mark changes with time is disclosed.
However, Patent Document 1 does not clean the surface of the driven roller disposed with the transfer belt sandwiched at a position facing the detection means, only by removing the deposit on the back side of the intermediate transfer belt with a cleaning blade. In Patent Document 2, a space for storing the web of the cleaning member is necessary, and various functions such as a web winding mechanism and a winding timing adjustment are necessary, and it is necessary to design in consideration of the life of the web. For this reason, there is a problem that the space cannot be saved and the cost is increased. In
